I'm in a similar position as you, so I'm looking forward to this series! I'm personally looking for an everyday shoe for city living (lots of pavement walking), some running, cycling, at the gym, and traveling. Main aesthetic requirements are that they are unremarkable/low-profile looking, and match well with my admittedly limit wardrobe palette which is mostly monochrome. I'm thinking the Mackalls might be my best bet: they're actually the shoe version of the MACV-2 boot, and my other daily driver is a combat boot, so I think it'll be the most similar in capabilities and durability. But then again, maybe I should go the complete other direction and get the Ballistic Trainers since the boots do the boot thing well enough already, but the trainers would give me more versatility. 😅 Looking forward to seeing your follow-up once you've given these shoes some time, and thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching Scott. I have been the biggest fan of the Rough Runners so far. I've been rotating them in on my runs and daily activities. The Mackall definitely feels a bit tougher and the ballistic trainer is nice for walking around town.
