If you're going to spend thousands on performance parts, the smart thing to do is have it dyno tuned by a reputable tuner. TTS Master tune is the best, nothing stays on the bike but the new map.

The only real tuner among this lot is the Dynojet Power Vision. All others are piggyback systems that try to fool your ECM into seeing something else than is really there. Piggyback systems may result in error codes in your ECM, and may eventually get your ECM to prevent you from starting the bike up in an effort to protect it from permanent damage. Removing the piggyback system will restore the ECM, but you may be running very very lean at that point. The FP3 is a distant second with some actual tuning capabilities, but is very limited in comparison to the Power Vision, and the end result will be far from ideal, often resulting in a 30% lower engine output in the everyday RPM range compared to the Dynojet. Other real tuners not mentioned in this lineup are the ThunderMax and TTS tuners. If you're investing money in getting your motorcycle to perform better, get it dyno tuned. It's the best investment you can make to gain performance.

I have a 2016 Harley Street Bob with V&H short shots, and a naked air cleaner installed at the dealership with a Screamin Eagle tuner. I have some decel popping, the dealer told me to expect some popping. Im sure they are keeping it as lean as possible. Im looking at a Power Commander or the FP3 which would you suggest.
If you have an iPhone or Android smart phone, the FP3 will be the most user friendly fuel tuner by far. It also has many convenient diagnostic tools. I know for a fact that you can tweak how much popping you want with the FP3. Quite a cool feature. -TeamZilla Chris

which tuner for my 2000 FLHRCI? - I'm in the process of replacing the Magnetti-Marelli induction with a HorsePower Inc system (Delphi type). I currently have a Power Commander III USB but would also like the ability to tune it myself vs a dyno tuner which I've used several times in the past. The bike has a 95" BB kit, Rinehart TD's, headwork w/ larger int valves/springs, hydro cam conversion, 1.725 ratio roller rockers, etc, etc. FYI - I don't have problem using my laptop to fine-tune my bikes after they've been tuned on a dyno (DynoJet) but if I can avoid the dyno, hook me up!! I have a PC-V on my '03 FLHRSEI2 but it's not much different from the PC-III USB
This is gonna require a custom solution. Since you're changing up the fuel injection system, you'll need to call DynoJet directly (1-800-992-4993). Luckily, they'll be able to troubleshoot with you to find the best solution. We just can't guarantee a solution on our own. -DrewZilla
OK, I didn't know what the capabilities were on these new self-diagnosing fuel management systems. If I could buy one, maybe pay a little more than a PC-V & not have to have it dyno'd... thanks
+Daniel Cardo The Power Commander V is the most robust fuel controller, but it requires a PC to load fuel maps into the device. The easiest fuel controller to use with your bike is the Cobra FI2000R. It comes with a map for your specific bike but allows basic fuel adjustment right from the device. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-commander-v-fuel-ignition-for-yamaha-v-star-xv950-2009-2015 *www.revzilla.com/product/cobra-fi2000r-digital-fuel-processor-09-yamaha-v-star-950-2009
its a silly question but ones the once fuel management is complete you put away the system correct? Its not meant to ride around in is it? I'm looking to get the best product for an aftermarket exhaust and intake installation for my 2016 iron 883.
+Will Concho It depends on the fuel controller. "Piggy-back" systems need to remain attached to function (Power Commander), whereas systems that actually "flash" or alter the ECU (onboard computer) can be removed once a map is loaded (Power Vision). Our favorite fuel controller for the 2016 Iron 883 is the Vance and Hines FuelPak FP3. Here's why: -Recalibrates ECM by flash tuning -Autotune feature for added tuning precision -Can display live sensor data while riding -Can be removed from bike if live data or autotuning is not needed The live data and autotuning are such awesome features, that I'd personally just leave it attached all the time. It's hidden anyway, so it's not like it's unsightly. -DrewZilla
+Mariano C Any bike can benefit from fuel management, even a stock bike. However, if you're just doing a slip-on, you don't absolutely need a fuel controller. If you later install an aftermarket air cleaner, then you would want to consider a fuel controller. -DrewZilla
Our 750 street rod definitely yes. Backfires like crazy just with S. M. Muffler. Fp3 cleaned it right up. Still a little on deceleration but a big improvement. Loud.
Yes, but that tuner can only be used by the techs at the dealer. I'd recommend using a tuner you can easily use yourself, such as the Vance & Hines FP3. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/vance-hines-fuelpak-fp3-autotuner-for-harley-2011-2019
That's not true. You can use the screamin eagle tuner yourself. They give you the link to download the software to your laptop. You have to hook your laptop into your ecm though instead of Bluetooth like the fp3 does.
@@RevZilla @Zach Shiveley Thank you both for the response. I ask about a Screaming Eagle tuner for my Vance & Hines slip-ons because I understand I'd have to use a Screaming Eagle tuner on my bike in order for the warranty to remain valid, my Sportster 48 is four months old. The FP3 sounds like the best tuner to use, but I wouldn't know how to flash the bike anyway, so I'd have the dealer tech flash the bike. Is there any reason not to use a Screaming Eagle tuner for my 48? Wouldn't the SE help against decel backfiring and make the bike run better?
I would like to add K&N air filter to my 2016 V Rod Muscle. Which tuner is compatible with my bike? I already have Vance and Hines slip ons installed. Thanks
There are three options worth looking into, in my mind. The Dynojet Power Commander V, the Dynojet Power Vision, and the Cobra Fi2000. I wish Vance & Hines made an FP3 for that bike, but unfortunately they do not. -TeamZilla Chris *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-commander-v-for-harley-v-rod-2012-2017 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-power-vision-for-harley-j1850-2001-2017 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/cobra-fi2000-powrpro-black-for-harley-v-rod-2012-2016

If I was to buy an Xied fuel management system are there any benefits from it or is it better to spend the extra cash and buy something along the lines of PC5. I want to replace my pipes and A/C on my 2012 iron.
+Luke Wharton The Xied just adds 8% more fuel everywhere. That's not really "tuning". If replacing pipes and air cleaner, I recommend you get the Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3 for Harley 07-13. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/vance-hines-fuelpak-fp3-autotuner-for-harley-2007-2013
sweet that's what I wanted in the long run. I just want for the time being to bore out my stock baffles and enrich the fuel mixture. really want the fp3 when it eventually comes out.
How would you compare the FP3 with a screaming eagle pro tuner? Bike details: 2015 Sportster 48, stage 1, V&H short shots and screaming eagle heavy breather.
The Screamin' Eagle Pro Tuner is locked and can only be tuned at the Harley Dealer. With the FP3, you don't have to rely on the dealer. You can install and change fuel maps all by yourself using the FP3 smartphone app. The FP3 also allows live telemetry, so if you have your phone mounted on your bike, you can see live data (granted, that's a more technical feature that most people won't use). The FP3 also let's you read error codes. -DrewZilla
RevZilla thanks for the reply, the FP3 definitely sounds like the more practical choice then, do they both perform the same functions & program the bike just as well as the other? From a performance stand point?
The FP3 will get you the best result without a dyno. If you're going to have your bike professionally dyno-tuned, Harley will want to use their own SE Pro Tuner. Other dyno shops probably use a Dynojet dyno and so would want to tune using a Power Vision or Power Commander. For you and your Sportster, I'd say the FP3 will be the best bet. -DrewZilla
It depends on the regulations and warranty rules for your country. If you reinstall your stock engine map and remove one of these fuel management devices, then your engine will have the stock setting again. -DrewZilla
We have not tested these in conjunction with the X14iED. We do not recommend combining these systems, though, because the fuel management systems in this video can provide finer tuning and should make the X14iED unnecessary. -DrewZilla
With that much work, you'll probably want to have your bike dyno-tuned, so your local dyno-tuner will probably recommend the tuner they're most comfortable working with. That's probably a Power Commander or Power Vision. -DrewZilla
If I'm just doing exhaust and intake will the fuel pak be okay? Got short shots on now but I want to get rid of the stock 883XL intake now and that requires a tune hence why I'm here lol.
Your bike should be carbureted, so you would just tune the carb. Consider the Dynojet Recalibration Jet Kit. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dynojet-recalibration-jet-kit-for-harley-1996-2003

June 2019 I bought the v&h fuelpak lcd. contacted v&h for a map.As soon as they new i did not have THEIR intake or pipes, i was on the back burner . they didn,t give a shit about me .took them 10 weeks to get me a map. when i got it installed.... it lasted just a few days . the bike would not idle bellow 1900 , it would shut off going down the road. when power was applied it would cough & backfire. contacted v&h they said my bike was the problem . but when i took it off the bike ....it ran as before the fuel pak ..... just fine. my last contact with them was aug 29 2019. it is now april 10 2020 . no response from those idiots. My advise.. stay far away from vance and hines junk !!!!
Now I'm totally confused also.. I got a flhtc 2012 . Cc103 , I usually have a rider with me.. ( 2 of us ). I just am a stage one bike. Slip on Cobras and air intake. So which is best for me. ??
Hi this is Pankaj from India, I recently purchased a HD street 750 (2016 model) and I don't seem to get good mileage as promised by the dealer. While purchasing I upgraded to a Screaming Eagle exhaust and a Screaming Eagle Air Filter as suggested by the dealer. The vehicle seems to heat up like a burning piece of wood and throws a lot of hot air while I'm at the signals. Will any of these fuel paks help solve my issue? Thank you in advance!
yes if you haven't adjusted the fuel/air mix after modding intake and exhaust youre not adjusting to the changes they are putting on your engine and it will heat up and give you less mileage

Hi Guys, I just bought a 2017 Lowrider S. I want to put an exhaust and tuner on it but the dealer is warning me that i will void my warranty. I believe they said it is less to due with the change in exhaust and more to do with the new mapping. I read below that if i remove the controller and put it back to stock then i have a stock ECU. I would like to avoid having to all this just to bring the bike into the dealer. Could you do a video addressing the Harley warranty and my options.
We probably won't do a video, as those legal issues and grey areas are a bit too complex for us to cover. Honestly, the easiest thing to do is to use the Fuelpak FP3 to load the stock map before going to the dealer. It only takes about 5 minutes with a smartphone. -DrewZilla
I really want to do an aftermarket exhaust and a tune, honestly if I would have known this was going to be a problem I wouldn't have bought a new bike.

I've got a 2006 dyna street bob do these need a dyno tune after install
which tuner for my 2000 FLHRCI?
If I could buy one, maybe pay a little more than a PC-V & not have to have it dyno'd... thanks
Sure thing.
Can't believe you didn't bring up the Dobeck Products!
Awesome vid! Really hope to see a review of an Iron 883!!!!!
whats best fuel management device can is use for 09 yamaha vstar xvs950 fuel injected, equiped with vance & hines Big radious exhaust & k&n filter?
+Daniel Cardo The Power Commander V is the most robust fuel controller, but it requires a PC to load fuel maps into the device. The easiest fuel controller to use with your bike is the Cobra FI2000R. It comes with a map for your specific bike but allows basic fuel adjustment right from the device. -DrewZilla

its a silly question but ones the once fuel management is complete you put away the system correct? Its not meant to ride around in is it? I'm looking to get the best product for an aftermarket exhaust and intake installation for my 2016 iron 883.
+Will Concho It depends on the fuel controller. "Piggy-back" systems need to remain attached to function (Power Commander), whereas systems that actually "flash" or alter the ECU (onboard computer) can be removed once a map is loaded (Power Vision). Our favorite fuel controller for the 2016 Iron 883 is the Vance and Hines FuelPak FP3. Here's why:
-Recalibrates ECM by flash tuning
-Autotune feature for added tuning precision
-Can display live sensor data while riding
-Can be removed from bike if live data or autotuning is not needed
The live data and autotuning are such awesome features, that I'd personally just leave it attached all the time. It's hidden anyway, so it's not like it's unsightly. -DrewZilla
Do I need a Fuel Management kit if I just change my stock muffler for a S&M slip-on exhaust on my Harley XG750?
+Mariano C Any bike can benefit from fuel management, even a stock bike. However, if you're just doing a slip-on, you don't absolutely need a fuel controller. If you later install an aftermarket air cleaner, then you would want to consider a fuel controller. -DrewZilla
Our 750 street rod definitely yes. Backfires like crazy just with S. M. Muffler. Fp3 cleaned it right up. Still a little on deceleration but a big improvement. Loud.
Can the instillation of the fp3 void my harley warranty
While some dealers may say it will, our understanding from Harley HQ is that is will not void your warranty. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla can you guys share that document ... so I can bring it to my dealer
I have a 2018 Harley-Davidson Sportster 48 and want to do a Stage 1. Will a Screaming Eagle tuner work well with Vance & Hines slip-on pipes?
Yes, but that tuner can only be used by the techs at the dealer. I'd recommend using a tuner you can easily use yourself, such as the Vance & Hines FP3. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/vance-hines-fuelpak-fp3-autotuner-for-harley-2011-2019
What would be compatible for an iron 883 with reinhart 3' slip ons, thinking of upgrading to a better air filter
It depends on the model year. What year is your bike? -DrewZilla
RevZilla 2017
RevZilla hey revzilla it's a 2017 year model
I have the same setup. Im thinking the FP3
To all: is there one product that isn't chained to our VIN bikes, so we can used it on another bike if we end up selling the first one ? Cheers
Just put it. In the selling price
-TeamZilla Chris

The only fuel controller we have for your bike is the Arlen Ness Cheap Shot. For additional tuning, we'd recommend getting your bike dyno'd. -DrewZilla

what will dyno do
brian miner give you an exact number for your torque and hp through your entire rpm band and then have a professional tune you're bike to get the max from each
What tuner would you recommend for a 2017 lowrider-s with thunderheads? I do plan on doing more work on the motor in the future but only have the exhaust now....Ive used the FP3 on my 16 sporty I traded in but is the power vision better? what would you recommend
I'd recommend the FP3. -DrewZilla
Shit the powervision is on fedex and arriving today, I got the tuner, mount and visor for 430$
That's a great deal, so I wouldn't worry about it. -DrewZilla
-DrewZilla

sweet that's what I wanted in the long run. I just want for the time being to bore out my stock baffles and enrich the fuel mixture. really want the fp3 when it eventually comes out.
Which fuel management system do you recommend for a 1996 Electra Glide Classic EFI
The only option is the Cobra Tuner. -DrewZilla
*bit.ly/CobraTuner
What do you recommend for 1996 FLHRI ? Fitment for this bike seems to be a tough issue.
-DrewZilla
Sorry I'm a complete noob here... what do you mean stage 1?
hi, how about warranty from hd store? is it void my engine warranty? Im install it to my 2016 48? (remapping and alter the ecm thingy) 😅
It depends on the regulations and warranty rules for your country. If you reinstall your stock engine map and remove one of these fuel management devices, then your engine will have the stock setting again. -DrewZilla

Hi, can these systems be used in conjunction with X14iED? (2007 xl883)
We have not tested these in conjunction with the X14iED. We do not recommend combining these systems, though, because the fuel management systems in this video can provide finer tuning and should make the X14iED unnecessary. -DrewZilla
If I wanted to change heads and Cams compression. What tuner would be best?
With that much work, you'll probably want to have your bike dyno-tuned, so your local dyno-tuner will probably recommend the tuner they're most comfortable working with. That's probably a Power Commander or Power Vision. -DrewZilla
If I'm just doing exhaust and intake will the fuel pak be okay? Got short shots on now but I want to get rid of the stock 883XL intake now and that requires a tune hence why I'm here lol.
Yes, the Fuelpak will be a good option for you. -DrewZilla
Okay sweet thanks!
I have a 2003 883 sportster standard, putting a ness air on and v&h pipes, I've looked on your website but what will fit my bike the best to tune it.
Your bike should be carbureted, so you would just tune the carb. Consider the Dynojet Recalibration Jet Kit. -DrewZilla

HELP.......I just bought a used 2013 ultra glide CVO screaming eagle 110 the previous owner changed out the stalk mufflers aftermarket neboror hater mufflers, and he had the catalytic converter removed (we live in Montana so no emissions laws apply) but he was told that the bike already was set up because of the stalk screaming eagle is mapped at the dealer??? So he has no fuel management system on it...But I've noticed riding riding it that it pops and wants to die sometimes when starting off.... what is the best management system for my bike...I'm not a computer guy but I do have a smart phone and kinda maybe feel like that Vance and Hines might be easy enough???? Or would you recommend a different one!!
I'd recommend the Vance & Hines FP3 for your bike. You connect to it with your smartphone, and using the downloaded app, you can easily make adjustments. -DrewZilla

can the fuel pack3 be utilized with cams other than stock and does it need to be dynod?
Yes, the FP3 can be used with cam upgrades. Also, the beauty of the FP3 is that it eliminates the need for a dyno. -DrewZilla

+Jonathan Garzon thanks for the reply Jonathan, so which one of these would you recommend for a beginner like me? I don't know anything about bikes. This one is my first in fact. I used to be a 4 wheel full timer. But I have an Apple MacBook Pro and an iPhone that I can hook up with the bike! Thanks once again for taking the time!
+DynaMIX the studio if suggest you check to see if the fuelpak 3 is compatible with your bike and go with that one if it is, it's simple to use and if you have end up needing help its more widely used so there's a higher chance you'll find diy help online
Yes. Adding more fuel to the mixture will cool down your motorcycle, plus it will have more power.
What about the RCX-Celerator?
We don't sell that one, so we cannot speak to it. Apologies for any inconvenience. -DrewZilla
Hi Guys,
I just bought a 2017 Lowrider S.
-DrewZilla
Harley can see if you have tuned the bike even if you return the so called stock map.
I really want to do an aftermarket exhaust and a tune, honestly if I would have known this was going to be a problem I wouldn't have bought a new bike.
What about Mastetune THE ??
That's not a product we carry currently. -DrewZilla
If my 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan fi2000 for a Kawasaki Vulcan
How does it work
What about the TTS Mastertune?
TTS is also a decent option, but we don't carry it, so it isn't included. -DrewZilla
Good, I just spent a couple G's on a new ECU and Speedo to replace my TTS with a Target Tune!
TTS is probably the best system for Harley's,they are the ones that make the Screamin Eagle tuner sold by Harley so the have and abundance of knowledge about their ecu's and engines.
Do these products translate to Indian very well?
Somewhat. Currently Vance & Hines, Dynojet, and Cobra make fuel tuners for Indians. -DrewZilla
