This is mesmerizing and breathtakingly beautiful, like looking into Calder's soul
How fortunate to have this on youtube. Thank you.
A decidedly avant garde short subject film for 1950. Our dad had a 16mm copy that he showed us one evening after dinner. Needless to say, I was big-time impressed. Thanks for posting.
A MASTER ART MOVIE , THANKS DEEPLY TO HERBERT MATTER, SANDY CALDER, JOHN CAGE, Gorgeous. Splendid, marvelous, a dreams .....wonderful..
I just read about this in the Cage-Boulez correspondence from 1949/50. Wow. The way that the images and the music fit together is amazing. The structures created on the basis of their aesthetic value, asking nothing from the audience and just existing for the observance of their beauty.
What a treasure! Thanks for uploading! Calder and Klee are my favorite two artists ever.

Like acoustic sculptures, the clouds, which pose floating on the ceiling of the main hall of the central university of venezuela.
The Man Himself did the title scene!!!! Awesome...It's the same writing as on my table sculpture..
All of mine have only 2 letters.
@@sharksport01... Yes..!!!
Would it be possible to color correct this film ? The reds were probably a lot more vibrant at one time.
If you like this, you might like Windsong, 1958, short film by Madeline Tourtelot, music by Harry Partch.
