Yes, there was another quote i liked: It takes a long time to become an old friend.
For me the word friend is generally used too superficially to be taken serious. Friendship is something SO precious - they say it is 'like lids for the eyes, like sandals for the feet', meaning friends protect each other lovingly and loyally.

Ooh, I love the friendship quotes! Especially "friendship is a slow ripening fruit" :) People don't become friends in an instant, it takes lots of time. And the strange thing is, it takes some people longer to make friends than others. I know it's not particularly easy for me to make friends..
Also "nothing but heaven itself is better than a friend who is really a friend" that is so true :))
