The Kia EV6 and the Kia Niro EV for me are the ones to go for, especially for the consistent approach to more sustainable seating surfaces. Well done! Thank you, Thomas and everyone at Autogefühl! Wishing everyone good health, peace and happiness for the New Year!

I have seen blindspot on the digital side mirrors in GV60 on 2 video clips I have watched. Not just when you're making turn but when cars are on the blind spot, it does appear. It does have blind spot.

The Genesis would be my first choice! Unfortunately, there is no body style big enough without ending up in a tank layout.
I love how Genesis is currently evolving in terms of design and interior control.
I feel that haptic feedback is not only superior to touch controls in self-driving cars, but also emphasizes the premium feel.
Tesla has issues with quality. I can understand why they leave out the buttons.
But what is going on with German (ex) premium manufacturers?

Hey Thomas, you are doing the best and most comprehensive reviews - thumbs up! To make them complete, it would be great to generally include some night driving and test head light systems (e.g. Matrix lights). I was close to buying the Ioniq 5, but the head lights are so bad in terms of illumination with no upgrade option, that it turned out to be deal breaker for me.

It would be fun to drive an EV in Germany just to drive with Germans who have some lane discipline. In the U.S. our drivers are terrible. Passing in the right lane. Driving slow in the left lane. It's just so terrible. This comparison is super detailed. So glad you did such a detailed comparison.

When comparing the Ioniq 5 Limited AWD, the EV6 GT-Line AWD, and the GV60 Advanced, the price difference in the U.S. was only a few thousand dollars, so I chose the GV60. Quieter, better interior, better infotainment, and smaller (it's hard to find small luxury vehicles. Great for parking and changing lanes).

Most people won't need a fast charger with a car that hasn't been driven. Normal charging is done at home. Driving stations are for trips.

It's interesting that the lane keeping varies among models. I'd guess they all have common components and R&D. Is it down to the sister companies arriving at different tuning of the same system?

  • @99Tonygm
    @99Tonygm 9 месяцев назад +1

Hi, if price was not a factor would you go for the Niro EV or the Ionic 5 (RWD). The steering on lane keeping assist on the Ionic looked pretty unsettled and the fuel economy is pretty lower than the Niro, however the low charging speed of the Niro is a concern.
Also which was better at isolating wind noise on the highway please? Thanks.

Hi Thomas, have been watching your EV reviews for some time now and it was the GV70 review that swung it for me. I had originally decided on the GV60 but not worth the cost when compared to the practicality of the GV70 which is very well priced when compared to the German competitors. EV6 I love too - just want something a little more conventional for first EV with more boot space. Great review and comparison - really appreciate the effort put into the vids and research!

How’s your experience so far w the gv70? There’s not much reviews yet and it’s not available in the US yet. My 70 yo dad has the Ioniq 5 and loves it, but it’s too low for his aging knees. I’m thinking the gv70 will be better for him.

  • @argystar

A very comprehensive comparison - well done! A couple of comments perhaps with a bias because I have been driving an Ioniq 5 AWD for nearly 2 years now. The absence of a centre console allows you to extend your left foot (RHD model) or right foot (LHD model) for relaxation, especially when cruise control is operating on long trips. The GV 70 is not on the eGMP platform and therefore does not quite have all of the features of the i5/EV6/GV60 that depend on that platform and I find both the GV60 and the GV70 to be too enclosed compared to the i5. My Epiq model has the digital side mirrors which you do get used to when you drive the same car all the time. There are different overlay cues displayed which you may not have noticed which show where your car would be in the adjacent lane, and that makes it really easy to safely change lanes even in heavy traffic because you can immediately see if you will fit in the gap between cars in the next lane. Also, in wet weather the view remains crystal clear because of course you are not looking through the wet side window to a mirror. This is really fabulous, as is the fact that all video cameras maintain their brightness in low light conditions so that you can see better for longer compared to a mirror which of course shows less in low ambient light. Your experience of the i5 lane keeping assist was very bad compared to mine, which is the same as you had with the EV6. I think there must have been something wrong with yuri5 because the Ioniq 5, EV6, GV60 should all behave exactly the same because they have identical technology. Occasionally with bad lane markings, or driving into the sun it can give the result you saw but that is quite rare in my experience.

Thinking about unlimited speeds on the Autobahn, it seems very inconsistent with sustainable transportation. The difference between 55 mph and 100 mph is huge in terms of energy consumption. We have same issue in many countries where speed limits are too high.
