- The Miami Hurricanes dominated the Confusion Bowl, scoring on the opening drive on their way to a 38-3 victory. It was the Miami running game that controlled the game. Henry Parrish Jr. ran for 90 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Mark Fletcher Jr. also got nine carries and he ran for 76 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke threw for 201 yards and a touchdown on 17-22 passing. The Hurricanes defense held Miami (OH) to 215 total yards, and had two sacks and six tackles for loss.

I couldn't be happier for these Hurricanes! Everyone seemed to contribute. The play-calling and execution was very good and as expected for the most part in an opener against a talented team. Go Canes!! 🙌🏼

Offense got rolling and defense looked good ,but more importantly the defense played all 60 minutes of good play
In last year's first game we won by a bunch, but I felt we were kind of fluffy. We were outgained at HT, believe it or not. Not this time.
They played a crappy team last year that was still moving the ball fairly easy on them. UM never looked good on defense last year.
@@dpollard5286 Last year, Middle Tennessee State (8-5) was better than this team (6-7). Miami OH's offense was awful averaging 20.2 PPG (113th) but their defense was better allowing 22.6 PPG (35th).
The real test comes next week when they face TAMU (5-7 in 2022) who only beat them by one score, 9-17 last year (@ TAMU). In the SEC, the Aggies lost to @ Alabama by 4, @ So. Carolina by 6, Ole Miss by 3 and @ Auburn by 3. The only teams that scored more than 6 points against them were Florida (+17) and @ Mississippi State (+18). They did defeat LSU in their last game , 38-23, and beat New Mexico 52-10 in their first game this year. IOW, Miami can make a big statement this year by defeating what appears to be a much improved TAMU team.

Another gtreat thing about this game was the stadium was almost completely full unlike past years, our fans really showed up and next week is sold out, nan things are really looking up now.

Look guys it's just a win. Nobody in their right mind thought Miami of Ohio had any chance of competing with the Miami hurricane
ne. So, before you write them in as a national powerhouse, let them play somebody. SMH!!!!!
I was not impressed at all with the canes on offense.
A couple of points:
-They pushed an undersized DL from Ohio around a lot.I expect that to happen against undersized 2 star DL. Not happening tomorrow.
-Those gaping holes won’t be there against A&M which equals throwing more. Not Miami’s strength.
-The secondary couldn’t cover #10 from Ohio. We’ve got 4 guys bigger and faster. Huge mismatch for the canes.
-I expect them to zone up and keep long passes to a minimum. Score will be on the lower end, but Miami will trail most of the game.
And then what happened?
@@James58Rams Props to the canes, they’re a good team and I hope they win out. A&M couldn’t tackle (240 YAC) but were solid against the run. Miami’s defense was solid and they were fired up for this game.

The UM campus is in Coral Gables, surrounded by multi-million dollar homes all around. There is zero land on campus for a stadium, and nothing anywhere close in that part of Miami. Not to mention the absolute hell traffic around campus can be. Plus, you can’t build anything in Coral Gables without a zillion permits, oversight boards, community approval, city architectural and aesthetic review board, act of Congress, and approval from the pope.
Saw a story on a Miami booster proposing a new stadium at tropical park near campus.
We still need a quarter back. Van just isnt very good . And that defensive backfield will get torched against power 5 teams. D line looks weak and still can't tackle, hand fighting with ball carrier going right by them. Like their eyes are closed.

How you come to that conclusion? I usually judge the first game based on the defensive and offensive line and I think they both did well tonight, especially the defensive line
