I hope Alex gets all the money and power he needs to make his films n shows.
This show didn’t do a very good job of marketing before it came out. The views on Devs related videos are all really low, I don’t think very many people are watching it. Sad because it’s really really good
It was on the popular page on Hulu so I assume more people watched it, it is a great show but probably going to be forgotten
You're absolutely correct. The only way I knew about this show was because of a recent interview with Marc Jacobs..it was recommended to him & I got curious. Sought it out on Hulu. It was good but some of the acting fell flat mostly by the main character.
@@zarebonds6085 there are lots of people who'll never forget this masterpiece.
That’s a general problem with hard science fiction. It has to portrait complex ideas without having known flying indestructible super heroes who the audience knows are going to kind of die in the third act but will definitely somehow be saved with an unhappy enough happy end so that there can be a sequel.
I found out by doing a search for another show and there was a mentioned of Devs. I had no idea so I had to dig deeper and found the show. I had no idea this show existed. Yeah! Bad marketing because it was super great show and one of my favs.
So weird to see Alison actually SMILING! LOL
I thought exactly the same 😄
Just watched the first episode and it's masterful!! Garland should definitely get some invitations to the Emmys!
also kenton was actually one of the best bad guys ive ever seen
no
what even was his motivation for all the things that he had done
really? he was pretty bland and underwritten and basic
@@stevenborg102 I think he was pretty terrifying. His simplicity of mind when it comes to doing terrible things would make anyone afraid to be alone with him. His two goals are self preservation and doing a good job, with the former being more important. He's definitely basic, but that doesn't mean he's unrealistic.
I haven’t been blown away by anything like this since I first saw The Matrix. I get so bored with most shows and movies these days. They’re so predictable. Devs is my new favorite for sure!! What an amazing series and cast. We absolutely loved it!!!
It's the opposite of Seinfeld
really a great cast of actors that are all so different yet mesh together so good. going to miss this show :(
Forest: It's going to be all right in the end.
Jamie: What is?
Forest: Everything.
Loved this show!!
It wasn't alright
Best show I've seen this far.
I sincerely hope there is a second season. We are for this news!
"Can't wait 'till it launches on FX."
Yeah, uh, about that...
My boy Jamie is a stud
Does this host always look like he just rolled out of bed?
He's got a trump level comb over
Alex Garland is a very good director
It's very uncomfortable to see that Kenton isn't tied up in any way.
3:03 Alison just couldn't hold back xD
3:28 thrown under the bus, trying to give a comprehensive answer without giving out too much of the plot.... and FAILING ♥️
It's amazing
The falcon cannot hear the falconer, the Center cannot hold
Cailee Spaeny as Lyndon is 🔥
They divulged too much about a great show that is largely built on mystery, or the lack of it if you see what I mean lol. I hope people watch this only when they've watched the series.
I absolutely LOVED this show!! However.. the music... too freaky for me... but that's just me lol
oh wow she's British!
yes, right i was surprised
Sonoya is amazingly beautiful!
Both seasons were mind-bending. If anybody is convinced that our reality is based upon the movie The Matrix they will not be disappointed how our reality isn't what it seems on the surface.
Both seasons? Did you go to the future?
What if I told you this video was shot in 1994, whould you believe me?
Only now I learned that Lyndon is a she.
But in the show supposed to be a "he" right?
Maybe Lyndon is trans.
@@juandiegovalverde1982 nope
@@juandiegovalverde1982 probably
The best scene to see that is when Lyndon leaves Devs in the “elevator”, you can see her body. To me it was obvious, even the way she hold her arms when putting on headphones or sitting.
I was three episodes in and couldn’t decide yet if the show was worthwhile. This show is very hard to categorize. Sci fi tech spy thriller; ten on the confusing scale. Gapping plot holes but it was all good at the end. Well-shot and fun show but I have a hard time recommending it.
I cannot wait to see what Alex Garland does next.
I'm inlove of Lydon
Btw wtf is wrong with the reporter's hair??Couldn't bother to at least try to comb the hair.
왜 패널들을 세워두죠..? 본인이나 서있지..
Why does a woman acts as Lyndon?
Cailee Spaeny she,s cute.
@@whatshisname3304 I thought that Lyndon was pubescent boy.
@@juandiegovalverde1982
That's the point, she looks like a young boy, but she's older and so can presumably act better than an actual boy of the age of Lyndon. She's supposed to be playing a male character.
Did they genderbender Lyndon?
The character is supposed to be a male, born male, in the show. But Garland believed he needed an actor older than the age of the character for the part in order to give a good enough performance, so he found a female actor with the intention that she is older but can pass for a young boy
I was wondering what this wierd ass looking show was about. And i still dont know
There is a company that is basically using a giant quantum computer to try to prove that the universe is purely deterministic because the founder of the company's daughter was killed and he has no one to blame. Therefore he spends all his money and effort into trying to prove that free will does not exist and that his daughter's death was predetermined so that he can let go of the pain he feels. The twist will come when we find out that he thinks he cracks the puzzle and then Lilly turns out to be an AI robot who has indeed developed free will in it's purest form i.e. not gifted by God. This will in a seeming paradox prove the existence of God in his mind and he will then see the moral responsibility he can't escape for the murder of Sergei and whoever else he kills in the future episodes leading up to what I suspect will be his own suicide or imprisonment. It's a pretty cool philosophical topic that comes up in the discussion over the ultimate goal of AI. This is just my opinion of what is going on in the show and has not been revealed as the truth of the story but it seems to fit some of the clues, especially in the first episode when Lily and here coworker are playing a number game. Lily wins and her friend calls her a "machine". Also, we rarely see Lily sleep possibly suggesting she has a longer battery life than humans. She suddenly and mysteriously leaves a boyfriend she was supposedly in love with to be with Sergei. She does not show interest in being with her family after Sergei's death. Anyway, that part is just my theory. But since this is the first thing after Ex Machina I would expect a robot to show up. Devs has an opportunity to do what Ex Machina couldn't with AI which is explore the real world implications of AI DEVeloping free will.
@@snowfort77 MIND BLOWN!
@@snowfort77 Dude, spoiler alert
@@snowfort77 Maybe, but the machines simulations break down at a future event involving Lilly. They can explore any event in Earth's history before that and have done so. They could have witnessed Lilly being programmed and assembled should they wish. There are no secrets in this world. So I very much doubt Lilly is a robot. The shows ending is more likely to involve multiverse theories and quantum phenomena, in my opinion. We shall see in a few days.
And I was right. Hooray for logic.
So, why they cast a girl for what seems a normal boy?
My guess is either the character on the show identifies as male or it doesn't matter
I thought they might have done it to explore the multiverse where he is female in some realities, but they don't appear to have done that. But really why not cast her? She does such a great job of portraying a lad who hasn't gone through puberty that I was completely convinced. I believed in the character 100%.
@@Sifar_Secure is that sarcasm?
@@durapoker yes
@@Sifar_Secure 👍
They really f*cked up casting the female leading role(Lily). Can't believe she's really dull & flat in real life no wonder her character is the same. Smh...
