Beautiful truck! I grew up riding in a 1992 FLD during harvest and all that I plan to hopefully buy the truck off my dad when I’m old enough to get my CDL and do my own stuff with it!
Is good to see your working your way thru this. Great to see the FLD is back. is cool to hear you talk of the days that got you here. Keep up the great job your doing.
You may want to re think swapping tire off the classic, if that fld has set up and gets good fuel economy with the low pro 22.5 and you 24.5 low pros it can change your final drive ratio enough to where you won't see the benefits of using that truck.
Didnt think the fuel use was that bad to switch trucks. Whats good, the FLD 1997, will be exempt from speed limiter and emergency braking systems if theyre mandated. All position steers on the drives, interesting. The inside looks baddass, good thing you replaced some small things before (steer wheel).. Cool how u rode in it with ur dad as a kid, i did the same with my uncle in his classic. New lights cant wait for the FLD to fully come to life! New a/c clutch and possibly dryer not too bad, i bet the motor is good and will be reliable.
I am with you bud, don't want to give it up so I am in the same boat with the same truck type the FLD 120. Hope I can see you out here bud and run with you a minute so keep the right side up as well as your chin as I am and we will make it through these times.
I sat my Mack ch613 down and put my International with the Detroit back on the road for the same reason... Even with both turned up nothing beats that Detroit as far as fuel mileage in my opinion..... ehhh maybe the m-11 Cummins..
Sucks he's giving up on the classic but I wouldn't swapp parts though off the classic and I would just fix wants wrong with the fld and maybe put a driver in it but I've a big fan of your AK and am excited to watch the progress and hope it all works out for you on either truck Freightliner has Allways been my favorite trucks
So, I know a guy who runs Pittsburgh power exhaust, max Milage in the fuel, a ops, and super single x lines and Kenneth Rutherford scan gauge and he gets around 7 in the classic. But he only does 51% throttle percentage and doesn’t go by speed. If that percentage allows for 70 he’ll go 70 but if it’s 55 he goes 55.
@@TruckerAK oh ok, it’s all good man, I guess I assumed. Realized a whole lotta driver just turn it down now a days. Anyways it was really cool actually spotting one of the guys I’ve been watching on RUclips.
@@TruckerAK the only other 2 I actually spotted were Hatermade and Foreversolid. Possibly big rig Becca too lol chances are I’ve driven right along with the rest of em though
Hey ak, your classic is a 2000 with a 99 motor. Are you able to run e-logs on the classic? Mine is a 98 motor/99 year truck and want to lease in to a carrier that requires e-logs. My truck has 6 pin ecm connection below dash
I mean the only way the classic gets 5.2mpg when loaded heavy is when im driving 64-65 mph and everyone and their mom is passing me and when light it gets 6.3mpgs

I remember your Dad running the Ole FLD with Shoreside AKA Spectrum back a few years ago! Super humble guy 🤙🏻

FLD has 22.5 11R basically same size as a lowpro 24.5

How much you trying to get for the classic ? Before you strip everything off it ?

Stick it out man, the freight market will turn around eventually.
Probably gonna get the same fuel mileage as the classic only difference you’ll see is the steering around smaller town
Sharks, air bags and wheel seals. The wheel seals always go back, especially when you have a Park for a long time.

Fuel mileage is not changing At All !!! What you looking to get for the classic ? Or what you looking for the FLD either one , let me know
Yes fuel economy is what makes or breaks, give it a shot brother.
I hope to see you running down the road with it be safe out there
When u evacuate the freon make sure u go ahead replace condenser expansion valve drier and high and low ac lines.
It seems like the longer you let a truck sit,the more work you got to put into…. I’m going through the samethg now
Nice to see the fld again it's been awhile

Let’s gooooo ✊🏽 I’m trying to get back in a owner operator position my self keep strong driva suffering only goes so far
You just need to clean her up, and she will be ready, she needs a really good truck wash!
I saw you running through SC yesterday loaded up with 2 tractors. Turn on that cb man I tried to shout you out lol truck sounded good too
I heard you I was trying to holler back! My cb is messed up I gotta get it retuned

Been waiting on this one I knew it would come. Really wish prices wasn’t so high so you could run both
Your cat walk looks nice
Though about getting the pressure washer sand blaster attachment off Amazon and having at that frame?
I’m super excited for this let’s get it!!!!!!
Hell yeah good news!!!
Swap to a n14 pit super singles on and you’ll get 7 - 8 mpg
Better to spend the money then be stranded on the side of the road
Are you still using diesel laptops
What happened to your semi truck?
Fld life is the man he is a great guy his rig is sick af to
I have 2000 with a N-14 Cummins celect+ 435hp
I like those flds
bad move man
Making a big mistake!!!
Why?
Why did your Dad park it?
Im looking for one
Hey brother would you sell the cat walk ? my name is Jose V
Partsam lights r a joke I bought a bunch of them and only half work 🤦♂️
Stay away from the bling for now. Another year maybe?
You wont get rhe greatest fuel mileage pulling a flatbed with the 70" condo. A flat top sleeper will be better
Team classes semi truck
you can get a company job and make 100k and be home everyday
How much mpg will this get compared to the classic bro. May God Bless in you in Jesus Christ Name Amen.
A lot lol to give you an example the classic gets 4.5mpg with a heavy load and the FLD will probably get like 7mpgs
@@TruckerAKand it’s got the same engine? Or just similar but smaller?
I wonder if he ever thought about changing his driving style and speed to gain some mileage
@@trevorbohl2737 maybe driving style does help mpg

If you need a driver drop me a line homie
U making a big mistake in my opinion don't do it
I still don't understand why you don't know basic mechanical principles for as long you have owned your own truck. Very sad.
😁👍🤘
Always enjoy your videos ut this one, the sound was intermittent. ... one second good, the next, very muffled...
