FONDATION BEYELER “DANCE WITH DAEMONS” X ART BASEL 2024 (4K)

The Beyeler Foundation, with its museum in Riehen, near Basel, owns and oversees the art collection of Hildy and Ernst Beyeler, which features modern and traditional art.
DANCE WITH DAEMONS is the Foundation’s latest exhibition running from 19 MAY UNTIL 11 AUGUST 2024. For the first time in the Fondation Beyeler’s more than 25-year history, the entire museum and its surrounding park have been transformed into the site of an experimental presentation of contemporary art. The site features contributions by Michael Armitage, Ian Cheng, Marlene Dumas, Peter Fischli, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Wade Guyton, Carsten Höller with Adam Haar, Cildo Meireles, Philippe Parreno and Rirkrit Tiravanija, amongst others. The Summer Show is conceived as a “living organism” that changes and transforms throughout its duration.
Connections and interrelationships between individual works are developed in close dialogue with the artists. This exchange also extends to works from the in-house collection, which are an integral part of the project. While a number of the paintings, sculptures, films, installations, and performances were created site-specifically, others are adapted versions of existing works.
The exhibition is organised by Fondation Beyeler in partnership with LUMA Foundation.
