You know, a while back I read a snarky comment from a subscriber who was pretty upset because they were under the assumption you received the NLR traction plus free. They threatened to leave the channel. And you retorted and explained the system was on loan and furthermore, if they had any idea how much time you put into your channel on top of a full-time job they would extend more respect.
You're not kidding, just realizing how many processes you undertake to present to us quality material to make informed decisions is mind blowing. Thank you for the sacrifices you make in your personal life to make this channel something we all enjoy (sim racing) enjoyable.

This may have already been mentioned, but your explanation about DLSS was incorrect. It does not dynamically scale the resolution, it uses a static resolution which is selected depending on which "DLSS Quality" setting is chosen, with "performance" being the lowest internal resolution. Then, it uses a machine learning algorithm to artificially create new pixels to bring the final resolution back to the desired resolution. From what I've found, performance mode halves the internal resolution before applying the machine learning algorithm to create new pixels. The sharpness selection then, from what I understand, is just a traditional sharpness filter applied after the machine learning algorithm to make the final image look more sharp. Basically, unsharp mask without the ability to change the radius, and the percentage being how much sharpening is applied.

Note: setting a frame rate limit to exactly what the monitor refresh rate is can hurt performance if there is no variable refresh rate sync. This is because the GPU is not guaranteed to output a frame at the exact interval the monitor is refreshing at.

Hello, if you play with curved monitor, like the new ultra Gear tested by boost media, it will be more complex.
The images will be stretched to the sides, so use projection correction at a value of 1.This will blur your image in the center, to remedy this it will be necessary to desactivate the DLSS and increase the resolution to 120%.
It cost FPS but The image will finally appear realistic and correct

  • @Nago15

For AMD users: the teporal upsampling is working very well in this game, very similar to what FSR2 does, so it can be used instead of DLSS to get a lot more fps, but you must apply the right amount of TAA to get a nice result, depending on your screen resolution. This is what I use on my RX470: resolution 2160p, resolution scale: 50% (so it's rendering in 1080p), antialisaing: high, antialisaing type: TAA, TAA gen 5 is optional, you get a nicer result with on, but more fps with off. And the most important: Temporal upsampling on. And don't forget to set every sharpening setting to 0%. The minimum settings to make the shadows look nice and the cars not floaty: shadowns, shadow distance and post processing to mid. You can also set view distance to low, car lod quality to 25% and turn off contact shadowns without hurting the overall image quality and get more fps.

Time to necro comment, with regard to frame rates and monitor refresh rates, if you’re not able to achieve frame rates matching your monitor’s refresh rate or exceeding it, you want to run say 1/2 the frames of your refresh if you’re under or some other fraction of your frames that would mesh up evenly, same with going over. So in your case with 144hz monitors and already seeing frames in the 70-80 range, I’d personally lock it in at 72 and see how that looks for your smoothness, it can also help with those dips.

Thanks for the tip on the screen resolution setting in the *.json file. I will try that out. 1. Do you set the resolution in the *.jsaon to 3840 x 2160 or to 11520 x 2160 (or whatever the bezel corrected setting is) as it will be set in NVIDIA Surround? 2. What is your horizontal eye level in relation to the center line of the screens? The bottom of the screens looks very low. I have 3 x 55' 4K 120Hz screens and set it as low as the stands allowed me to. Maybe I need to raise my rig a bit. 3. How far are your eyes from the center screen? 3. I assume that you set the angle of the side screens in such a way that your eyes are the same distance to the centers of all three screens. I'm running an AMD 5800X3D paired with a 3090Ti and would like to get the maximum out of it.

You can run without full screen for triples, set to disabled and use 'Windowed Borderless Gaming' tool, set the resolutions in there, with negative 1 screen offset for left most side and it will capture the exe once the game is running. Then no issues switching out to other screens\windows or messing with json config file. And no need for nvidia surround.

Dear All , me again :) ok this is where I am today . As you know I changed my triple screens setup for three brand new Aorus fo48u screens and I've been playing ACC for the past couple of days.
I have my settings on high which my PC should be able to manage fine. I usually get 85+ FPS.
Those monitors are adaptive-sync enable .
I am also using nvidia surround and I was able to successfully enable gsync via the nvidia control panel.
My FPS always stays consistently high and I never see it dipping, however I do notice a lot of micro stuttering now when playing , I never had this issue before and the only thing that has changed on my setup are the screens . The game is not as smooth as it used to be , this is a reality and this is even creating a lot of fatigue for the eyes .
I also tried different fixes I found here and there but nothing sees to be doing the trick .
No other game I play has this issue, for example AC and MAS2 are perfectly fine.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and what I can do to fix it? thanks

    • @dd-gk1tv
      @dd-gk1tv 2 года назад

Ok I have a very first level of answer . It looks like nvidia surround is NOT compatible with gsync . I was able to proove this by using the pendulum nvidia demo . When surround is desactivated I can run the demo and click on the gsync option and it work . With nvidia surround activated it does not work .... so now the question , are we able to run ACC WITHOUT NVIDIA surround ? if someone knows a working trick please reach out to me , I tried SWRE but it does not work on my machine . thanks all !

    Hello,
It's amazing in 2022 that with the powerful pc's on the market to have such a poorly optimized graphics engine like this UE4
May I remind you that this engine does not manage the triplescreen and it is emulated !
The problem is that Kunos has done nothing since its release on the poor quality and rendered on 3 screens and vr
This game was made on a management of 1 screen without taking into account the triplescreen and the vr
When I see the poor quality of mirrors and shadows
I'm in triplescreen in 2K 32" with the best config from AMD
From me yes 4K is useless in Simracing because no simracing game manages that !
I'm surprised that people don't to tell the truth about this rendering which is not what a game should be offered with the powerful PCs on the market !
When we see the rendering on Assetto 1 which is more than 8 years old and modders make this more beautiful than the UE4 engine which is normally one of the best graphics engines but badly used by Kunos
I tried all at the settings level and the result is the same and this is not because of the pc or the screens but of the source
    Best regards

Wasn't the world wide consensus always to set the FPS Limit 3 FPS below your screens resolution ?
Because setting it at the exact limit of the screen can lead to small hickups when it goes 0.1 or 0.2 over because the synchonization isn't within the limits anymore and even GSYNC/FreeSync need to react to that whilst they usually would just work the lower end FPS to be smooth. Thats at least what almost everyone says, so I am just curious if this has changed or what other reason is there you keep it at the exact Screen-Frequenzy?

If you're only getting 70-80 frames anyway, why not cap it to 72 fps? So the image gets refreshed every 2 cycles and you gain a bit of overhead you might use for a bit more fidelity...
