I love how this shows that both Ningguang AND Childe have traits that reminds Zhongli of Guizhong.
They’re all very clever, and while Ningguang looks like her physically, I personally feel like she had more Childe’s personality. The bubbly, excitable, but also very calculating and witty.
He sees Guizhong in both of them, and can’t help but make the comparison.

Damn I can already make a story out of this
Zhongli was devastated when Guizhong died and acted like her,gentle and peaceful just to remind himself of her but he met Childe and Ning Guang he was reminded of Guizhong and replaced Guizhong with a Childe since he mostly reminded him of Guizhong smart cunning but cheerful but his heart was always with Guizhong and he would bring Childe to the place where him and Guizhong always hang out trying to lie to himself that Guizhong is still there with him

with gzh’s current appearance now, i’d argue that hu tao reminds zhongli of her more. that’s probably why he chooses to work with hu tao.

@@mochaeko yes, as this was made before we knew what she looked like, Hu Tao especially physique wise, looks a lot of Guizhong. However it’s also possible that Zhongli knew her family/grandfather, and thus finds comfort in working alongside her
