  • Yes, toddlers are hard. And infuriating. And crazy-making.
But they're also adorable and winsome and a great big mirror of our own shortcomings and impatience.
I've parented ten toddlers so far, and I can attest to both their challenges and their many rewards. I pray that these two episodes will encourage and equip you to approach your relationships with your toddlers in a biblical way that honors God and bucks our culture's negativity toward children in general but, perhaps especially, very small ones.
We all know that just because something (or someone!) is hard does not mean it (he/she) is bad. And toddlers have some of the greatest potential for "hard goods" in every mama's life if she will only reject the narrative that they are something to be "gotten through" instead of an amazing opportunity for growth and joy and "professional development."

In the midst of the super hard moments with my toddler I remind myself that one day I will wish to have her this small again😢❤

Such a great podcast. Wish this was around when my kids were toddlers. They were by far the hardest toddlers I had ever been around

My 3 year old son is in a change clothes 10 times a day phase and I will agree it is maddening!!!! Not only are you putting the other clothes back but you have to help them but not help them at the same time. Help only a little in the exact time they need it and only then 🤣

Thank you so much for this. My 4th born is my most challenging toddler so far. He came right after my easiest toddler, the peaceful, loving 3rd born. The 4th born turned into a defiant screamer after his baby sister was born. The whole situation is definitely refining me. I needed the encouragement to be inconvenienced, consistent and remember to get right on his level. Even when it feels like it’s not doing anything at the moment. Thank you.

Thank you for this podcast! I adore your book and I’m in the thick of the toddler years. 5,2,1, and a baby coming this summer! It’s hard but it won’t be forever! 🙏🏻

My daughter turned 5 recently but due to having autism and GDD I feel like we just hit her "toddler years" after she turned 3. She was a delight and things shifted slightly after she turned 2.5 and each year after it feels like it get twice as hard as the year before. Really looking forward to the second half of the episode!
