i've always thought that what if lumine (or both travelers) are actually higher beings than the gods of teyvat seeing how when you first play the game they both try to leave celestia. the place where a mortal with a vision can ascend to become a god. since archons can die because of erosion they can very well be replaced. just like the dendro archon. so basically an uno reverse card where traveler would be the only one to witness everyones death. (or in this case us witnessing our fav characters die :') ) idk just a thought ig

But they are still able to get killed, injured, or even sick. If Inuzuma is anything to go by we've learned the twins seem to have a trait that can help them or seriously hurt them(ex: their constant head aches from hearing/feeling all the wills in the visions, the delusion smoke being poisonous to them). Not to mention just one touch of the statue and they can borrow that element and restore the statues to how they used to be.

But then this unknown goddess intercepted them, perhaps out of fear that they are more powerful or the disgust of new gods. And that's when ironically they found their mission. For the antagonistic twin (let's say Lumine) is to help the people of Khaenri'ah with their curse, and that of the protagonic twin (Aether, for example) is to invent the new world and make a final decision according to their odyssey, be it good or bad. Or is it a more fanciful theory than anything else, even a headcanon actually :) I mean, the thing about demigods or similar is not that crazy, after all the traveler is the first five stars we receive, so we can assume that it is strong when it reaches its full capacity.

There were some speculations the travellers were on par with Morax's age. I fully agree on the theory they are godly beings.
