Hey man, just wanted to say I appreciate your mod! Played my second playthrough with it and it made the game so much better! I also mixed it with the MGS Raiden mod AND I GOTTA SAY! It matched perfectly with Raiden. Especially the One mind ability where u turn red making you look like Jack the Ripper and if u play Raiden with Shura skin he's red so it was like a whole new game like a MGR sequel I loved every second and got all Achievements!
This is awesome! The mod was already great, but this update has really smoothed some of the rough edges and it now looks super polished and professinal. And bro, homie, compadre, what in the hell was the Radahns commet animaition?? Like YOOO that was impressive as all there is and will be! When you showed that far away shot at 2:38 I was like "huh?" and then he did the move and I was like "HUH?!". Fan girling aside, the changes you made are great. Shuras mind better reflecting second phases old man Issin with that fire cone fits alot better than a second round of slashes, the addition of icons and descriptions to the arts goes a long way to making the mod feel more professinal, and that Radahn's commet sub skill is a really great fit for the flavour and function of the primary attack. One thing I feel I should mention is that disengage skill, what is it? I'm not sure if I just missed a video, but isn't that an entirely new subclass of ability? It feels a little brushed over and I would like if you could go a little more in depth as to what a disenage skill exactly is. Great work as always mate, Cheers!
Thanks for your guidance on some of those things! Yeah I think now Shura's Mind does not feel OP and it actually has a unique function, this isn't the end of me polishing / reworking things. Radahn's Comet was actually in the works in the previous video 'This Game is no longer Sekiro' and you can see the animations a little more, because afaik there isn't an efficient way to control vertical momentum, I used the upwards and downwards strong swim dashes with gravity turned off to allow it to move correctly. The disengage skill is purely just because 'Nightjar Reversal Slash' has that function and will probably only be for that, I just needed a name for it haha, it felt strange leaving it there untouched. Basically, when used it will force enemies to lose sight of you as long as that vignette around the screen is up (bloodsmoke effect works the same way), it'll probably get shuffled round later. The problem is there are few skills that support the way Radahn's Comet works, it requires an airborne attack into an airborne hang, into a landing animation... most other combat arts will have an airborne attack into a landing animation, and not that 3rd part which is critical.

Now that isn’t really an answer on what is next specifically but the design philosophy will be that. I think as an example Radahn’s Comet serves a unique function: AOE knockover, doesn’t deal huge damage and makes you feel powerful. Now I could be naive in thinking it’s not OP but it is really the best example I can think of right now, if all skills can serve some kind of unique purpose like that then I will view them as a success. Right now things aren’t perfect obviously but are moving forward in the right direction at least.
@@BandicootPWR That's a great design philosphy, but just remember not to over do it ya know? Some moves are meant to be flashy and super powerful and that's just apart of the charm of the move. Always remember to balance out power with a large cost to the player (high spirit emblem cost, health loss, a debuff, long startup). For example Rahdahn's commet looks insanely powerful and the player should feel that. You could make the move deal *tons* of damage on hit, have a huge hitbox, and deal pusback but also have it cost four spirit emblems, give the player the on fire debuff after use, and give it a long start up. That's just my two cents anyways. If you wanna do something completely different then that's your call, I'll still be here to see whatever you do next!
@@jamesstent Couldn't agree more about the cost to the player thing. Actually on the topic of emblem costs, there is one big problem I have with them. Some moves do not have an alternate animation that triggers when a cost requirement is not satisfied, that includes the Nightjar Slash Combat Art which is Radahn's Comet currently. Sure I could sap away your spirit emblems and it may affect your ability to do some others, but you could spam Radahn's Comet all day. But yes penalties are something to consider... I'm no game designer so I'm just using my own reasoning and the advice of the community. I think there is always going to be people who like and don't like the changes, I just hope to stay in the majority. So I do appreciate dialogue with loyal supporters such as yourself to keep my perspectives grounded.
You know when I fought inner genichiro for the first time and saw him perform Sakura dance , I literally fell in love with that technique not just because it did incredibly high damage to wolf but also because it looked kinda "beautiful" . It was long ranged and used to give me a strong feeling as well. But when I defeated him and tried that technique (in vanilla version) it didn't looked that beautiful, in fact there was a noticeable difference between Sakura dance performed by wolf and genichiro . It wasn't that long ranged and to think that u cannot perform Sakura dance exactly like geni used to hurt me a lot But I wanna say thanks to you coz u fixed that problem as well :) Your mod is dope af 🔥
Same thoughts here man, I think not just the range but there is a certain weight to the strikes that is conveyed better through the unique audio that Geni has.
The reason why Genichiro does that move much better than us is because he learned that directly from Lady Tomoe, his teacher, who was a master of the Okami arts. We're just learning a lesser version of it from him. Think of it as some parts of it getting lost in translation. At least that's what I would like to think, cuz combat art knowledge of different characters is very much linked to lore, that's why Wolf generally fights with the Shinobi and Ashina arts best.
Same here when i first time saw genechiro do sakura dance i was more desperately to have that move in arsenal than being desperate to flirt with crush lmao... but guess what when i had that move i didn't really like it as much...however bandicool made it look so beautiful
The vfx work on Radahan's Comet is exceptional! Btw I haven't looked at the vfx file but does the mortal draw circle vfx use a sound effect that's only loaded with Isshin or does it use sound effects from main.fsb?
Thanks man. Hmm there is an initial sound effect tied to the one I use, but I don't know if there is more, Isshin uses a follow-up atttack (larger circle) so there are more sound sources potentially.
Hi Bandicoot, first thank you for your amazing mods. I had an idea for an Elden Ring mod that is easy to implement (I think) but will drastically improve the combat system: Sekiro parry can't be implemented in Elden Ring for obvious reasons: too many different weapons and enemies. But when I played Dark Souls 3 Cinders mod I noticed an amazing new feature: raising your shield/weapon to block at the exact time the enemy hits you, the shield glows and no stamina is consumed. If you're skilled with blocking, this mechanic lets you counter efficiently 50 hits combos that could be avoided only by rolling like a marble down a hill. If Cinders modders put that into Dark Souls 3, it should be relatively easy to mod it to Elden Ring. It will make the combat system more skill-rewarding and suitable even for builds that have fat roll or want to block with the weapon. Additional feature: we could also make it like a perfect block also puts Determination on your RH weapon, thus making guard counter more powerful. Guard counter is an amazing addition to the game, but it's extremely situational when fighting hyper aggressive foes. This feature is just an addition to the base timed block idea, and could be removed/made optional. I'm looking for a modder that wants to try to implement my idea
I have seen some indie souls like games implementing this idea and it was really good , having normal parries which are risky but stagger the enemy immediately if successful while als have perfect block which is safer but takes longer to stagger an enemy The name of the game that has all of that is death gambit afterlife , great game
Damn that faraway shot of Radahn's comet is stunning, its a shame theres probably no way to get the camera to zoom way out when performed in gameplay and then zoom back in. Unless you do find a way to do this in the future, in which case it'll be even cooler. I thought it would be op but against the monkeys I was surprised, takes about the same time to kill them just spamming the cleave spear in vanilla, not op at all (which is good imo).
The camera zooms out ever so slightly actually, and that was intentional. It's a finicky thing to implement, if I find a better camera event to copy I can put that in later.
This game is becoming more anime than it already was (which it already was pretty anime on it's own, with and without mods) and I'm liking what I see even more. Keep up the excellent work! Question: Does this mod include quick switching the Combat Arts to make battling quicker and non-disruptive, or can you use a quick switch mod if no?

Am not trying to be disrespectful or anything but I see the nerf is a mistake cuz most of the people downloading the mod already finished the game and trying to spice the game up so I think it’s unnecessary to nerf things And for the mod itself you guys did a great job
I must say some of them are way more spectacular than in Elden, very well made. If it possible to recolor lightning and flame, would be cool something like frost lightning or frostflame stuff. Also when i first say the godslayer greatsword aow, immediately remembered Geni swinging the black katana.
Looks sick AF! The prosthetic retrieval animation on the Blackflame sweep stands out a bit though, I'm not familiar with how to mod Sekiro, so I don't know how hard it is to remove parts of an animation (though I imagine that's not easy), but if it's possible I think losing that bit of the animation would really sell that move. Love the way Owl's High Monk looks now and am also a big fan of Shura's Mind... honestly I'm a fan of how all of them look :P I'm not sure how I feel about moves applying sugar buffs and the like, sword buffs I think mostly work fine but overriding sugars feels a lot like a downside. I'm too much of a Yasha addict to deal with having Gokan or Ungo active XD
I don't think it's possible unfortunately, I could disguise it with effects potentially, but I'll look at it before I update things again. I completely understand your view on the sugar buffs, as more things get reworked they may be phased out. This is all a learning process as I go so each update gives me more insight and then when I revisit stuff I have a fresh pair of eyes.

I have a suggestion, can you add a penalty to some of the arts to make them more balanced. (like when you ues Rivers Of Blood it will take a percentage of your HP) if it impossible or is not what you intended don't bother you self. and Thank for all your great work 😸😸

That Radahn's comet is absolutely beautiful. Btw, will there be any plans for more "vanilla" looking moves? (It'll still be anime as fuck, but it looks somewhat believeable that from would make such a thing) either way, im hyped to see where the mod ends up. Keep up the good work!
Probably nothing crazier than Radahn's Comet. There will be two more abilities released to replace Ashina Cross and Mortal Blade. Also some minor reworks of previous skills.
Tis the combat art I'm struggling with, so far I had only tried making it more like Emma's or Isshin's but the effects from their strikes don't line up. While Isshin / Emma do a '+' shape, Sekiro's is more of a tilted 'X'. I can try a moonveil idea, it's just there aren't really effects in the game that look like those strikes (maybe the Shichimen's Comet Azur type ability is closest idk).
@@jamesstent Those particles are absolutely huge, I tried a few of them for Mortal Blade actually. I know you can recolour, but I'm not sure about resizing. If I can't resize them they will look ridiculous haha.
You'll need to unlock the skills they replaced during the main game, if you want all of them from the start, you can use the debug console to unlock all skills.
Yup, although moves that leverage 'Sakura Dance' like 'Lazulite Dance' will overwrite 'Tomoe's Sakura Dance', but you can make a decision on which one you want.

@@Shadow-ss2sb Yeah if you want to do it yourself you'll need to unpack the c0000 file with Yabber and swap out what you want, but I am looking to add a version with Sakura Arts later down the road when Elden Arts is complete.
I'd have to check what it changes BUT, the critical folders for this mod are 'chr' and 'param'. You can get away with losing the rest. I would say you'd have to merge gameparam files.
@@mcjamster9217 I’ve not done it myself but you would need to find the rows that I created and copy them into resurrection’s. Paramstudio or yapped are the tools you can use for gameparam edits
i see, wondering how you would redo Starlight Passage's sub-skill since it's transfered to Radahn's Comet, thank you for being passionate as always with this update. sidenote, i think each CA should only follow a scheme of maxinum 2 primary colors (either its effects/buffs) otherwise they might be too overwhelming and less iconic (Radahn's Comet whole kit's effects has a total of 4 different colors from what i can see: lavender, baby blue, tiger red & mint)
i trying using trainer to get max skill point to spend to gain damage i try it so much about 100+ i forgot but the damage dont have any change, its feel the same.. is from soft trolling us???

A lot of people requesting this, it would be quite hard to merge / be missing features. It may be a while but I will give it some thought when the mod is complete.
Is there some way to merge this with another basic moveset mod? like Sakura Art mod? i like mods but im not good at modding tho. Regardless this is a phenomenal work indeed
You’ll need Yabber to unpack and swap around TAE groups for that. So basic attacks are stored in a50. Unpack both mods’ c0000.anibnd.dcx file and then they should spit out an a50 file each, then you can drag and drop, pack the file back up with yabber and presto
Hi i'm new to Sekiro and using the mod, I'm trying to use Radahn's Comet but all I can do is the Gravity Pull sub-skill. Is there a Prosthetic I need to have?
I'm really not that much into playing a game over again and I've never beaten sekiro so far. Would you say it's mandatory for me to beat the game vanilla first or can I just play with the mod without having beaten this game normally, cuz this looks hella epic and it would surely make me have a lot more fun, than I would have normally
I would say it's worth giving vanilla a try first, see how that experience feels. This mod makes a lot of the fights a bit more trivial so I wouldn't recommend it for first-time players.

As for the mod there is one called 'The Art of Battle' that can be used in conjunction with Elden Arts.

Am not trying to be disrespectful or anything but I see the nerf is a mistake cuz most of the people downloading the mod already finished the game and trying to spice the game up so I think it’s unnecessary to nerf things

If it possible to recolor lightning and flame, would be cool something like frost lightning or frostflame stuff.
Also when i first say the godslayer greatsword aow, immediately remembered Geni swinging the black katana.
It’s possible, I need dang photoshop to get RGB32 values for the right colour then it’s a matter of moving some numbers in a text file.

The prosthetic retrieval animation on the Blackflame sweep stands out a bit though, I'm not familiar with how to mod Sekiro, so I don't know how hard it is to remove parts of an animation (though I imagine that's not easy), but if it's possible I think losing that bit of the animation would really sell that move.
Love the way Owl's High Monk looks now and am also a big fan of Shura's Mind... honestly I'm a fan of how all of them look :P
I'm not sure how I feel about moves applying sugar buffs and the like, sword buffs I think mostly work fine but overriding sugars feels a lot like a downside. I'm too much of a Yasha addict to deal with having Gokan or Ungo active XD
I don't think it's possible unfortunately, I could disguise it with effects potentially, but I'll look at it before I update things again.
I completely understand your view on the sugar buffs, as more things get reworked they may be phased out. This is all a learning process as I go so each update gives me more insight and then when I revisit stuff I have a fresh pair of eyes.

I have a suggestion, can you add a penalty to some of the arts to make them more balanced. (like when you ues Rivers Of Blood it will take a percentage of your HP)

That Radahn's comet is absolutely beautiful. Btw, will there be any plans for more "vanilla" looking moves? (It'll still be anime as fuck, but it looks somewhat believeable that from would make such a thing) either way, im hyped to see where the mod ends up. Keep up the good work!
Probably nothing crazier than Radahn's Comet. There will be two more abilities released to replace Ashina Cross and Mortal Blade.
Also some minor reworks of previous skills.
Just realised something, moonviel ashina cross would be perfect right? I'm sure you could do it justice with your modding wizardry lol.
Tis the combat art I'm struggling with, so far I had only tried making it more like Emma's or Isshin's but the effects from their strikes don't line up. While Isshin / Emma do a '+' shape, Sekiro's is more of a tilted 'X'. I can try a moonveil idea, it's just there aren't really effects in the game that look like those strikes (maybe the Shichimen's Comet Azur type ability is closest idk).
@@BandicootPWR That's a shame, what about the dragons wind projectiles? Can you recolor or resize a projectile like that?
@@jamesstent Those particles are absolutely huge, I tried a few of them for Mortal Blade actually. I know you can recolour, but I'm not sure about resizing. If I can't resize them they will look ridiculous haha.

You'll need to unlock the skills they replaced during the main game, if you want all of them from the start, you can use the debug console to unlock all skills.

Can you use Sakura arts and elden arts since this mod only changes the combat arts?
Yup, although moves that leverage 'Sakura Dance' like 'Lazulite Dance' will overwrite 'Tomoe's Sakura Dance', but you can make a decision on which one you want.

@@Shadow-ss2sb Yeah if you want to do it yourself you'll need to unpack the c0000 file with Yabber and swap out what you want, but I am looking to add a version with Sakura Arts later down the road when Elden Arts is complete.

I'd have to check what it changes BUT, the critical folders for this mod are 'chr' and 'param'. You can get away with losing the rest. I would say you'd have to merge gameparam files.

@@mcjamster9217 I’ve not done it myself but you would need to find the rows that I created and copy them into resurrection’s. Paramstudio or yapped are the tools you can use for gameparam edits

sidenote, i think each CA should only follow a scheme of maxinum 2 primary colors (either its effects/buffs) otherwise they might be too overwhelming and less iconic (Radahn's Comet whole kit's effects has a total of 4 different colors from what i can see: lavender, baby blue, tiger red & mint)

Sure it’s possible but I’m trying to stay away from lightning atm, because there are now 3 abilities that utilise it.

You’ll need Yabber to unpack and swap around TAE groups for that. So basic attacks are stored in a50. Unpack both mods’ c0000.anibnd.dcx file and then they should spit out an a50 file each, then you can drag and drop, pack the file back up with yabber and presto

You may be missing the 'mid-air combat arts' ability on your save. You have to perform this in mid-air.

I'm really not that much into playing a game over again and I've never beaten sekiro so far. Would you say it's mandatory for me to beat the game vanilla first or can I just play with the mod without having beaten this game normally, cuz this looks hella epic and it would surely make me have a lot more fun, than I would have normally
I would say it's worth giving vanilla a try first, see how that experience feels. This mod makes a lot of the fights a bit more trivial so I wouldn't recommend it for first-time players.
