You do so well interacting with your birds! It’s really cool to see you reading their body language and adjusting the pace of your training. I didn’t fully understand the point of touch training but it makes a lot more sense now that I’ve seen you use it to help desensitise them!!!
Hi where’d you get the clicker thingy? My blue bird (the one that flew away) was super active like your blue bird. And my other bird is so like not friendly 🥴 and we got them at the exact same time. It used to let us hold it but since the other one escaped the sole bird is stand offish🙃
My blue budgie ,Mo, is about 5yrs old and my female green budgie, Winnie, is about 1-2 yrs old. Yes! You still tame an old bird. I have seen fairly old budgies become tame. However, since they are older it might take more time and patients so don't get discouraged! And actually three years is not that old. If kept well, a healthy budgie can live up to 10 years and more.
It is wrapped with non-oiled jute cord. Provides grip for my birds so they dont slip and fall. Originally, It wasn't wrapped and they slipped on the smooth dowel a lot. Also, It is overall better for their feet rather than just a dowel.

I left my clicker in the description.
How old are your birds? They look young. My budgies are 3 years old but I hope I can still train them.

What is your perch wrapped with and why?
