Always love the scenes when Joyce Barry/Pringle stands up to Joan Ferguson. Joyce can be daft most of the time, but she can stand up for herself when pushed too far by Joan.
I couldn't stand Joyce at first, but since the writers gave her character more of a 'boost' with less moaning, more comedy and standing up for herself; I've been really enjoying her scenes.

at 23.00 ... how come ferguson can suspend officers for going behind her back when every story line ferguson has been in for about 500 episodes has involved her going behind the governors back ? its just too big a hole in the plot, not surprised they canned it, the writers are getting really bankrupt for ideas.
well BEA ran the place for some time and did get results, this one is close. but Bea and Rita wow, i can't imagine if they were both here the same time. but RITA WAS tough on Ferguson, actually fought her, grabbed her on the first day. ok I will vote with you, for RITA
Why did Meg say to Joyce “I told Anne I would walk too” Joyce was actually THERE for that conversation 😂she even agreed to do the same😂 Weird writing there
By now Meg and Joyce should know better than to plot or say anything incriminating in the staff room. Joan has snuck up on them/walked in on them countless times over many years. Lots and lots of eavesdropping has gone on there, too.
Good on Joyce and Meg for not going along with Fergo's bs. Of course it was going to cost them and Marty. Fergo really is low: she'd rather have rapist thug Blackmoor Officers with no conscience than decent ones who challenge her questionable humanity. Rat-faced Rodney is laughable; him a Deputy Governor when he's only been an Officer for a few minutes. But mediocrity does rise to the top - and quickly at that. Feel sorry for the women (except for Kath and Spider) and especially poor Lorelei -- but being so close the end... well let's see how things roll. Hope Reyno is back in the chair soon - that much I can say.
I'm sure he didn't say this @ 14:55, but it sounds like Marty says Craven "was a sadistic f*ck". I couldn't agree more. Had to play it several times before I figured out he was saying, "thug" with a "ck" sound at the end. I prefer the latter.
The new restrictions sound like the lockdown we’re having at the moment, might be necessary but a bit harsh Poor Lori, after all she’s been through and she ends up going to a mental hospital. Hope Rita and Brumby do make the escape
Eden Teasdale, I believe the music you refer to (at 34.00) is called incidental music. i.e. no real name, just quick musical snatches of either suspense, love, fear, sorrow, all emotional sounds etc. All shows have them. So it probably doesn't have a name unless they use part of an actual tune/song.
For those who have seen it before, and even those who haven't.. Before the series ends, you have Merle and Kath eating raw potatoes, an escape attempt, Merle and Kath falling out, Rita getting some shocking news, Lurch finding some loving...Joan working in a restaurant..
The Merle with Tommy story seems to be similar to the modern American women's prison drama "Orange is the New Black" (OITNB) Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren's back story of accidentally killing a child she had befriended and wanted to play with. Just saying.

I so agree!! I loved it when a previous episode when Joyce slapped Joan and then ran off. lol rofl
She came into her own after Colleen Powell left. Joy was essentially a comedienne and probably found the more comedic Joyce more comfortable to play.
Joyce was hardcore when she started, she had a poface attitude for her first few episodes... lol
I see Joan really loves turtlenecks as her "big bad prison governor" get up. Lol
As if Reynolds wasn’t badly dressed in her 3 outfits… Ferguson is a total fashion disaster

Joyce could see the craters on Mars through those glasses! They magnify her eyes to about 15x their normal size too!
It’s due to no fault of her own. Poor eyesight. Would you make fun of a person in a wheelchair?

I thought Rodney was going to give Ferguson an 'indecent proposal' at 32:25
I wonder if those turtle neck jumpers Joan now wears have been dusting away in the costume department since Karen Travers was last on set.
Karen was a little more petite than Joan.
Joan had hairier vagina than Karen bigger less petite and Joan labia hangs down,

Absolutely! Some of the best episodes ever!
