This was playing today went to Smithville to see Pagan Jackson in a play. It plays on so many heartstrings for me but sadly none are bringing me peace right now.
We listened to this recording in our choir today since we're going to perform this piece later this fall. I got chills and started crying. Thank you so much!
It's been a long dark night And I've been a waitin' for the morning It's been a long hard fight But I see a brand new day a dawning I've been looking for the sunshine Coz I ain't seen it in so long Everything's gonna work out fine Everything's gonna be all right It's gonna be okay I can see the light of a clear blue morning I can see the light of a brand new day I can see the light of a clear blue morning Everything's gonna be all right It's gonna be okay I can see the light, see the light Brand new day
I heard this beautiful performance of Dolly Parton 's song on WUOT radio. It was played in celebration of her birthday. It is a wonderful, heartfelt song, and this superb arrangement is so peacefully beautiful and sings about the strength of hope that comes with the new day.
Just heard a small group of 10 ir so kids from local high school do this..made me cry...so I looked to find it on RUclips. Your group presentation is is breathtakingly beautiful . Thank you.
now that's the real question- I mean, uh, internet hivemind :)) don't question it (seriously though haha don't worry you're not missing any secret meaning, it's just internet silliness)
My choir is doing this song and so far this is the only recording I have found with the B1 at the end. I'm the only one who sings the note and whenever i try to show off the song they don't believe me that it is part of the song. This helps a lot, thank you for being literally the only version on youtube with the low B1

We read these comments before recording ours, and we thought of you for the last part ;) Team low notes ! ruclips.net/video/IzuYAjTWyxk/видео.html
It's been a long dark night And I've been a waitin' for the morning It's been a long hard fight But I see a brand new day a dawning I've been looking for the sunshine You know I ain't seen it in so long But everything's gonna work out just fine And everything's gonna be all right That's been all wrong 'Cause I can see the light of a clear blue morning I can see the light of a brand new day I can see the light of a clear blue morning Oh, and everything's gonna be all right It's gonna be okay It's been a long long time Since I've known the taste of freedom And those clinging vines That had me bound, well I don't need 'em Oh, I've been like a captured eagle, you know an eagle's born to fly Now that I have won my freedom, like an eagle I am…
Thank you. Vimeo used to have a video of this lovely song...same recording with visuals but it's gone now. Thanks for posting. It's my and my fathers' favorite.
Seems to powerfully complement Mark Miller's "I Believe" . I gotta be careful not to MAKE God silent by shutting God out because I'm still struggling with learning the music for Music Sunday. It's midnight Saturday and it still hasn't "clicked". I surely need that Clear Blue Morning!
FYI - this arrangement is by Craig Hella Johnson, the conductor of the group (and this performance). Dolly’s songwriting is tops, but this arrangement takes it even a bit higher!
This performance is too chambery for my taste. The precise pronunciation of "morning" and "T"s are a little too music theatre/ innocent and feel like no one here has ever really STRUGGLED in life... An ache is something you just have to convey if you're covering a Dolly song.

If anyone was wondering, this soloist is Kathlene Ritch. Fantastic recording!
what a beautiful natural voice.

That piano intro... that's why music is so wonderful and powerful. The simplest things can give you the biggest chills... wow.
It's been a long dark night
And I've been a waitin' for the morning
It's been a long hard fight
But I see a brand new day a dawning
I've been looking for the sunshine
Coz I ain't seen it in so long
Everything's gonna work out fine
Everything's gonna be all right
It's gonna be okay
I can see the light of a clear blue morning
I can see the light of a brand new day
I can see the light of a clear blue morning
Everything's gonna be all right
It's gonna be okay
I can see the light, see the light
Brand new day

Performed this piece last night as part of our Lanier Chamber Singers 25th Anniversary concert. Was enjoyed by all!

I've been looking for the sunshine
You know I ain't seen it in so long

That's been all wrong
'Cause I can see the light of a clear blue morning

Yeh can you please tell me what is the song called?
I love the entire thing but the rendition starting at 2:43 is simply amazing.

Absolutely beautiful! Would have been better as a video instead just a still picture. Still...beautiful.
I think a video of this can be found somewhere on the internet on a format (?} called VIMEO
The Wailin' Jennys have a wonderful version of this also.
Written By Dolly Parton :) she sings it very well too! This is beautiful though!
