This is the best breakdown of any film I can ever remember watching. I love your enthusiasm for the franchise and your honest opinion on the 4K transfer, it sounds really great. I’ll have to return to this franchise in time for HK!

The 35th anniversary is the correct timing, teh one that followed was too hot in the primaries. It looks like Fall in California because it was shot in Pasadena, Alhambra, the cemetery at Sierra Madre in California. You can see palm trees on the side streets and a fake tree in front of the Myers house masks a palm tree.

I'm glad you have the same blu ray copy of Halloween I have. It makes your comments much more relevant to my experiences. Great breakdown, by the way!

wow great review Branden I usually hear that older movies in 4k look better some would say that it also makes older movies look too clean but by your review of Halloween it sounds like a must have I love the Original Halloween and I might buy the 4k version since you said it looks much better and I'm looking forward to Halloween kills I'm expecting a high body count in the movie which I have been hearing about I'd like to have the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre on 4k as well I'm sure it would look great done right another classic movie I love that I'd love to see get the 4k treatment

Yeah, the other comment nailed it…as long as they handle it right, movies shot on film were MADE for 4K. And I would love to see TCM hit 4K as well! Thanks for watching, Jeff!

Fantastic comment! Thanks so much for this. I definitely want to see TCM hit 4K soon. I’m sure it will, it’s just a matter of time. Thanks again!

I was very disappointed with this release because the extended cut which was the only reason I bought this edition, does not have the original mono audio like every other disc/ version of the movie in this set has.
that is extremely disappointing not to mention all the extra features that they still haven’t ported over from its original laserdisc release.
With how many times this film has been released it is ridiculous how little is improved in this set when compared to the DVD&LD that had captions/subtitles for ever version of the film while scream on the literal newest format couldn’t do the same for each cut.
The quality is extremely lacking and am sad to see so many not even mention it. While the 4K is nice and looks/sounds great it’s the little details that ruins things not cover art or packaging which seems to be where shout spent the money on this edition which sucks.

Ah, man, I’m sorry this one didn’t have what you wanted. I wasn’t looking for what you were, so I didn’t have any issues with it. I hope at some point you can get your perfect version! I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
