That NGDS hard/softkill pedestal looks inspired. Got to be interesting as a retrofit option for all manner of auxiliaries and similar large 'non-combatants' that the new threat environment places at increased risk.

      Exactly!

Getting some hard-kill at the expense of 50% of your soft kill/decoys magazine depth seems to me to be one reeeaaally hard tradeoff to make, unless you are awfully constrained in terms of deck space and can't afford to cram a dedicated launcher someplace. I assume the decoys are fired "up above" while the Mistrals are aimed strait at the target, so I wonder how both roles conflict with eachother and if they diminish the overall efficiency of the system.

@@CardSharkOfficial Depends on the threat gradient I'd expect. There will be threat systems, and environments, where softkill is more appropriate and others where you want the missiles. As I understand it the mount is modular and can fit either missiles or decoy tubes in the most appropriate configuration. For me this has a role, for a combatant, augmenting fixed decoy launchers around the ship and adding the inner-layer missile sited for best arcs....or as a bolt on for ships with little/no direct self-defence capability in which case its a 100% enhancement!.

Xavier, please also cover about new aircraft carrier design for france navy in euronaval 2024. We noticed the catapult design has changed from the initial design. I wonder why they changed it? Thank you, and have a nice day!

Superbe. Question idiote, mais pourquoi les bâtiments ne sont pas équipés avec une protection active comme le diamant ?

You should comment under Dassault Aviation. But the French will not give top tech to Bangladesh as long as the situation there remains fragile and unstable.
