Renault is one of the few legacy auto companies whose been taking the switch to EV's seriously. I think they will do alright in the future as they are taking the steps needed now to be competitive.
I thought the original Twingo was a masterpiece but it was only ever left hand drive and we never got what would have been a bestseller in the UK. I wish this latest iteration well.
Can’t remember but have read somewhere that it not coming to the uk as will only be LHD only & haven’t seen any vids on RUclips stating any uk details. Hope they do release it here but if they do I don’t see at that prices at under £20,000.
@@paulratnage2663, one of the many disadvantages of some in the UK voting to leave the EU. PS - the number that voted for Brexit was nowhere near the majority of those who are eligible to vote!
If they can make that for €20k, all power to them, seems like Renault is one of the few companies that has realised they need to compete with the Chinese instead of just complaining about it
OMG - that looks fantastic. 20.000 EUR? VW is going to have a hard time over here in Europe... The near future of EVs here is small and cheap cars for towns. This is going in the right direction.
Thats a really nice and stylish car! Perfect city car as also was the original twingo. Many owners loved that and I am sure will again now with this ev.
I'll buy one of these when they come out. It would be my first EV. I currently have a Citigo which is ten years old and I've done 40000 (forty) miles. Only competitor for me seems to be the Panda.
I enjoy these videos very much. Great job Mr. Evans. This car looks like a winner. The interior is nice but with that out of place screen again, is it any car these days that does not have that huge floating screen on the center?
design wise and price wise i love the twingo including the emergency red clear plastic button. exterior and interior design are both high concept and beautifully done, imo. t think renault has done a great job with this model. it looks to me that renault has enthusiastically embraced their move into the EV Age. i'm looking forward to a road test.
Love this new Twingo, looks super funky. Had the Renault Megane E-Tech Iconic as company car but economy is going down in Belgium or more in EU I see and lost my job and the Megane. Test drove the new R5 E-Tech 52Kw and love it also. Renault is making stellar EV's. I'm thinking in getting the RR - E-Tech Iconic 52Kw or the Alpine A290 that has the Magane 220PK but 10k more just for that, I think the 150Pk R5 - E-Tech is more sensible for every day use EV.
Love it! And the Xpens? But you will not convert me from my turbo petrol Audi TT! I would have one of these new Chinese Electric models as well though!😂Just need more charging infrastructure here in WA.
Man this is exaclty what i loved about the Oras. They have this retro future style that makes it feel like it came from Fallout. This is going even further in giving something fun. I hope this succeeds and higher end luxury brands see that these cool interiors sell.
Congratulations on hitting the 200k milestone! That's an incredible growth from 14k in just a few months - what strategies or investments did you implement to achieve this remarkable success?
You're correct!! I make a lot of money without relying on the government. Investing in stocks, BTC, and XRP and digital currencies is beneficial at this moment.
Hello, how did you achieve such biweekly returns? I'm a newbie and I've lost a lot of money investing on my own. Please how do I go about it, the year is almost coming to an end, how can I make profit?
As a beginner, it is essential that you have a mentor to help you stay accountable. In my case, Elizabeth Marie Hawley has guided me for months and I highly recommend her. I focus on her. To be honest, I'm almost hesitant to let someone take charge of growing my finances, but I'm so glad I did.
Twingo looks like quite a nifty car inside and out. What has kept me from switching to EV is driving distance (too limited), time to recharge, and price. Will still be holding out until I can get 250 miles or more on a 1 charge, and very rapid refills!
Renault styling has IMO improved and this is funky. Like the EV Twizzy the little inline 2 seater is equally stylish. It is a shame we don't get that here in Aus for City car use. In Italy the Twizzy is a road vehicle that young teens can drive with a limited license.
Renault’s interiors are great and match the quality of the exteriors! Wish someone would do a modern interpretation of the Citroen CX! Look at that interior… It’s great!
this Twingo looks great in the UK you see loads of these ultra small cars (toyota aygo, vw up) and we have been lacking good small EV's i wish VW would bring out a new Eup
I love the look of this car and would love to drive a car like this around European cities. Smaller lighter cars are far more enjoyable to drive around busy tight urban areas in Europe and Asia.
I love the domensions,it looks like a pitbull puppy, the interior movable screen, now thats a banger expecially when picking kids from school, they can watch their stuff n not make u wanna pull ur hair out
That Twingo looks like the perfect second fun car. EV are still not there when your playground is called Autobahn. At full speed, still slow, a Tesla Y needs to recharge every hour (afaik) So a dinosaur juice terminator for those drives and a Twingo for those boring city & near drives sounds perfect.
My friend had a Nissan Skyline rocketship and a Diesel Smart Car. He said he enjoyed the Smart Car much more. It's not all about handling and power. I too have a Smart Car, and before that I had a Lexus GS300. I'd take the Smart Car any day of the week. Why? Because it's fun and it does exactly what I need without costing a fortune.
The Smart cars ( at least the gas ones) are very poorly made with sub par reliability. Like the mini. They are also expensive to maintain. Not a fan. At least they are safe for their size.
Panorama sunroof turns the cabin into a sauna in Melbourne summer. The aircon better be very good but that would drain the battery fast. I would rather just have an ordinary white roof.
I have run a Renault 12 TL back in the 1980s, and also knew a Renault 4 and a 5. Brilliant cars in those days. I hope that they are still making that sort of robust simple machine, but suspect that everything has got too complicated to service for two decades which their older cars were capable of with reasonable care. On the other hand the price is beginning to come into line. I am guessing that EVs will eventually be less expensive than new ICE cars ... I rather like this little machine. Might be fun to try one out in the coming year. Be3st wishes from George
I agree with Sam that there are too many whingers complaining about a whole range of EV features! The bottom line is if you don't like aspects of a vehicle including its interior then jolly well don't buy it! If this EV does not sell well then its interior design probably won't be copied in other vehicles. But I have a feeling that a lot of young people are going to like the cheap price and it's quirky interior!!
@@OptLabthe huge advantage of EV is that they excel in efficiency in a city environment ! So the actual range is more realistic which is the opposite of an ICE car. Of course on the highway it’s the other way around. At least for now. Very soon range won’t be an issue anymore.
What I find unusual is how the Euro is near to US dollar parity. I remember when BMW first came out with the remake of the Mini, where the buttons, knobs and gauges were supposed to make a fun vehicle, though it’s price kept most out of it. It’s hard to convey a minimalist EV design language when you try to clutter the dashboard. The centre screen is in some kind of huge plastic box that looks like it presents a safety risk.
Personally, I would never go for a big panoramic roof in a hot country like Australia. Definitely designed by someone who lives in Europe. And the colour green makes the car less visible and more likely to be involved in an accident.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat. A lot of families need a second car to get to the train station or run about but there are no desirable small cars to buy. The BYD dolphin is OK but I'd head straight to a Renault dealership if the twingo was sold here for the same price.
I have always loved French car design. It is good that Renault is trying to keep up with the times. But it seems that soon Chinese brands will be prestigious, and manufacturers like Renault, if they survive, will produce cars for ordinary people.
My two cents on the big screen in all the electric vehicles, that tesla introduced. Why would you need this? An electric car is the exact same as a gas car functionally. This wasn't a tesla innovation, it was a necessity because they don't have the interior supply chain of legacy car makers. Funny how everyone just adopted it except for gm.
Hazard warning button is a homage to the original Twingo. (as are many of the interior & exterior features) The panoramic roof will not make it into the production car. The Twingo is going to be a success in a similar way to the R5-e as the price point for European EV's continues to come down & challenge the cheap ICE cars.
I think putting lots of screen inside a car is not i prefer. I already have a tablet attached to my arm, any place where i can stuck my current tablet and a good siftware that connects two of them would be much preferable.
Less than 20k I can buy a Clio which is much bigger, why would I spend the same for less? And there are so many options now for less 20k and all european brands.
Will that flash dash reflect annoyingly in the windscreen? Let’s not forget that electricity is 70% nukes in France, so electric cars make more sense there

Renault is one of the few legacy auto companies whose been taking the switch to EV's seriously. I think they will do alright in the future as they are taking the steps needed now to be competitive.
And they make cars that people own. They might make cars that needs more repairs - but at least it’s possible to repair without selling a kidney.
Nice car, love the uniqueness.
Need more of affordable mini EVs.
Thing is: this car doesn't exist.
I think the Thai EV market needs something like this. Not a Chinese product but the price is still affordable.
China has over 40 affordable mini EVs. Unlucky for you your western governments - known for achievements as colonial terrorism - are cuckoo.
I thought the original Twingo was a masterpiece but it was only ever left hand drive and we never got what would have been a bestseller in the UK. I wish this latest iteration well.
The TWINGO LOOKS FANTASTIC love the look of the Interior :)
superb. We need a right-hand drive version in the UK. I can then pretend to be in the EU :-)

The fancy interior didnt make me overlook that's the price for tiny cars should be about 10000, not 20000
