I've been flipping and nudging dynamic foundations for a week (once I learned we can build upside down) and it's hands down the most useful thing in LF.
Thanks bud. You've given me back some excitement in the game. Also, expanding from this, I learned I could put beds on the wall and still rest on them. Quite funny looking :P

Thanks, I hope they do, it is promising that they recently added curved and angular pieces. Maybe they will all easier directional builds in the future.
Holy shit. I’m just now getting into Lego fortnite and having so much fun with the building. But you sir are insane. I’m excited to take my builds to the next level and watch the rest of your vids
Outside walls not lining up when doing this trick isn't anything to worry about. Real Lego builds have that same problem, even when the special "hinge" pieces are used for walls, even in official sets.
I’m so glad I discovered this before building my boardwalk/beach neighborhood villages. It was gonna be one long boulevard like street long enough to run through atleast 3 different villages. I didn’t want it to just be 90 degree angles everywhere. So this will allow me to build diagonally and make even better looking neighborhoods and streets
And add our own roads now that we have vehicles, none of the roads in my seed go anywhere I want, probably my fault for not taking vehicles into consideration when I built my villages
Genius move ! Of course you got my sub, my like, i will try to share your vid to the craftopians Man the trick !!! Thank you Keep it up Thanks for the work ! I hope someday soon they add the 45 degree angle
Thanks, if you see me online you can always invite me to join. Also check out discord for ‘LEGO Craftopia’ it is a great community with lots of talented builders you may be able to play with.
This is ABSOLUTELY amazing as I've tried to duplicate one of the Elden Ring castles in Lego Fortnite but I didn't know how to build some of the walls at 45 degree angles (for example the towers are octagons so you need 4 of the 8 sides to be 45 deg)
@@GrindGeek so I already finished my first version of Fort Haight (just before I hit the build limit, lol). Idk if you play Elden Ring but this fort has 3 towers that are octagons and 1 tower that's a hexagon. I'm gonna do some tests using your method to see if I can make some better towers. I JUST uploaded my Fort Haight tour if you want to check it out!
Hey, if you check out my video on building between elevations I use a monorail as the example and show how I build my simple car near the end. Check that out and see if it’s what you are looking for. 👍
I had this idea back in December, but your technique is better and I didn't make a video. Thanks for doing the work. I was just using flooring on a dynamic foundation and a post to rotate around
very nice video you can build at other angles too that aren't flat to the ground, even upside down you can see how I did it in my video if you'd like to make another one showing that off too.
Next you should demonstrate how to build In high complexity areas using car jacks or pillars to build a floor with decor then breaking the pillar/jack and pushing the floor into the high complexity zone (vehicles also work)
Thanks, I have a video about building on angles between elevations and in that I make the monorail. Check that out and let me know if you want to know more. 👍
I just built a pre fab on an angle tonight! They snap to foundations, so Instead of using a pillar I made one out of foundations. It’s not as smooth but works.
Hey again, I just tried but I can’t it to work. If I follow what you are saying I did my same process but instead of using a pillar as the new direction anchor I use a foundation? I did but I am still not able to snap to it. Do you have Discord, maybe you could send me some pictures. You can find me @grindgeek there as well.
Yeah, it still works. It would be nice if they added some directional features to make it easier for people. I don’t think it’s going away, people love it and it doesn’t bog the game down anymore than normal building. Plus it would go against everything LEGO stands for, being creative and using the bricks to build anything and any way you want. 😀
Can npc villagers walk into angled builds tho? I made a production factory for my villagers but I haven’t seen any of them go into it or use the stations in there
Has the new update patched this? cuz I keep getting "OBJECTS NEED TO BE ALIGNED" as an error and it doesn't allow any further building off of the newly aligned pieces.
No, it still works but LF has added that error when pieces in different directions are too close, they need to be about ½ stud away from each other. If you set a new direction and only build off that direction you will be fine.
Idk why epic didn't give us free build. This is a good way of doing things don't get me wrong. I just tghink you shouldn't have to do all this just to build any way you want
Any advice on making it so non cardinal axis objects can line up with other objects on the same planes except upside-down? For example, 45°objects, one upright and the other inverted, such as palatial pillar 01? I can do it when they are cardinal direction aligned, to an accuracy of over 15 heights before slightly non parallel flaws cause issues. But with 45° I can hardly have it lined up enough for 2 heights.
Hey, it can be tricky to get multiple objects precisely aligned on the same local axis. What I usually do is set the first piece on the angle and then build a flat base from that object that you can work on with a couple perpendicular walls to make a corner. Then get your second dynamic object in the orientation you want and push it into the corner. Try snapping off that and see how it goes, I have had to wiggle and adjust a few times to get them perfect. Sometimes the second dynamic block will not sit squarely on the foundation so it may take a few tries. If you are still having issues let me just know and maybe I can drop in to your world and we can see if we can work it out. 👍
Could u do a tutorial on the beach boardwalks going out diagonally please? I got how to start it at an angle from the shore but idk how u got them to come out of the straight boardwalk over the water like that😭
Hey, I can add it to my list of ideas for videos but after I got the angle I just had to make them slightly lower than the main boardwalk so they go underneath using long pillars to secure them to the ocean floor. They are all independent from each other.
This is the smartest Lego Fortnite video I've ever seen.
