Had no idea they flowered for so long!. Can't wait to visit my local garden centre and buy some to brighten up the house through the ghastly dark days of winter. Thanks for all the info...
We meet again 😊 Nice to find someone else making videos about streps. Beautifully grown plants. Just subbed to your channel and going to take a look around now.
Welcome, Rachel (have I got that correct?), I'm honoured to have you! I'd love a bit of channel feedback if you ever get a few seconds - blame Roger - he said us newbies should ask! :) Yeah I love the streps - might get a few new ones next year. OK let's face it - I WILL get some...
I think you are doing well. Your front page is colourful and clear and you've been uploading regularly. Your videos are cohesive and the camera work is good. Long establishing shops are coupled with plenty of close ups and a steady hand. It's nice too that you vary your locations when you can . You are personable, speak clearly and not afraid to be in front of the camera.
I may differ from Roger in video style but I do agree strongly with the two main points he made in his video. The most important thing is content. People need to see nice plants or be shown how to do something and you are doing that now. Also, and this one is even more important, you need to keep going!
I have seen many promising channels fall by the wayside because it is discouraging at first. Anecdotally, I also started my channel in early November with a greenhouse tour. Although that was five years ago, you should know that I think it took six months to get up to 300 subs 🙄
I love Streps, but am avoiding buying any because I already have a bergillion begonias that I will need to house indoors over winter. Another great video Geoff, thanks. Nicholas.
Yep, I started with one that I grew on for three years and it bloomed every year...hmmm, maybe I can grow more....18 orchids later in my living room! 😂
Glad it was helpful! It's actually a really old video - and I do have more on Streptocarpus of a more recent nature. The playlist is here: ruclips.net/p/PLQKwmNwb1T5BFSI2aTtOreRqQvhZHuB_8

Excellent news! The world should grow more plants...:)

Well, you have me at a disadvantage because I am going to have to ask your name?
I am happy to give you channel feedback.

I've always looked at these, and never tried one. Love the purple polka dot! Now I know I can grow one, I'll have go. Thanks for the info.
There are some stunning varieties available too - should make an easy change from finicky orchids! :)

Yeah I know what you mean. Never enough space. My next video is all about some new Begonia purchases so feel free to drop a few tips!
Wow cool 9 months of blooms....... Thank you for your time Ron
Yeah that's hard to beat isn't it? :)
Such pretty blooms! That purple spotted one is gorgeous! May have a go at them...I've seen them available on some of the mail order sites here in US.
They're a bit like orchids in that once you've bought one...

Excellent… Very informative video, thank you

You've got some real beauties there! I've often considered getting a few but always end up with orchids...
I think they'd complement your 'dangling' orchids really well, Todd - you'd have your own montane cloud forest! :)
simply beautiful...i wonder if these can be grown in the tropics in the shade of my home...
They are tropical and don't mind shade so I expect they'd be fine outside. Let me know how you get on.😀
Your greenhouse is very clean..
Thanks. Being an English toff, I have my valet clean up after I've been in there... :)
I have to go to the internet to translate🤔
I looked it up..haha
Feeding is like talking about religion or Bexit..How funny..but love this topic so you did good.
:)
Soil mixture?
I use Jack's multipurpose potting compost - but any compost that's water retentive will do. I expect they'd even grow in moss.
Thanks
