Moonwatcher is already a cat in the books Im pretty sure and he was FROM skyclan and leafstar def remebers him. I think all the clans got stories from him because without him, skyclan might have stayed gone forever.

I can’t see it going well. Based on the Erins’ track record I feel like they’re going to use it to say that Leafstar can’t be a good leader anymore and just replace her anyway.

Unironically though I really do want to see more older adults have the positive spotlight in Warriors and just more stories in general. The only other prominent example I can think of is Eda from Owl House
in Tawnypelt's clan Tigerstar had trouble listening to her, and it is true he can be stubborn. like, maybe he doesn't think what she says about something going is as serious as she says it could be- so he doesn't want to do anything, so Tawnypelt does something herself
i hope its not the tribe, i know it prob will be but i feel like its better to leave the tribe alone. but i'll take visiting another group, as long they don't try changing them into a clan
I mean after 21 years, we probably need "something" about the Tribe. I mean I don't know anything about them besides them trying to fight a mountain lion during The New Prophecy.

Here's what I think:
Ashfur was never the new Tigerstar, his motivations was incredibly different.
Moonpaw is a nightsun kit.
Killing off all old cats are dumb, we need to keep some, we can't just have no elders?
Tawnyleaf is a hilarious and kinda great ship, I totally adore it.
Moonpaw is not stealing off Moonwatcher but instead of Shadowsight.
Leadfstar should go blind, we have barely seen the new team write a disabled character and the ones we have gotten were okay, and I think they should try to make sure that they have gotten better with the years.
Tigerstar has had issues listening to his mom before.
The cover is okay, I am personally really tired of people calling it bad like the artist did try please stop dissing his art :(
Tawnypelt can rest after this arc. I'm so stoked to finally have her up front and center in a mainline book (not including TNP) so I want her to live through the entire arc before dying.
Based on how cats becoming disabled is handled in both the books themselves and the fandom I can’t see Leafstar’s vision issues being a mindfully executed plot point
Since they’re probably setting up for someone to replace Leafstar because “she can’t see” they might as well just kill her off
Agree. I want a big sacrifice if she dies in the arc. Specifically, her dying to save Moonpaw would be great.
@@5rcane She’s been around forever so I’m sure she’s going to die at some point [with an arc name like Changing Skies i can’t see it not happening], I just hope it doesn’t follow a couple of books worth of her Clan constantly undermining and disrespecting her and little being done about it.
Other visually impaired characters [Jayfeather and to some extent Brightheart] in the series are infantilized by the fandom and constantly robbed of their agency by the books so it’ll be interesting watching the fandom react to an elderly blind character and how the books handle it in real time.

So.. Moonpaw is Shadowsight, SkyClan’s territory is first to go because of twolegs again, and the Moonpool is blocked again? Sigh. The only thing I’m excited for is Tawnypelt’s perspective.
Hopefully since we’ve been getting so many ‘do gooders being influenced’ I hope that Moon’paw breaks this cycle. And instead, she’s full on evil. THAT would be really cool.

I'd be disappointed if Moonpaw was Sun's and Night's kit. I thought they were Crowfeather's and Featherpelt's kits, since she is a queen with no kits listed. But you're probably rignt.

I just hope that there’s a rebellion against StarClan or something. I mean, based on the blurb it’s not gonna happen but at the same time it needs to happen. Also 100% agree that a lot of the cats just need to be killed off. I don’t care how, but these cats are super old by now by wild cats standards
I think it would be cool if starclan split; the more conservative side of starclan stays and the less conservative side leaves with the clans

@@3zra._. honestly though it would be interesting if the clans split based on their political views and StarClan split with them, while the Dark Forest stayed more neutral. Could be beneficial for the clans since they need to be stuck together even if their leader has a different political view (and the clan gets stuck with that worldview because the leader chooses the deputy). I mean I highly doubt they would do it but it’s actually a interesting concept

While this arc does sound like it may be a bit of a disappointment, we have to give it to the Erin’s. Eight arcs and so many extra books, finding good plots is getting increasingly harder. Maybe this arc will finally be the last and it’s purpose(s) is to bring back all that nostalgia. This is just a theory and I doubt it’s true but maybe keep it in mind!

I have to admit, this sounds intriguing. Having two of the three protagonists be older cats is a welcome change, and I am a big fan of Leafstar.
There's no mention of which clan Moonpaw belongs to. Are we about to get the first arc without a Thunderclan protagonist?
I will await further news with cautious optimism.
I actually love the idea of older protagonists (I know we got this in a lot of the super editions, but I mean in a main series book), and I also like the idea of taking on the topic of ageing - if that is done well. The way I interpreted vision loss for Leafstar would be progressive visual impairment but not full blindness - let's hope they handle it well whatever it is. Other than that, yeah, the plot sounds like a remix of all previous arcs... but it could still be interesting. Maybe this will be the last day in the limelight for some old protagonists to then die or retire in the end (or maybe, similar to the elders in TNP, staying behind as the Clans move?) - Firestar, Sandstorm, Graystripe and Leafpool all got another big role to play before being killed off.
squirrelflight doesnt need to, she just became leader, which means she has 9 lives
But what if she doesn't? I'm worried that she may have only gotten as many lives as Brambleclaw had left himself when he transferred them to her. That is, if they go by what they did with Pinestar and Sunstar.

@chip_pawzz Good point. I just wish we actually got to see Squirelstar's nine lives ceremony. It would have been interesting to see and still feels weird that they didn't.

I was originally planning on stopping after The Last Hope, but this arc actually makes me want to think about picking it up (and just skip all the other arcs in-between 😛).

I was thinking Goose Feather for hearing a voice but the Wings of Fire Moon Watcher makes more sence. Maybe with them taking parts of the rest of the series maybe there hinting of just ending the generation. Maybe not completely but maybe jumping into the future with a whole new cast so can kinda reboot it.
Honestly, give me an angry, bitter Goosefeather coming in with a steel chair as a villain. He has so much motivation to hate Starclan and want to just set everything ablaze.

I find the numerous mentions of twolegs interesting. It would be very easy for the Erin hunter team to do something they’ve never done before, like establish more communication between the clans and twolegs. There’s a lot of possibilities and I really hope the team finds a unique way to tie in all these plots. Maybe the clans will finally distance themselves from Starclan and become more independent? Maybe they’ll communicate on a greater level with twolegs? With the latter, however unlikely it may be to happen, if they do choose to go down that path and have twolegs featured more it’s important they do it right. One mistake and the whole essence of warriors could be broken. I have a feeling this arc will be important in tying in the various different plots throughout the series, and though showing clear signs of repetition as you’ve stated, there could be a lot done to make this a good arc. I just hope they go about it the right way.
Since the arc is combining lots of points from the previous arcs, I think this might be the end. 😐😢
What really bugs me is the fact that Erin keeps on circling back to the "twolegs destroying clan territory" conflict. Skyclan's exile? Twoleg destruction. The forest clans being forced to move to the lake? Twolegs again. And now it returns for a third time. Sure, its an interesting plot point, but the amount of times that its been used just convices me more than the Erins really aren't that good at writing stories, much less making interesting conflicts, because its always the same flavour of drama with different characters.
How is a cat going blind from old age ableism? An old cat with failing health should step down. She will likely do that, or die anyway.
If it was up to the fandom, cats with crippling physical handicaps would be thrown into battles by their clanmates and have to drag themselves around by their teeth rather than accept the shame of being cared for.
Makes you see who the real ableists are.
@@siobhannoble8545 Oh yeah, I remember seeing prominent people who really think Briarlight should have been out there fighting. These cats are separated from rogues by the care their give to their elders and disabled. Everyone always points at Jayfeather and screams ableism too, but Firestar actually gave him a chance. He just came face to face with the facts that he had a better skillset for being a medicine cat.
