I can't even play piano, but this is one of the best instructional / build logs I've ever seen. amazing..
Hey thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it. There will be another one soon.
Thanks for the useful guidance. I have made my own shell but THIS is AMZING and realistic to my dreams. Thanks again
Loved this video. I build all the props for my little girl’s dance studio. Now they have a piano! Excellent video.
Thank you so much! Always glad when the videos help someone out. Cheers!
@@latenightdiy1496 I've just gotten the fiber glass sanded down..... I had a little break-through on a spot where it "bubbled" up on me. Should I redo that little spot with a patch?
It’s up to you. I would say if the breakthrough is right on the seam you could do a patch but if it’s just on the flat surface it may not be necessary.
Beautiful .
Thank you! 😊
Thank you soo much. I am planning to build this !
Great Video, amazing job! thanks.
So badass. Great job man!
i have been thinking about building something similar for my keyboard. A harpsichord shell, and make it ornate. Cool work!
Love this video... Nice job 👍
Nice job!👏👏👏🎹
Thanks a lot!
WOW!!! What a great job. I work at a bar called Petes in Addison Texas. For private partiess I also built my own shells but they sure don't look this good.... lol again Great job!
Oh that’s awesome! I love Pete’s! It’s nice being able to make them look good but my main thing is building them strong enough for someone to sit on, and having the fall board for the slamming/percussive option. I’m currently playing some days on the Riverwalk and their piano set up doesn’t have any type of fall board and I feel naked without it. 😂
@@latenightdiy1496 I am not at all sure what you do with the "fall board." Do you have a video of this beautiful work of art at work in the bar? (I also play a P-115. I could really relate to it....... Also wondered if you ever use ext. speakers?)
buen proyecto queda muy bien, pero sale mas barato, mas facil y mas rapido, comprar o recoger algun piano dañado o que hayan botado y y hacer la adaptacion necesaria
Sorry, I only know English.
I'm gonna start mine because of this video, Thanks? I think.lol
Lol is the “I think” because of the amount of work involved? 😂
@@latenightdiy1496 I have material laying around, a bit of a pack rat. I dont mind the work, I've recently retired and need things to occupy myself. I can see how much time it will take, probable a week for me.
@@greenwave792 Yep that’s about how long it took me.
Hey this was fun to watch! I’m glad you made a youtube account. You’ve always been so good at this kind of shit. 😅
Reminded me of the time you built my badass speaker box ☺️
@@michellepugh7442 lol thank ya. Yea that box was fun. I actually found pics of it the other day.
Superb DIY project Mike!! Well done!!👍👍👍 Greetings from Olive Musicafe, Malaysia 😊 By the way, have you uploaded a video with you performing?? Gonna check it out!
I haven’t uploaded one on RUclips but I do go live on Facebook sometimes.
This is an amazing shell - Is the plywood sheet you are using for the top and bottom 4X8? or a larger custom size?
Im using 4x8 but the main piece for the top is positioned long sideways so I can get the proper width of the piano. Then I add the piece which covers the back near the keys.
This video is super detailed and perfect to get me started. Do you have any plans to upload some videos of your shows?
Probably not on this channel but I do have a few on a channel called Soundstream03.
Great job. You stated at 1:17:20 that you are going to upload the first performance at the club. I'm interested in how the P-115 sounds within the shell. Is it available to watch? Thanks!
Sorry but this was a long time ago. The sound will vary in each venue because it is connected to a PA system so the shell really has little to nothing to do with the sound.
@@latenightdiy1496 Okay, thank you for that. That makes sense. So smart, a digital keyboard (that never has to be tuned) inside a custom-finished grand shell painted with the business-color and logo. Man, you really know how to market yourself!
great work! we are looking for someone to build piano shells for our company. how can we get in touch with you?
Feel free to contact me through Instagram at Piano_mp10. I am currently quite backed up with piano restorations and car builds so it may be some time before I could build another shell, but Im open to find out what you are going for.
I'm so happy to have found this video. I want to build one for my living room. I'm a cabinet maker, so that's no big deal. But I need advice on sound equipment that I can install inside. Are there any good speakers that can run directly off the amp in the keyboard? Or will I have to have an external amp to have good sound. I'm not looking for loud, but just great quality. The built in speakers on my krog suck. But even plugging good desktop speakers into it makes it sound amazing. Any advice helps. Thanks!
Actually man desktop speakers aren’t a bad idea. They probably already have a small power amp built into them, or also look at a small set of studio monitors. I was going to mention a powered PA speaker maybe mounted inside and facing down, but it might be tough to find one small enough. There are many different ways to do this but at my gigs I just wire my digital piano straight out to the PA so I haven’t had to do this. Let me know what you end up figuring out.
excellent ! how many hours ??
Not sure but maybe 60-80.
Nice job. Is it around 100 pounds?
I feel like it’s a bit less.
How much would I cost today
The last one I built with the slam lid and extra braces on the legs, I sold for $1800.
Edit your ideas a little better
🤷🏻♂️?? Please elaborate.
