I can’t begin to tell you how helpful this video has been for me. Our local Anglican Church has a lot of great resources but I really wanted to better understand the BCP. Thank you for making such a wonderful resource on the 1928 BCP. I am so thrilled to start a new journey in prayer and devotion. GOD BLESS! 🙏🏻❤
Thank you for this excellent overview of the 1928 BCP. I appreciate your pointing those area which do not apply to praying alone as well as the choices or options per portion of the daily office. So helpful!
Thank you for the positive feedback! We are thinking about making more videos like this. Prayer is so important, and the BCP is a great resource for that, but it can be intimidating. God bless you, Tim!
This is the best video on the Book of Common prayer! You helped and inspired me as I have always wanted to pray with it, but would get lost in the newer one I was gifted, and ultimately gave up.. haha. I am so excited! I bought an older one in a used bookstore and just put it on the shelf until now, and was so excited to see it pretty much lined up with your instruction! Yay! Lent is a wonderful time to put this habit to practice! Thank you so much for making this ! God bless you!
In the English version the collect that you mentioned is also next to the absolution given by the priest. It's there for when the service is led by a Reader who is a licensed minister but who is not ordained. Readers are lay theologians whose academic training prepares them for a ministry of leading worship, preaching and teaching plus funerals etc. They can do anything that does not involve a sacrament. It is a role that does not exist in the episcopal church but in the rest of the Anglican communion.
Thank you for this comprehensive review. I've used the 1928, personally, for several years, and it is a magnificent book. I'm curious about that IVP 1662 International Edition. I haven't seen reviews of that online (so far) and I'd like to know more about it.
I'm glad this was helpful! I agree. My favorite thing about the 1928 is its ability to serve as a Common Rule for the Church. It is less of a resource book as it is a rule of life.
I came across this after reading your comment. Haven't read it, but hope it is helpful. www.frontporchrepublic.com/2021/05/a-book-to-guide-the-church-the-1662-book-of-common-prayer-international-edition/?fbclid=IwAR0a-hXaOBmi397PB2HdoYfrCkkQ15mBjRQYm06-nokzUbqSj1N4MWHv6Jw
Oxford prints an edition of the 1928 that is of good quality: www.amazon.com/1928-Book-Common-Prayer/dp/0195285069/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=1928+book+of+common+prayer&qid=1629292660&sr=8-3
Something needs to be done regarding your middle finger. I heard and listened to you carefully. Sadly much was taken away by your middle finger. Semper Fi

I have a copy of the 1979 which was given to me as a gift but I have an exact copy of the 1662 by IVP

@@christthekinganglicanatl3014 thank you for that. I've just purchased a copy!
I found the 2019 edition and I would like to know if the way of using it is the same...
Hey Kevin. There are some difference, of course, between the two, but there should be a lot of overlap in how to pray Morning and Evening Prayer.
Could you, please, provide a link where this edition could be purchased?

Proposed 1928?
Not the British but the American 1928

Thanks for the feedback! My wife gets onto me all the time for pointing that way.
