    All the gardens were wonderful, but the last shot of the last worksite was a particularly beautiful ending to this video. The moon wall lantern was really the crowning touch to this artwork. Imagine the peace and beauty this garden would give you everyday if you lived there. Lovely work as always!

    The patience with mind and eye to detail is impressive. I’m wondering; do the Niwashi find the work peaceful and maybe even meditative? I wish I knew how to trim my Japanese maple trees. I’m sure it takes years of doing it to master, but I wish I knew even just a little. Thank you for sharing. As always, lovely gardens, with tradition sewn in with the Niwashi’s hands.

    • @JapaneseGardenTV
      @JapaneseGardenTV  3 года назад +5

      After all, ”Niwashi” tend to the same foliage year after year, so they know how to take care of it by experience.

    Absolutely loved that final garden, those charcoal walls! The graphic design patterns and subtle 'radial spoke' textures changing shadows with the daylight sun and from the 'new moon' wall sconce. The piled up lava rocks did create a convincing mountain scene. Imagining an ultrasonic mist maker can create a cloud of fog coming down from the 'mountain.' Can you show us how you made that binchotan wall!

    At 12:23 that looks like "princess pine" that we see on the forest floor here in the northeast of the USA. I have seen it in the northeast corner of the state of Pennsylvania and now also encounter it here in southern New Hampshire. When I was a child we used to make wreathes of it for Christmas decor. The other possibility is that it is a type of ground cedar....

    This was a fantastic video; it gives us a good look at a day in the life of Yamaguchi San! He is so lucky to be working in such amazing locations! The 1st garden, I really like Yamaguchi San's charcoal artwork! In the 2nd garden, I love the stone basin shaped like a cube; did Saida San make that? The 3rd garden I have no words for; maybe gorgeous, incredible and stunning are as close as I can find! The charcoal walls are like nothing I've ever seen before; such a great, dark backdrop for this garden! Please send my compliments to Yamaguchi San! Thank you!

      That material is a natural hemp material, so if it goes into the soil, it will rot and disappear.
      There are also gaps in the fabric, so the roots can easily go through those gaps and out.
      So, it will not affect the growth of the tree at all.
