Super proud of this young professional! She did the work, and that is what needs to be communicated! No shortcuts! We are about to migrate to Salesforce and consolidate 6 subsidiaries under a new domain. Put me in touch in case we need a consultant!
I’m the “dad”! I’m so proud of my daughter. She is so smart and personable, she’s got it all. I’d love to tell my story of a black man in the white collar tech world during the 80’s and 90’s
I'm the son who seen and been amazed in my mother's personal journey in the Tech world. Seeing her work her way up and become the Amazing person she has been; has been the source for myself in finding how great I can be myself. She's a self inspiring, beautifully strong women and without her i couldnt be who I'm trying to be today, a strong individual who can do what I put my mind to❤ thank you for paving the way mom.
Congratulations Dad! I also had an amazing Dad and my life's goal was to model my parents and make them proud. I lost them in 2020, but the bond and example is FOREVER 🥰
This was a great video I had to stop and take care of stuff and i wanted to really listen. Theres always some way to get in you have to be driven to make it happen and look at what you wanna do.
Jack of all tradesmaster of none but oftentimes better than master one.. good interview.. i enjoy that fact that she want to excel in tech industry and somewhat not happy in Salesforce. Don't guide other into an unfulfilled path.. #keep going
I actually found your channel by accident, so this is my first time viewing your content. I really enjoyed your interview with Jackie, and it is encouraging to see a woman of color be successful in the tech industry. Back when I started in tech in the 1980s there were very few woman period. And many times I was the only person of color in the department. From some of your comments I see that, unfortunately, the more things change the more they stay the same. I would like to make an off topic comment if that's OK, I think it would be detrimental to your career to bypass working the Help Desk. I worked tier one back in prehistoric times, and benefited greatly from the experience. Doing tier one you learn how to explain technical things to non-technical people, which lead to me becoming a corporate trainer. You also learn how to tell the CEO that erasing the Windows directory on his PC was dumb, and he walks away feeling good. These soft skills come in handy as you move into more advanced roles, especially when you have to deal with upper management to get your budget approved. I will definitely try to tune in to your Podcast, or watch the replay on RUclips. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the kind words! I started off at helpdesk as well I think for alot of people it's a great start however some people get stuck there and so base some their current skill set I look to see how they can use their transferrable skills to get another role.
Good morning this video is priceless to me. You guys are doing such an amazing service. I am 59 years old and I’m studying so forth to get an actual corporate job for the first time in my life. Any advice on what I can do to make this journey easier for me and how much does the company expect me to know if I were to be successful at the interview process?
The best advice I would give you is to research and get specific about the job you want to land. Most companies won't expect you to know every if you're coming in entry level
The breach speach is so real. I work for a company and I am the HubSpot and Google Workspace Admin. The leadership tells me "Not" to secure the system. SMDH 😥
What were your takeaways from today's episode?

From the conversation, it seems like many of the challenges I faced over the years are still problems the new generation faces.
@louismcdougal914 yeah I guess there really isn't anything new under the sun

@@TechTualChatter I am mostly concerned about the company leaking my PII. I see how they handle it and it's not safe.
@wordfarstudio2913 yep. Luckily I've partner with a company that helps with monitoring that. They notified me about the att breach before att did
She mustve not been showing really bad. My mom was like that she was a track star and she didnt know until 7months
@@jaegee3716 I can't remember if her and me discussed this before the episode.
