- Taoism is a religion . It was starded in china in 2500 years ago (bc500) . Lao tzu is the founder of taoism . He was worked in a government library . He also famous as a philosopher and a teacher in his era . He was very sad while understanding human's problems . Beleived that one day he start a jurney to went out from this situation . But an government soldier sudenly reach to him and ask a book and thoughts of him for better living . So lao tzu start writting and complete a book . The book is '' tao te ching '' . The book known as the religious book of taoism . The book litterelly means the the way .

What you claim as facts are not facts. Lao Tzu is considered a legendary figure that has little historical evidence. The Tao De Jing is not the work of one man either. He is thought to be around during the warring states period. The supposed soldier was dictated to (according to the story) and he wrote down what many believe to be the Tao De Jing. Not so.
The book has many writers and Zhuang Zhou was credited with putting Taoism on the map. In its original form, it was never a religion. Only a philosophy. Even Zhuang Zhou does not mention Lao Tzu in his writings. It was only when Mahayana Buddhists came to China that Taoism began to be influenced by their religious ideologies.
