- This video shows how I rooted my Nook HD tablet to run Android Kit Kat 4.4.4. This is not a strict how-to video, I'm just showing how I did this for reference. If you attempt this on your own device all liability is your own!!!!!
Here are some links mentioned in the video:

Note about SD card formatting:
In my case my SD card got partially corrupted during this process. The 32GB card ended up reporting only 568MB after creating the CWM image. I was able to restore the card to is full capacity by re-formatting it in a digital camera after I had completted rooting the nook tablet.
Thanks for watching!
Still works in 22'. Thanks amigo, for your help.
Thank you so much for this! Ive had the same problems as you with the different versions and the shrinking of 32GB card , and tried so many different roms but failed. Luckily i was able to find your video and it helped me root my Nook successfully. The only problem was i think step 7 or 8, the link didnt work - i did find a new one though, also, there was intermittent flashing of the screen, but after rebooting 4 times, it went away. Thank you! Your explanation was very precise! :)
hi, could you help me with the links?
Many of them stopped working
PLEASE
Please explain the part to make the card boot, is not clear the sound, thanks in Advance
Start, run, cmd. Diskpart lis dis. Sel dis, cle. That will wipe the SD back to full capacity
After my rooting of the HD, I keep getting errors about not having Google play services. I can't seem to load any apps. The keep closing right away. I have been trying to download the google play services but have been unsuccessful in getting it to run after it supposedly installs.
Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. I had some trouble at first getting this up and running myself. I had to go through the install a few times trying a few different packages before I settled on the one I show in my video. You may have to search around and try a few different packages until you find one that works for you. This may mean doing the whole root/install over a few times until you get it to work. Everything is working fine for me now but the tablet does get unstable after a few days and needs periodic reboots to clear itself up.
is there a way to do this without an SD?
I know this video is old but will it work on a BNTV450?
I have no idea....
Does this still work ?
might be too late yet I hope this helps. there's a pretty good guide on the xda forums
Hi! in choosing the google apps package, can i choose any?, will there be no errors upon rooting same as you have choose the kitkat? thanks!
upon applying the zip file on the nook already, I got an error installing the cm-11-20160815-NIGHTLY-hummingbird.zip file. it states that it is incompatible.
You should be able to use other google apps packages but you may get errors. The package I show in my video is the only one I tried and I didn't get any errors with it.
Which nook do you have? The "hummingbird" packages are for the nook HD (smaller version) and the "ovation" package is for the nook HD+ (larger version).
+SevenFortyOne same as you have in thr video sir. the nbtv400 i have copied all the steps one by one. but i had an error while installing the cm 11 file
+SevenFortyOne what website was that to root your nook I have a nook
Like the video but I an not sure where you rooted the nook. I have used a similar process with the nook hd but it didn't give me n a rooted nook.
I don't remember the details but I think I had trouble with my SD card not being big enough or not formatting correctly the first few times I tried this and couldn't get the root to work. Once I got the issue with the SD card figured out it worked fine as you see in the video.
The links for step 7 and 9 are broken. Any alternatives?

I keep getting a 503 error when I click on the cyanogenmod link. Is there any other site to download the file. Great video by the way.
It looks like that 503 error is temporary...maybe it will be back on-line soon. There may be another place to get files, you'll have to do some digging as I don't know what they would be offhand.
These links are dead ~ Would you mind re uploading them?

I'm on 4.3 which I think is jelly bean, slim bean with cyanogen. I bought mine a good 2 years ago for £50 which with is red was a bargain. I originally bought it just for comics. Nearly used ever since flashing for everything, really nice tab but gaming is limited but editing the XML with 0 gets most at a decent fps.
Sadly mine now powers of suddenly, I get 4211mv at 100%. I think it's happening at 37-3800mv well over 80%. Tried to calibrate the battery hope it works. Any ideas? Going to try a reset or flash another ROM. Any suggestions?
Okay I fixed that issue, for a tablet over 2 years old I was very pleased with battery life. I was getting a good 6 hours+. That's mostly you tube, surfing and gaming.
Now I have a very strange issue. My tablet wasn't doing anything, black screen. Of course I panicled. After a very long power button press it tried to boot. It was stuck at the slim bean logo for a good 15 minutes, more panic.
I powered it off, long press but the power charge light wouldn't come on. So I let it try and boot, powered off then inserted the cable in hoping to miss the attempted power on and just charge. It didn't but the boot animation was different this time, it was 'nook' but had a progress bar under it.
Short story long the thing had somehow reset. I'm sure I bloody formatted the partitions but I guess somehow there was a recovery part left. I'd actually be happy using stock but I) you can't install anything, either it's not compatible or you can't switch off unknown! ii) the things that do download won't run, WTF is the stock ROM that bad it can't even run small games?iii) very limited customisation, in fact you can't even make a simple folder.
I can't even remember how to flash it's been that long.
These instructions are no longer relevant. The links don't work =(
