Hi Guru Ashish Sharna! Wow! It`s mind blowing. It, indeed, dispels all the confusions in my mind. The explanations are clear and concise. Now, I am breathing a sigh of relief. Hey bro, big fan and appreciate your effort. I have a question, check it out "I was shocked when she came back to our team." Doesn't adjective complement here work as an adverbial clause?
@@EnglishWithAshish In fact, Prepositional phrase, Infinitive phrase and Noun clause: all are qualifying the adjectives..so we can say these are behaving as adverb.. The reason they are called Adjective Complements is that they complete the meaning of Adjectives apart from modifying them...It is as per my understanding

NO

Doesn't adjective complement here work as an adverbial clause?
Yes, it does. Adverbs, too, modify adjectives.
• He is amazingly smart.
Smart - adjective, amazingly - adverb

Which sentences are meaningfully correct?
I was shocked to see you again.
Or
I was shocked to have seen you again.
The first refers to the same time as the time of the main verb, which is needed. Hence, it's appropriate.

The sentence sounds wordy and odd.
The clause after that should complete the thought without the usage of the If clause.
