I got into parkour years ago, and i really like it because of its mindset. It's all about the absolute competition - the goal to always beat yourself. You can be objectively more or less skilled than other people, the only importance is that every time you fall, you manage to get up and be better than your former self. It's a never ending competition, you will never be the best, which is great because the goal in sports (in my experience) is not to be the best, it's to always aim at performing your best. It evolved my view on competition in general, and it makes it much easier to cope with a "loss". A loss only means you got to know what limits you have to break in order to improve. Always winning with no competition means you will hardly ever improve. If you are only in it for the win, you are not in it for the sport.

I think having a guy from the crowd compete every once in awhile could actually be fun
