Thanks for the video. I was thinking about just doing the ball joints but after seeing you do that I think I'll just do the entire control arm while I'm at it.
Got the part on the way. I just replaced the lower control arms with another one of your videos. Great content, makes a doityourself mechanic like myself more confident in the work I do on my vehicle at home.
Hi I'm from the UK, many thanks for this I've got a Mazda 6, which is the same set up, very helpful and far better than crow baring the spring around, I would recommend replacing the drop link/anti roll bar link, with this removed the strut can move even more, made a possibility difficult job much easier many thanks.
Thanks for uploading this with the corrected torque specs. There was an older video where you had said 66 foot pounds for the 3 bolts at the top for the strut. You should pin a post to the other video or take it down since this one is better. Thanks for uploading. I'm taking this job on tomorrow morning.
I believe the bottom strut fork bolt at should be torqued to 76 foot pounds and not 35 at 9:00. Please let me know if that's correct. Thank you so much for these videos!
I've done this job once. The lower ones are definitely worse on this Fusion - especially the rearward one which involves disconnecting the steering wheel from the rack and unbolting, but jacking up the subframe. I don't think it would have been too bad had the bushing not been completely stuck and impossible to get off of the old control arm. I could not find anyone to sell me just the bushing so I literally had to replace the knuckle and wheel bearing. Was into it for probably as much as I'd have paid someone to do it by the time I was done. :( Gotta love salty northern roads!
I have an issue with my 2010 ford fusion… when turning left at a low speed it has a grinding noise. Also when it’s sunny and hot out when I apply the breaks it’s like my caliper gets stuck but I’ve replaced it… I need help with what I need to fix.
