This is helpful. I’ve recently got a 2017 Ram and got a brake light out message on my dash. So I took and look and thinking it was just a bulb to unscrew. I was left scratching my head like what the hell is going on. Until this video I didn’t know it the entire unit would have to be replaced -.-
Thanks for this video! My 2016 Ram has been driving me nuts for months - randomly erroring out even though the lights were always working fine when I checked
I always come back to these videos u did boosted aince i own a hemi and big help for me but unfortunately my tail light got backed up in to at my girls house and the turn signal light stays on but it works properly maybe i gotta uninstall it and get it to function properly 😅
I didn't know this thanks so much. I bought new bulbs lol my Ram 1500 is a 2014 with the 8 speed transmission 😂 a1 auto has these units and I'm ordering rightnow. I get the left side turn signals out and the right-side brake light is out wth 😂
I have been wanting to do this to my 2017 sport but I can’t find any harnesses that convert the factory led twilight harness to a halogen harness any suggestion that you have found?
Yep, I got that issue with my 16 3500 Longhorn CTD. Mine is the left side, gotta pay more atte tion to the qnty of lights illuminated. Also, read it could be the 3rd brake light as well.
My 2017 1500 sport started reporting the rear left turn signal was out last night. I had no LEDs out and not other bulbs out, besides the constant warning as I drove, I noticed that turn signal sped up as I would expect it to do when a bulb is out in any car that I ever owned, Swapped the right and left as the video suggests and neither right or left complained. I switched them back and the warning is gone. Maybe some computer glitch that got reset when I unplugged the light -- hopefully it doesn't come back.
Man that sucks... Those ain't cheap.... I know when I first saw that turn signal light out indicator on my truck I panicked, however the taillights were fine, it was the third brake light that had burned out ( that was due to the total trash gasket used to seal that housing) I ended up using marine foam from Home Depot to seal the housing and eventually switched to LED lights on the third brake light and cab lights... It fast flashed for couple of days then got used to the lower draw and it's functioning pretty good now (knock on wood, and give me a second to go check real quick) 🤣🤣
@@mkeys1233 all cars these days are.. the issue though is a that stupid byproduct of the Mercedes era, the CAN-Bus... Basically it's measuring voltage and even with my Ram Limited it can't tell you which bulb is blown... However on Benz it can tell you which filament on which bulb is burned out 🤣😍
@boostedmotorsports2 $350 from Mopar for the drivers side tail light as mine was giving the same warning and same LEDs were out. Think I got a bargain at $350 for OEMs 👍🏻
Did you try to source any after market tail lamps that worked with OEM LED assembly? I have not been able to find anything. Everything I've found have been for OEM incandescent. Also, this is not a rare thing, either. I've seen at least 4 trucks in my city with the same issue - not including mine. Very annoying.
My 2014 Ram 1500 Big Horn driver side rear red light does not turn on when I brake BUT when I unlock the truck with the remote, the light turns on like normal. HELP PLEASE...how do I fix this?

Had the same issue, however I just reseated the plug and haven't had an issue since. Thanks for sharing
How do you reset the plug

Any time I hit a bump it tells me me my blinker or parking light is out.
To paraphrase an old movie, "Forget it Jake, it's brotheltown."

Everyone do yourself a favor and replace the tail light assembly with the halogen bulb version. Then just put a freaking LED bulb in it! LoL

Good show big dawg. I enjoy your content sir 😎😎😎
My '16 Sport began doing that 2 weeks ago. Looks like I'm ordering a new tail lamp assembly.
If you have the upgraded led taillight you have a few leds out

Mine says left turn signal out but it works fine so annoying I will check my 3rd brake light also. These trucks are so cheaply built lol

Dude.... you following my truck or what??? Mine went out JUST last week

How do you disconnect the fixture from the wire harness?

I installed leds but theres no switcher relay so how do I fix the flickering leds?
Mine doesn’t have any bulbs accessible from the outside.
So mines out guess it’s time to go aftermarket
Good to know incase mine should go out
Really what a waste of time thanks anyways, easy new tail light guys
Lol you have to replace the entire taillight assembly? Wtf
Dread to think what those chinesium-circuitry tail light assemblies cost from Mutha Mopar.......!!😬😨
Not cheap that’s for sure!
I have 2018 ram same problem
