What I've read (no personal knowledge) is you won't get a confirmation hearing for a federal judge unless you are a member of The Federalist Society. My problem is, our society needs to move forward from the positions held by politicians in colonial America around 1800. Especially in the area of reproductive rights. The Founding Fathers had no concept of what goes on in a modern hospital, not even the faintest, and their solution was, "Any rights not discussed are reserved to the People." So, if abortion isn't specifically mentioned, then mothers should fight to keep their total access to hospitals for safe medical procedures. And The Federalist Society should support them. Turning the decision over to state governments has been a disaster.
