There is some disagreements on the nomenclature of the complement proteins between different books written in different points in time.

Only a small mistake: C3 convertase components in classic and lectin pathway are: C4b2a
NOT C4b2b
It was named c4b2a until scientists decided to change to c4b2b for “consistency” reasons
C2a is the old name, now they call it C2b (it’s still the same complement protein though).

I don’t think you can learn this skill in a book. What you want belongs to “mundane knowledge” (based on trial and error, personal experience, clinical skills,…etc), and not something that can be taught in a theoretical book, at least in my opinion.
This is analogous to
a young car mechanic asking another mechanic: “what book do you recommend so that I can recognize the best way to diagnose a car issue.” To which the mechanic answers: “only experience can teach you that.”
So the best thing I can say is: “find a good doctor and shadow him…observe carefully…and take meticulous handwritten notes.”
