There's jobs they could be paid good money for that they don't have to literally destroy their bodies. The Dudley boyz, Edge and Christian, The Hardy's, those guys went through hell in those matches and it was all to provide an unreal experience for the audience. If you look at Jeff and Matt now, you can clearly see it still affects them. I don't think you could pay a person enough to do what they did if they weren't entertainers at heart.

I don’t know how long they dated, but I just know that he tried to date the tattoo artist that did his chest piece and she said she didn’t date clients😂. Then we would see those two together, and after they broke up my artist said they went out a couple times. And then he got married to AJ. She told me that he said he wanted to quit after the Taker match because he was tired and injured and they were making him work. She wasn’t a mark like me, but she said once they went out and SHE was the one telling people to leave them alone. He was taking pictures with people and stuff. I feel I understood him. The few interactions I had with him he never mentioned wrestling nor asked for an autograph. And a little bit after maybe 2016 I went to an ROH show. The first wrestler I met was Dalton Castle. He’s hilarious. First and only wrestler I have an autograph from was Jay Lethal who supposedly used to date AJ. Colt was there and I almost mentioned Punk and the podcast but I didn’t. All cool guys.

I love Edge, I always have. And I know he's the best superstar out of the 2. So I completely understand that he won the storyline fued that came out of this. Especially considering the fact that not only was he already being pushed to win the title, but the legit heat he got from this made him one of the biggest heels ever. Having said that, I have never liked that Matt essentially never got pushed again after this. He was, for lack of a better term, punished for being in this situation and not being the better performer. Which isn't right, no matter what financial situation there may be......
They did give matt a chance with this fued with a promo and it was horrendous, so the week after edge mentioned how bad it was and ate him alive verbally and that he doesn't measure up to him in any way. Vince being in charge the whole time after this when matt dipped in and out again? Well he was always viewed the same way.
The feud could have been legendary, but WWE didn't see Matt Hardy as a real talent. So they used the feud to feed Edge storylines, while burying Matt all along the way. At the end, Edge looked better than ever and Matt was a loser who lost his girl and his reputation. Sad day for fans of the Hardy Boys.
Growing up as a kid and watching this unfold was just insane. Seeing the personal problems become the main storyline nothing but pure chaos. It was kinda like HHH vs HBK but from a betrayal standpoint but still the same. Best friends turned bitter enemies. Matt Hardy just coming out of nowhere like a phantom and attacking Edge was funny asf 🤣. I’m still upset about the SummerSlam botch of a match. But hey, 💩 happens 🤷🏾♂️, their careers elevated because of it. Like Edge said, if you hate me and want to kill me at least make money doing it.
At the time when all of this went down, i was shocked that Matt came back after he was let go. My friend at the time had a bunch of wrestling dvds and a handful of them had behind the scenes stuff with the Hardyz and Edge & Christian. And there was a clip of Matt and Edge messing around with the different filters the camera they were using. Just acting like a bunch of goofballs lol. So when the scandal broke out, i was floored. And I, like with most fans back then, were rooting for Matt. It would've been great to see Matt coming on top at the end. But lets face it, Edge wad the man back then. He was the definition of electric. It was sad to see Matt leave Raw. He did okay in SmackDown, but didn't he end up leaving/getting fired shortly after the feud ended? Anyway, through the grapevines of the internet, it sounds like all three parties have moved passed this road bump. Edge is doing great in AEW, Matt is doing something in TNA and Lita...I think is doing okay? I know Matt has a wife and family (have you seen their house!? Its crazy cool). I dunno if Lita is with someone or is just doing her own thing. All in all, I'm glad they've put the dirty past behind them.
I mean when you think about you really can't put the personal stuff to the side if the company is putting it in a storyline and you gotta face the personal stuff head on the show and on camera for everybody to see just saying.

It's pretty unbelievable you think about it, because in wrestling matches you depend a lot on your opponent to not get injured.

I used to see Punk when he was dating Lita. Not dogging her but she looked average. Always in big clothes and hoodies. She fit in with the area he lives in. I don’t know how long they dated, but I just know that he tried to date the tattoo artist that did his chest piece and she said she didn’t date clients😂. Then we would see those two together, and after they broke up my artist said they went out a couple times. And then he got married to AJ. She told me that he said he wanted to quit after the Taker match because he was tired and injured and they were making him work. She wasn’t a mark like me, but she said once they went out and SHE was the one telling people to leave them alone. He was taking pictures with people and stuff. I feel I understood him. The few interactions I had with him he never mentioned wrestling nor asked for an autograph.
And a little bit after maybe 2016 I went to an ROH show. The first wrestler I met was Dalton Castle. He’s hilarious. First and only wrestler I have an autograph from was Jay Lethal who supposedly used to date AJ. Colt was there and I almost mentioned Punk and the podcast but I didn’t. All cool guys.
That steel cage match at unforgiven 2005 was insanity with Matt Hardy finishing off with the leg drop from the top on Edge

They had no choice but to work, edge was their guy. If Matt wanted to get rehired and keep his job he needed to keep his mouth shut and do business.
I love Edge, I always have. And I know he's the best superstar out of the 2. So I completely understand that he won the storyline fued that came out of this. Especially considering the fact that not only was he already being pushed to win the title, but the legit heat he got from this made him one of the biggest heels ever.
Having said that, I have never liked that Matt essentially never got pushed again after this. He was, for lack of a better term, punished for being in this situation and not being the better performer. Which isn't right, no matter what financial situation there may be......
They did give matt a chance with this fued with a promo and it was horrendous, so the week after edge mentioned how bad it was and ate him alive verbally and that he doesn't measure up to him in any way. Vince being in charge the whole time after this when matt dipped in and out again? Well he was always viewed the same way.

The feud could have been legendary, but WWE didn't see Matt Hardy as a real talent. So they used the feud to feed Edge storylines, while burying Matt all along the way. At the end, Edge looked better than ever and Matt was a loser who lost his girl and his reputation. Sad day for fans of the Hardy Boys.
Growing up as a kid and watching this unfold was just insane. Seeing the personal problems become the main storyline nothing but pure chaos. It was kinda like HHH vs HBK but from a betrayal standpoint but still the same. Best friends turned bitter enemies. Matt Hardy just coming out of nowhere like a phantom and attacking Edge was funny asf 🤣. I’m still upset about the SummerSlam botch of a match. But hey, 💩 happens 🤷🏾♂️, their careers elevated because of it. Like Edge said, if you hate me and want to kill me at least make money doing it.
At the time when all of this went down, i was shocked that Matt came back after he was let go. My friend at the time had a bunch of wrestling dvds and a handful of them had behind the scenes stuff with the Hardyz and Edge & Christian. And there was a clip of Matt and Edge messing around with the different filters the camera they were using. Just acting like a bunch of goofballs lol.
So when the scandal broke out, i was floored. And I, like with most fans back then, were rooting for Matt. It would've been great to see Matt coming on top at the end. But lets face it, Edge wad the man back then. He was the definition of electric. It was sad to see Matt leave Raw. He did okay in SmackDown, but didn't he end up leaving/getting fired shortly after the feud ended?
Anyway, through the grapevines of the internet, it sounds like all three parties have moved passed this road bump. Edge is doing great in AEW, Matt is doing something in TNA and Lita...I think is doing okay? I know Matt has a wife and family (have you seen their house!? Its crazy cool). I dunno if Lita is with someone or is just doing her own thing. All in all, I'm glad they've put the dirty past behind them.
