      @leonardodavid2842 3 года назад +166

      However it’s important not to just discount all inaccuracies with the excuse that “it’s just a game”.
      I think it’s absolutely fine when inaccuracies exist because of gameplay first. Since gameplay is more important.
      However inaccuracies, less in Far Cry, more in other games such as AC, are sometimes just the result of lazyness by Ubisoft for ex. Since the point of AC is that ur getting to go back in time, inaccuracies should be eliminated when possible. Since it’s what a good chunk of the fanbase play AC for in the first place.

      @@leonardodavid2842 Well some liberties are always taken when adapting reality into fiction. Having played the game, there is so much more that perfectly fits what they were describing:
    The Izila already having agriculture, wheras the Wenja learn it in the game through Roshani.
    Female hunters, especially the main hunter you learn from being Jayma an old experienced huntress.
    Your village starting out just as a cave and then when more people join and you learn agriculture it becomes a whole villiage.
    Wogah having survived with an amputated arm.
    The worldbuilding in general is really awesome, even if some animals wouln't be living there.
    But when it comes to different tribes, way of live (clothing, food, agriculture, priests and believes, structure building) it is very thoughtful.

      There's also some other things about FC Primal that should be noted:
      1. Neanderthals like the Udam would have no longer existed in the time period Far Cry Primal takes place. At that point, the Neanderthals went extinct about at least 30,000 years ago, meaning that the Udam were anachronisms. The Udam, in truth, would've been far more distant from the Wenja than even the ancient Sumerians were from us.
      2. The Wenja and the Izila are listed as separate subspecies of humans in the Far Cry wiki, which is actually incorrect. In reality, both clans would've been the same race of Cro-Magnon homo sapiens, with the only thing separating them being that the Izila were more technologically advanced.

    • @TemariNaraannaschatz
      @TemariNaraannaschatz 3 года назад +9

      @@thebatmanofneo-gotham5667 Point 1 is compeltly true, but your second point refears to the wiki that uses non game maker sources, so it's hard to say if this is corrector or not.
      The Izila article uses the source of the linguist who made all the languages in Primal but the only canon confirmation on that is that the language used is Pro-Indo based for all tribes if you look at other articles from him. Which honestly is kind of strange considering this would have been quiet early, but I suppose it was used because it is better studied.
      The source who activly links the Izila to the farming tribes of Mesopotamia is not from Ubisoft. It's a published article, that is sadly behind a paywall and links to migration which wouldn't be impossible, but it's not Ubisoft confirmed, this is from a wiki writer.

    The lady said that the hunting party should have been mixed sex. One question: In all the primitive societies that still exist today (Africa, South America, Papua New-Guinea and so forth), is there any form of mixed sex hunting? The reason I ask is I have read a bit over the years about various such cultures (just for fun, no deep studies), and nowhere have I encountered anything like that. And to me, it makes sense. Women are valuable - they make more people. Why would you risk them if you didn't have to? The reason we find ancient skeletons of both males and females that show injuries is probably because the ancient hunter-gatherer life was kinda hard. Just a thought.

    • @GabrielSoares-qp1he
      @GabrielSoares-qp1he 3 года назад +1

      Looking at the hunter-gatherer societies that are left today you would actually find evidence of both, like the Aeta people in the Philipines where women and men hunt, or some tribes in africa where only men hunt. But you also have to bear in mind, that the cultures of the Paleolithic were incredibly diverse, that making statements like "Man the Hunter, Woman the Gatherer" would be incredibly simplistic and reductionist. And women are more valuable from a populational standpoint, but, in the situation of the game, where they "Kill the mammoth or we all die", would you really get rid of roughly 50% of your available manpower and skill?

    • @crossxer6099
      @crossxer6099 3 года назад +6

      @@GabrielSoares-qp1he How ironic that your comment is incredibly simplistic and reductionist. Sure women did hunt when there was no other possible way of avoiding it to survive. But at least somewhat stable tribes would never go on a hunt with a woman, that is so stupid, its absurd to even think of. Not only men are naturally more competitive and physically stronger to take down a prey, but women could not simply "go to hunt" while they are pregnant or have children to take care at home and chores like berries to gather, clothing to craft, food to cook. These "historians" are just another victims of left propaganda.

    Yeah, I like that they mentioned people in the upper Paleolithic living on a strict diet of meat being beyond absurd. They were omnivorous just like us. In fact, most historians would agree that game meat was more of a treat. A steady diet of fruits, berries, fungus and fish is far more realistic, as they were more abundant resources, and didn't share the likelihood of loss of manpower as something like a mammoth hunt. Also, as they mentioned, the preservation of meat, even with their adapted immune systems, would have proven problematic, because rancid meat is rancid meat no matter your immune strength.
