i love how the actors commit to their parts in these clearly low budget, completely fantastical, sometimes slightly sleezy mission briefings. they just have fun with it.
There is an interview somewhere on RUclips with the actress who did Lt. Eva. If I remember correctly she keeps an unopened package of the games on display in her home, it's her prized jewel or something like that.
Most of them are real actors, so of course they commit. Kari Wuhrer (Agent Tanya) and Aleksandra Kaniak (Lt. Zofia) are professional TV show actresses to this day, as well as Ray Wise (American President), who was a popular TV show actor in the 90s, and especially Udo Kier (Yuri), who was a famous Hollywood actor long before he starred in the game. Let's also not forget Igor Zhizhikin, who played a generic bad Russian in many movies, one of his most notable roles was in the 2008 Indiana Jones movie, and he voiced the Tesla Troopers in RA2, and his face is even on the box art of RA2. And what's even cooler is that they're all still acting today, how fucking awesome is that! This game has a famous cast, I would say, and I don't think it's really as "low budget" as you think.
Just FYI, there's actually a trick to fool the psychic dominator ;) The psychic dominator could mind-control units in a grid of 3x3, but the AI selects its target based on the number of player's units in a 5x5 grid. So a strategy would be to deploy a few units at the boundary of a 5x5 grid, and some mind-control resistant units (terror drones, miners, etc.) in the inner 3x3 grid to lure the psychic dominator to fire at the center of the grid. This way, Yuri will constantly keep using the dominator to control the units in the grid with no unit being actually controlled.
I know in red alert 1 the AI also does the scan from top left then goes right jumps back to the left side goes down one and scans the next row of the map. so you also need to know how it scans so that it picks thoes specific 5 units.
Something really fun that I discovered completely by accident about that last mission: You can sell the allied construction yard over and over again and they keep chronoing in more and more tanks. I did this for ages and then rolled over Yuri's base with a massive army of "free" tanks.
@@exyl_sounds It's what you don't learn about in history class. Egypt was actually wrecking the Greeks with their silly little footmen. Then the TRex nation attacked.

In "Clones Down Under" you can save the Black Eagles. Observed a trigger in a recent attempt of mine which fires after all Boomers are dead. It triggers the Eagles, attack waves, infantry production and garrisons units inside buildings. Garrisoned infantry actually just spawns next to builds out of thin air and then garrison which is kinda funny since it looks like they enter the building they came out from. As for how to break the trigger you just make a Boomer aggro on some building or land unit and shoot its missiles. Trigger will not fire until Boomer is dead and you can just destroy the towers, saving those pilots. And uh cheese the entire mission since there isn't much you deal with.
Man I felt your pain when you said you played the campaign in the wrong difficulty. The final allied mission has always been strange for me; I either roll over yuri or get rolled over, dont quite know why lol
