Dee: "How can I be a goon, I'm wearing a nightie!?" Charlie: "You're a goon in a nightie" Mac: "Maybe that's your murder weapon or something" I love that exchange 🤣
This would make a great spinoff series; It's Always Noir in Philadelphia...As the gang has gotten older; they could easily portray these sorts of old school film characters...
that Charlie's first reaction seeing Dee, is what i'm imagining when the Red Skull sees Captain America returning the Soul Stone on Vornir. Red Skull: "welcome traveler, you come seeking the sou.... awh shit it's you
This episode was brillant! I loved it. There was a couple of tv shows that did this noir. Sunny and Married With Children 'Shoe Dick' from season 7 are the only two episodes i can think of.
Yeah it was a really great episode wasn't it, I would watch the remainder of the show in that style lol. In reply to your other comment too, I haven't seen that show you mentioned,. But I imagine they done it very well. Love that style and this era! Wish more shows peppered that flavour into their formula once in a while, there's a very simple and clear reason it works. Lucifer done a brilliant episode in that style too, and X-files had that doooooope noir, Frankenstein type episode ... !perfection!
Even though this is his fantasy and considers her a goon he still imagines her as an attractive woman. He can’t help but be attracted to her despite how much they hate each other and this episode proves that whenever they bang Charlie mentally retreats to these fantasy’s where he still has the waitress. The waitress left him because he gave up on her for criticizing his apartment and being needy (which makes sense considering the apartment has no bathroom and is filled with drug addicts a psychopaths). After she left Charlie went back into banging Dee on certain occasions which triggers the fantasy to hide his shame.
@@Rob_Cary right? She had a little done a few seasons back, looked good, and then boom! She crossed that line that so many women do. Now she looks like a different person.
@@Collins1118 Yea and somehow it makes her less funny too. We cant all be Mac I guess and age to look better than ever. But yea, Dee looks bad. Whatever signs of aging she was fighting couldnt have looked worse than this does.
"You're not supposed to be sexy. You're supposed to be da goon" love that line
Favorite part of the episode lol. Also love Mac’s “goodbye goon”
Such a faithful husband
“You’re a goon in a nightie!”
‘Maybe that’s your murder weapon’
I love how Dee's accent ranges anywhere from Englishwoman to Southern belle in her attempts to sound alluring and mysterious.
It's one of my favorite gags ever how she's an amazingly untalented actress.
@@chinchilla415 the liberty bell episode also has this gag.
I love her frustration sounds.
This episode made me realize that Charlie Day really fits this genre and he ages like a fine wine

They can do any style and set the bar while they're at it
Great film noir adaption for a comedy

Season 14 was the complete death of Dee being attractive. Plastic surgery = botch job
