Maybe there's a hidden planet with Yoda's species and they just send someone out every once in a while
Kinda like the changelings from star trek
@@ohyeahgamer3736 yeah, except they're trying to save the galaxy instead of take it over XD
Maybe like the lossats in rebels
@@Olivia_Hedges exactly like that, actually. Everyone thinks they're extinct, but they're safe in what's thought to be impassible space
thats what Ive always thought, and wanted to know more about the species
Anakin was created artificially, using the force unatturally to tip the scales so the living force created Grogu as a way to balance. He wasn't old enough to actively stop Vader but the Force created a powerful, long-living light-side warrior who could pick up the pieces after a Sith inbalance. The Sith rarely live long but they destroy so much in their short time- Yoda's species is a natural antidote to that.
I like this theory.
This is good theory... maybe yoda’s entire species is a force balance to tip the scales.
I thought the same, I think the yodas race is actually something it pops up. Maybe when the force is unbalance one yodas will be born.
Maybe.... this would assume the force has infinite amounts of foresight which it probably does.... since yoda himself would have had to be created to become infinitely powerful and than train luke to redeem the chosen one bringing balance.....
Also he was born around the time yoda died....maybe 10 years before.
"when 900 years old you are, look as good you will not"

My theory on why Yoda's species is so rare, they are delicious
I imagine they look like frogs at birth, maybe lots of French people live in space
Grogu more like grogmmmm

There was actually a short story where Yoda was eaten by an android werewolf space vampire. She said he was delicious, but she later admitted that she was just being polite.
My theory is that their home world is in one of the smaller dwarf galaxies close to the main one. Those galaxies aren't explored much, so it's a reasonable place to hide out.
Watch the film theory video, he’ll get into it on a biological level
The real question that needs to be answered, who was the one who took Grogu from the Jedi Temple during the events of Order 66?
@Darth Vader she died around episode 2 I believe
Im pretty sure she stepped away from the council before the clone Wars all we know is she was on council when anakin was brought to them. I also am pretty sure I heard somewhere she stepped down to travel the galaxy and help people which kind of makes since leaving right before the clone wars were about to start. Im not sure if its cannon now but in fallen order she is thought to be alive. Which contradicts legends cannon where she dies during order 66
@Alex Eidenier that’s in legends tho in canon she hasn’t died

Yoda is at least, almost, 1,000 years old, as he regularly referenced being over 900 years old, in many movies. "When 900 years you become, look so good, you will not". and then he chuckled before wheezing his last words.
I was going to say, pretty sure we know of what his age may be.
Yoda was already adult and master training other Jedi when he was 100, so they have to make some really strange reason to give baby Yoda fast grow.
@@GuitarsRockForever Have you seen children go through puberty? There was a kid in the grade ahead of me who was the shortest in the class in 5th grade, he came back to enter 6th grade at 6 feet tall. He graduated 12th grade at 7 foot.
@@Skitdora2010
The problem is the age does not add up. If baby Yoda @50 years is still a baby (he is more like human 1 year old). And we know Yoda dies at old age of 900ish years.
Assume 900 is like 90 to human, 50 should be 5, and 100 should be 10, not teenager yet.
So they must go through some odd grow rate: extremely slow at the beginning, and then super fast, and then slow again.
@@GuitarsRockForever It's only a problem when you assume a made up alien species would have the same puberty/growth/adult/child rate as humans, which is stupid to assume because it's stupid.
Or Baby Yoda is a terminator all this time. Major plot twist Generation Tech.

I believe Yoda's species comes forth directly from the Force, which is why they are so rare, and I guess Yoda's species doesnt even really know themselves where they came from.
Fun fact: Disney approved Mando cutting an alien in half with a door but didnt approve showing Ahsoka cutting off limbs with her light saber
They had some creative censoring there.
Mandalorians are generally seen as a violent race that pretty much live for combat, while the Jedi are supposed to be peacekeepers, kinda makes sense.
@@faylinnmystiquerose2224 I think it is more simple as that. Disney doesn't want visualized amputation that would raise age restrictions through the roof.
@@oditeomnes Not that there would be any blood seeing that the lightsaber's blade would cauterise the wound as quickly as it makes it, but you could be right.
This is why I love clone wars. It wouldn't always show the violent scenes but sometimes you could hear the brutality in that crunching noise but apart from that it was more PG-12 with even some inappropriate scenes (not too inappropriate) but you know...its still better than rebels and resistance with resistance having no proper violent scenes that were...us and is very forgettable (resistance). The censorship now just deadens cool emotional or fight scenes in about anything now so this is the way the industry is I guess.
He should get “chosen one” tattooed on his body. It worked for Lebron
We know Yoda was 900 when he dies and that he trained Jedi for over 800 years. So Yoda was traning Jedi before he was 100.
Which means he was only double grogu’s age

Maybe it's rare because a toddler ate their eggs...
His species is rare because of the Vong.
Thus he is from a galaxy far far away.
Ooo i like that idea
Utter balderdash! His species are rare because there are only a few of them. Obviously.
He is from a Galaxy far, far out ...
Maybe it's rare because a toddler ate their eggs...
is everyone else replying because it's a girls name, or because they missed the episode when Grogu kept eating frog ladies encapsulated periods?
I wanna see a series on Grogus life actually like when he is 200 he will say to somebody he takes on: father I had, Mandolorian he was.
I’m pretty sure yoda’s species is so rare because they take so long to age that they are left very vulnerable.
Maybe they come from the unknown regions and a another species wiped them out
I think one thing is for sure: Disney is going to milk Baby Yoda for every last quart of green milk he can produce!
Well, the rest of their work sucks; so it's either that or bury the franchise.
Hes so CUTE they are going to make millions from him! When hes sat there in over grown clothes with his little head popping out those huge ears and eyes like Puss in Pussinboots hes so adorable! Yes Disney will milk this cow for sure!!
Since baby yoda and anakin was born the same year what if baby yoda is the chosen one.
No, baby Yoda and Anakin are to conceive a child together. It is this child who is destined to be the chosen one! He will be the Kwisats Haderach! Wait. Wrong film.
which is the top which is the bottom, who get's who pregnant and gives birth.
Anakin was the chosen one. He restored balance to the force, the light side was too powerful.

When I was young I thought that jedi could live very long and eventually they began looking like Yoda.
Grogu is obviously the offspring of Yoda and Yaddle, for the furtherance of their species. Jedi were not prevented from having offspring, they just couldn't have emotional attachment.
Yoda: mmm, down you must lay, procreate we must.
Yaddle: Good, you must give it.
Yoda: MMMM, this you are taking, large it is.
Why can't he be the child of some other members of his species?
@@valhoundmom it's possible, but Yoda and Yaddle are the only two we know of in canon around this time.

Finally, the child's name is revealed. Grogu sounds better than Baby Yoda because he's not Yoda.
I agree. I always referred to him as "the child", but even that seemed lame. So glad to finally have a name to use.
Ok.
They are rare because they are very bad at the talk.
OH YEAH GAMER rare they are because bad at the talk they are
Theory: Yoda's species is a Sith species. There are only two at a time, ever. In order to have a new one, one of the two has to die.
Well they actually have something wrong. We do know two things about Yoda when he died. We know that he died of old age and we know how old he was. This gives us a rough upper limit to his species age. He mentions it when he's training Luke Skywalker on that swamp planet.
Ashoka just forgot about yaddle and it made me upset
Ahsoka
She personally knew Yoda. Also yaddle wasn’t on the high council by the time of the clone wars. I wouldn’t expect her to know yaddle like she does for Yoda
Ahsoka would’ve been too young to remember much about Yaddle.
I think Yaddle may no longer be canon. But it is hard to say at this point.
@@andrewsmithphoto she's definitely Cannon. There's an Easter egg in the last jedi mentioning her. That being a game and this a tv idk if they just randomly decided to have yaddle mentioned for shits and giggles or a hint that she could appear in something in the future

Anakin and/or his son: Immediate response to imbalance
Baby yoda: long term insurance

Personally i hate the name, I wouldn't even taken yoda jr over grogu but that's just my opinion
Omg spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@redacted6090 Well, let me put it this way. I've learned of the existence of 2 other members of that species over the course of the Star Wars saga and they are Yoda and Yaddle. Assuming their name changes to start with a Y once they turn adults, this means Yoda and Yaddle were named Groda and Graddle when they were kids and Grogu's name will eventually change to Yogu... that's right... One thing that makes me think Grogu's species is a physical rather than force-based species is just how incredibly carnivorous he is. The way he is drawn to all kinds of small animals (to eat), eggs and such, make me think his species is some kind of actual carnivorous species that evolved incredibly powerful force powers to compensate for their comparatively weak physical attributes.
They wouldn't be so rare if some1 fed them after midnight and got them wet.
That is an old wives tale and ancient Chinese superstition. In actual fact, they do not procreate like a type of Star Trek tribble, imitating a Gremlin, but in Star Wars.
Quite the opposite actually. Night feedings would develop into an intestinal infection fairly quickly and any dampness would encourage a flesh-eating fungus to grow on the skin. If left untreated, both afflictions are swiftly fatal. Correct me if I'm wrong, but dying isn't an efficient way to procreate on a biblical plague scale.
Yoda's Race is so rare because they spawn during contact with water, and above all, they should not be feed after midnight.
I really enjoy these videos, and spent too much time watching - and not commenting. So thank you Alan and American Ben - you guys make these video very humorous while providing some great theories. I'm well read in Star Wars Lore, but you guys have so much more knowledge of the Lore, that I enjoy these little lessons. And as per this video - I like your theories Alan - especially the 'Disney milking a new property' part. I wonder if we will see any "Yodas" in the High Republic? Given the length of their lifespan I wonder how long the "gestation" period is? (Think of Elephants and being pregnant for almost two years.)
Baby Yoda...AKA Disney's Money Monster.
My theory is that their species is not only force sensitive, but that their physical maturation into adults requires them to hone their connection to the force. Yoda was a Jedi master training Palawan school at ~100yo, yet Grogu is an infant at 50. I think the reason for that is that when he cut himself off from the force and hid his powers after the purge, it stunted his growth.
Had the purge never happened, I suspect he would be a ‘teen’ by now, and most likely a Padawan if not a recently minted knight.
Yodas are the oldest species in the universe, directly connected to the force in a way no other species could comprehend
Actually, the oldest species in the galaxy are the Celestials. They created almost everything people commonly enjoy in the Star Wars setting, from the multitude of terraformed planets, to the hyperspace lanes everyone uses to travel.
@@joshuarichardson6529 big difference between a galaxy and the universe
I feel they are a species of the force.
That was the original concept for the species. They were supposed to be called the Whills, and didn't even reproduce, they were literally created by The Force itself. George Lucas didn't like that idea, and this concept and name were moved to a very different species.
As such, they are simply called "Yoda's Species" now, and their origins are all mysterious and unknown.
Maybe he has always been the "other" yoda spoke about
Totally unrelated to the video, but your now my favorite youtuber...
Go Niners!!!
Master Yaddle looks like she's strung out
What is better than having an aspect that has no definitive answer. The idea that we have a species that is so secret, and can never be defined is awesome! It challenges one's imagination to an incredible level, especially in the Star Wars Universe.
I'm glad that Lucas prohibited others from expanding on Yoda. Trying to figure out something about Yoda and his species opens up our imagination.
In my humble opinion, it works.
"Mantle of Responsibility" Please don't mix Halo into my Star Wars...
I look forward to having an Alien species as a protagonist since it always seems to be the humans who get all the spotlight
My Head-cannon is that Yoda's species do not procreate like most species, but are born from spores. The planet they originate from is long gone, but the spores still traverse the cosmos, only when a spore is able to attach itself to something that it comes in contact with and then it detaches on a planet which it can grow and be "born" - being space-faring plant-like creatures they are hugely attuned with nature and the Force having potentially floated around the galaxy for centuries.
My theory is that yoda’s species is born out of the force on Dagobah which is a swamp planet that yoda immediately decided to hide in, which is a strange choice on yoda’s behalf btw. This explains baby yoda’s obsession with aquatic creatures that u find an a swamp. Dagobah is home to many of those creatures so it makes since that baby yoda would have a connection to them if Dagobah is his home planet. This also explains why their species are shown to be rare, they age slowly and are rare because they most likely aren’t a rare endangered species. I think they are a once inna life time special species that is born out of the force every once inna while.
You sir, have earned my subscription.
In legends there are 5 Vandar (Who served during the Jedi Civil War), Oteg (Who served during the Cold War), Minch (who served 700 years BBY), Yoda and Yaddle. It's almost as though only one (or 2 with Yoda and Yaddle) is allowed to exist at a time. It's almost as though they are actually children of the force or possibly guardians/avatars created to guide its will.
This must have been recorded before he saw the episode on Friday
Baby Yoda is a character that doesn't age like actors and can become a Character that Disney can milk this century.
An entire millennium if they play their cards right
When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not. - Yoda, SW:RotJ
Watching this video has given me an idea; that if we take Alan's theory into account, then we can still have Anakin as "A" Chosen One- the Force did a one-two punch thing against the Sith making an imbalance; Anakin was created to basically be an EMT/paramedic, to stem the 'bleeding' and perform triage on the wound; while 'Baby Yoda' here is like the surgeon, working on a long term fix.
I mean, in The Mandolorian they say 'baby yoda' is at least 50 years old, theoretically this would put him approximately same age as human Anakin/Vader, so the idea they were 'created' by the force at the same time is quite plausible
The better question out of all of this seems to be why the jedi order is willing to accept this species so regularly into its ranks without more information being known about them. I am curious as to where other members of the species were found and how they manage to make their way to the jedi. Where was Yoda or Yaddle found? Who discovered them and where? Were they found on the same planet or in different parts of the galaxy? Where was grogu found and brought to the jedi temple? These kinds of things are really the key to understanding the species, yet we still have no answers and may never get them.

Grogu: goes dark chokes woman

I remember having a chuckle when young Anakin was posited as "the chosen one who will bring balance to the force," because a pan-balance scale with nothing on either side is also in balance.
And that's pretty close to what happened, with only two of each left.
Here's MY theory.
1 YODA+1 YADDLE=
1 GROGU!
In canon there is a planet of yodas and they ranged less than 3 million in count. the reason for the small amount compared to most is because of the growth process. Like baby yoda he still needs someone to take care of him even though he has the mental but not the physical capability.
So rare yoda’s race is

What if Anikin is not the chosen one, but Grogo, Palpatine was alive after all when vader died - so things were still unbalanced ;)
No, TROS simply undermines the previous trilogies because why not. Anakin was the chosen one without a doubt, watch the Morris arc in TCW
Nahhh star wars sequel is not cannon
The Miraluka are also an entire species that uses the Force.
Actually, in tangent, given that so many of the lesser Miralukan users of the Force went into service of the Jedi Temple in support roles, technically the Miralukan almost were nearly _g e n o c i d e d_ as a result of Order 66.

Hypothesis: What if baby Yoda is the Chosen One? Rey and Anakin were just experiments that Palpatine and/or Darth Plagueis created, hence why Rey took the Skywalker name and was connected to Ben Solo because of this. This would also explain why Palpatine was able to reach out to Ben to corrupt him and why Rey was so attuned to the Dark Side and able to use the Force untrained since she was engineered to be Palpatine's new body.
This also brings up the question of what exactly Moff Gideon is trying to create with the Midi-chlorians from baby Yoda's blood. Snoke maybe? An alternate body for Palpatine since Rey got stashed on Jaku maybe? Force sensitive Death Troopers? Wait, turning himself into a powerful Force user so that he can re-forge the Empire in is iron grip would be a good plan as well and likely the special twist that is going to happen. Another likely direction the Mandalorian story could take is the successful capture and death of the Child, leaving Mando to go after Gideon with every ally he can find to get the kid back or get revenge. Also, if he keeps finding Mandalorian equipment and beskar he keeps finding, he is going to find one of the droid war machines the Mandalorians used to use before the Jedi defeated them. He could also find an old Mandalorian ship after the Razorcrest finally rejoins the Force like all old and quirky vehicles finally do.
All of this is just spit ball'n and has Legends material in it, but when has that ever stopped Di$ney from making it cannon?
Idiotic Star Wars mythology can't be explained with logic. If Lucas says it then it is unquestionable.

Something that has disturbed me . Baby Yoda is 50 years old and is still a toddler . Yoda by 100 years old had become a Jedi Master . To me , at least , the timelines don’t match .
There are two other named characters of the species in Legends. Minch and Oteg...
Minch popped up in the comics as part of what happened to create the Dagobah cave's taint, and Oteg is a character in the Old Republic, who is heavily involved in the Revan plotline.
My theory is yoda’s species are the equivalent to the sith purebloods who were predisposed to be extremely force sensitive towards the dark side, I believe yoda’s species are the pre disposition species to the light side of the force.
