Principle of this experiment is based on SN1 : substitution, nucleophilic and unimolecular reaction and for SN2 : substitution, nucleophilic and bimolecular reaction. The important applications of alkyl chlorides in the real world are they are used as solvents for non-polar compounds and the synthesis of a variety of organic compounds. Alkyl halides are also used in cleansing agents and for creating cleaning formulas, and in fire extinguishers. Alkyl halides have wide variety of applications such as they are used as flame retardants, fire extinguishants, refrigerants, propellants, solvents, and pharmaceuticals etc.
