Hi, I’ve been driving, shopping & delivering for Walmart for over a year. My past work experience is 16 yrs in retail & customer service. I’m sorry to hear about the mishaps that have occurred with some of the deliveries. I’d like to explain however that unless we’re filling a shop & deliver we are not the responsible party for how items are packed or for what is in those bags. We go to pick up items from the various stores, the Walmart associates bring them to our cars, they load our cars and then we deliver them as we received them. If you want the order to be handled or placed in a particular place, you have to let your driver know. We may or may not receive msgs from Walmart. They certainly try their best but no human is perfect. I try my very best to please my customers and try to go above and beyond for each one. Thank you for your time in reading this. I hope it helps.

So Walmart picked what the customer wanted and then you just get the stuff in the bags and you only deliver the groceries ??????
It’s not your fault then that Walmart picked the groceries and you just delivered them. I use instant cart and Walmart jackets up the prices for people who use Instacart. Crazy.🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Beware of home delivery from Walmart, recently my package was delivered, but the item was missing from the inside and Walmart did not refund me even after multiple follow-ups.
Have used this for a few years, it’s good and convenient. One problem is that they seem to frequently give you the fruits and vegetables that are over/under ripe, beat up or generally a lesser quality. Seems im often getting the ones that get picked over by the in store shopper. Often try to make in store purchases to get the good qualityproduce
Yup….they fill those orders with produce or fresh meats that are almost if not expired on the day of delivery….basically useing these customers as a garbage dump that pays THEM to take the product they cant sell in the store…..if able Id get fresh things personally!

As a Walmart personal shopper, we’re instructed to pick only produce that we would pick for ourselves. As for under-ripe produce, that’s because all of that particular product available may be under-ripe. Also, like on bananas & avocados, we have to guess when you’re planning to use them. Could be right away, or could be several days from then (in which case, you want slightly under-ripe). Also, meat products must be at least 2-3 away from the “freeze by” date. You should freeze it if you aren’t going to use it right away. So no, it’s not a “dumping ground” for bad products. I have had to choose some things that sell out quickly (like Roma tomatoes) which aren’t the best, only because it’s all we have and customers don’t want to be told we’re out.
Another point: Grocery picking is only as good as your store/employees. If your personal shopper is a high school kid who doesn’t care, the quality may suffer. But our management (in our store, at least) does quality checks and we try to keep everything top notch. Complain to your store if you’re dissatisfied and they’ll try to improve or someone will be reprimanded. District managers want it all done properly, so believe me, the OGP department heads don’t want them coming down on them.

I live in Toronto Canada,I am ordering my groceries from Walmart since December 2019 . Every month at least once or twice we get groceries delivered. Products are as cheap as no-frills and if any item goes missing the customer service team right away refunds the item without questions . Extremely satisfied with Walmart .

I am disabled and finding it harder and harder to go get groceries, even if I use an electric cart. I am anxious to give this a try. My friend at church told me about it and how she loves it. Today, I will place my 1st order. Thank-you for the video!!

I've used grocery walmart delivery for a couple of years. My vehicle went down and my neighbor can't legally drive. No vehicle between us. He pays for the delivery fee for delivery. Any problems with walmart, I call customer service. As far as produce not ripe yet, brown paper bags help immensely. Don't be a victim and throw away the item, google will help with info. Educate yourself. 😊😊

Our local Walmart in suburban Dallas has NOT ANSWERED the PHONE in over 2 yrs. ... and not any of their other departments ( except the drugstore ) and I have complained about this to customer service while I'm in the store as well as to managers in their other stores in the area ... and even four times gave complaints to the 1-800 number .
Finally one day someone in customer service at my local store told me yeah they shut the phones off .
This is why I'm leery of ordering online to have them delivere to my home .
Just cancelled my membership. WAS free delivery AND NO minimum order. They just changed that as of February 2023. Now have minimum order $35 same as Safeway or Fed Meyer. Part of the allure was no minimum required. Also, item availability has become as bad as Safeway! Also, am not offered option for substitute if item out of stock. Beware.

When they bring your stuff they're supposed to knock on the door to let you know they are there. But my delivery person never did knock. And I did not know my things were out there and my food almost spoiled in the heat.

I have learned, when possible....get to the door a few minutes before they are scheduled to arrive. Like ,say maybe 8 or so. Then get a chair by the door, open it ,sit there and wait. This way as soon as they step to the door they cannot get away without doing right by you. Now folks don't get uptight about my suggestion. I do realize, for a lot of people this isn't possible.....(especially if you have to use the restroom at that time) ,But after the second time of a delivery person doing "The Drop & Run" after I left instructions to knock ......I had to get sneaky.
I signed up for Walmart Plus delivery trial needless to say my FIRST Ever delivery Order never showed up over 2 hours later after my delivery window passed I cancelled my order 9:25PM and cancelled the free trial it doesn’t work especially if your expecting it to arrive.
Just read all the complaints about late delivery or never being delivered at all. Walmart tryna compete with amazon prime and it’s definitely not working.
well i tried this wal mart thing first one a little program did not get everything and tried them again today and never got my order placed order on friday for delivery. today 10 -11 am never got it they keep telling me problem with drivers called and talked with there customer service jerks and they tell me it will be there never got it trying to find wal mart home office number just to let off some steam i am done with this clown company they offered me 10 freaking dollars told them stick it !!!

Wow just made my first order but the people who get your things do alot some people people order heavy things at the checkout they say tip the delivery $4, $7 or $10 i choose what they choose to me to tip it was $7 i did order heavy things water milk sodas and more can we change the tip i want to chose $10 those were the only choice they gave me 30 day trial not 15 days

They get huge tips! 10 bucks, 15 bucks, 35 bucks for 3 light bags of groceries. Yeah they get tipped quite well

I had this service. The computer will automatically assign the closest store to your address. I was assigned to a neighborhood market. Not near the variety of a super Walmart. The supercenter was 1/2 mile further than neighborhood market. I called customer service at Walmart corporate. I was told there was nothing I could do, it was neighborhood market because of the delivery costs to the company. When asked if there was an exception for a long term customer, I was hung up on and immediately refunded $98. I was treated so poorly from customer service -will never shop Walmart again. Switched to Frys/Kroger they use Instacart, fantastic service and communication.
Terrible experience with Walmart. I placed a grocery delivery order for 7 to 8 pm today and according to their website it's still "processing" and waiting for driver. I contacted support and was told it'll be delivered 10 to 11. It's past 11 and I still haven't received anything and their tracking website has not been updated. I recommend shopping somewhere else.
Your video was very informative. If you decide to pick your groceries up do they give you a time to do that or can you pick them up at your convenience and what happens if you are missing something is it easy to get credits or money back also is it easy to return something????

Signed up with Walmart grocery delivery in February, 2025. The last 2 orders were missing items that were on my list to be delivered. That's a problem. As they charged me for missing items. You have to check your bags.
I think they changed the substitution rule to charge actual substituted price, not original price.

Good luck getting a time slot the same day, the earliest you can get a "slot", is the following day. I don't know what they're trying to call "same-day delivery". Call it what it is.

My Walmart does not communicate with us. The only option we have, is to return items that we are not happy with (substituted items). At least w Instacart, the shopper communicates by even sending pictures of substitute item and lets me pick.

That's why I'm afraid to order from my local Walmart ... none of their departments , not their customer service or anybody have answered the phone in over 2 years ... except for their Pharmacy .
Walmart grocery delivery is horrible. I've had to go back and pick a new delivery date/time because my previous one expired.....3 times now! I did not find this out via email, they never send one to let you know what is going on. I went back to the page that I luckily saved and saw the little message in the choose date/time box. Then when I choose a new date/time and end up going back to the first screen after I do so, it's always different than the date/time I actually chose. Again, no email to let you know what is going on and what to expect. I also have no idea if I have to check out again because again, they do not email you to let you know what is going on with the status of your order. For all I know I may have ordered the same stuff 3 times now, I apparently won't know until I see charges on my card. Use another means of delivery, not walmart.
How do I tip the driver? I don’t see an option in the Walmart app, and I was never sent an order number through another delivery service like shipt or door dash

2) Let’s discuss what’s called tip baiting.. We Walmart drivers drive to make either extra needed income or full time to make a living and to take care of our families and our responsibilities. In my case I have bad health and this allows me to continue to work and take care of my family and my responsibilities. We drivers see tip baiting way too often. It’s sad. Tip baiting is when the customer puts a tip onto the order then goes back in once their order has been completed and completely removes it. This is theft and should be illegal but it happens to us all the time! Would anyone go to a restaurant, order, get good service, leave a tip then go back in and pick up the tip once the waiter or waitress sees it and steal it? No, they wouldn’t. Then why should this happen to delivery drivers? But yet it does. When this has happened to me, I black ball them and never again deliver to them or on that street. I keep a record of bad experiences. However, There’s always two sides to a coin so let’s look at both sides while we’re discussing food and/or grocery deliveries.
Let’s talk when we sometimes don’t pay attention and actually don’t check the tip until after the order comes and we base it on actual service just like the water service, if we feel the service was bad then maybe that might have been the reason the tip was completely removed, I have reduced the tip myself on many occasions for different reasons so you have to take into account why they may have removed it all together funds might not have been available to accommodate the extra cost or they felt the service was not worth it consider all factors before condemning your customer
Stopped all Walmart deliveries.
Handicapped and can't get out front door, in wheelchair, steps.
They have pho num and explicit instruction to go to back door.
Signs all over, even requested to sign for order.
A problem every time! EVEN HAD DELIVERIES STOLEN FROM FRONT DOOR.
Customer service always says it won't happen again, and it ALWAYS does.
Neighbor helped bring order in one day and it wasn't pretty after sitting in 80 deg heat for hours two of the bags were full of ants. Simply, they don't give a shit!
I have the Walmart + and yes it’s very convenient but we are charged the price difference for all substitutions there is no price break between the original items and the substitution.
Most of the delivery drivers are decent there are a few I can pass on though but very few I wish we can make a request for specific people it would make life easier for some because they can get to know quirks. Especially when your elderly
The hand-held computer will reject anything that isn’t in the ballpark price of the original item. If you don’t want to pay any difference (however small), just mark “no substitutions”. Then you won’t get it at all if they’re out.
yeah, they changed this recently. they used to offer higher priced subs for the price of the original item. now you pay the difference. i've definitely noticed that employees frequently are unable to find your original choice when the sub is priced higher since the change. i've become much more picky about my subs since, many times opting for no substitution.

@@Clark Yes, I have a problem. I tried twice using the Walmart App to purchase my groceries for delivery & the acrylic code wouldn't accept my food stamp card. The isn't anything wrong with my EBT Card & I have enough funds. Who do I talk to about this issue because I know my groceries can still be delivered to my address.
What you're missing is that you're totaling as if someone wanted to have it delivered once a month for an entire year. Some go more than once a month, like weekly or bi-weekly. So, the yearly membership would save them extra trips within each month. So if you always only go once a month, then the membership wouldn't suit you. But I see most people do more than 1 trip each month.
im curious what states/areas these comments are in, some seem like hit or miss, what i might do, and think you should also do is to test it first, order some fruit, meat, and something like lunchmeat and see how it goes, also i know it most likely also depends on the driver and person putting it in the car but yeah, might try it out one time to see.
Very terrible customer service
Even if the mistake is on their side, they will not help you out , the only thing they will do is refunding. I am diabetic type 1 and I ordered my grocery for Saturday,it never been delivered,the app said your order is late.I call them to know why. they just said it is technical issue and suggest to refund me. I had 3 times hypoglycemia waiting and at the end nothing. Really frustrating.At least you can make deliver my items the day after or the hours after,it is your mistake not mine.

Seriously, done with walmart delivery. You pay nearly $100 a year PLUS Tips on top of that for food to be delivered damaged and inedible.
Food comes spoiled, defrosted/melted, etc. Fresh produce is a joke, but I doubt anybody shops walmart for fresh produce.
The issue is even prepackaged food comes damaged. My last delivery, I FINALLY REFUSED the order because the driver spent over a half hour near a Lowe's hardware store with NO decernible place to deliver other groceries to.
I am guessing he took a smoke break and fell asleep or something....
Please take the spoiled food back to Walmart, where they will put it back on the shelf for the next VICTIM.

Be very careful when you ordering off Walmart online because they tacked on the $98 membership fee and I did not want that. And then the amount stay in my bank account for two solid days pending. I had to argue with Customer Service for two days so that I would only be charged for the amount of my groceries the delivery time and the tip for the driver.I didn’t appreciate Walmart tacking that on like that I will never use this again ever
