the only dance scenes that are fight scenes are babydoll dances - babydoll isnt dancing yet, so i'd assume this was set to be near the start of the film
If you are one of the viewers who wished to see baby Doll's dance, understand that it is like the contents of the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. It is whatever the most captivating dance your mind can imagine.
But it's not for us. It's for the girls to find their literal escape by stealing the things they need to escape, and it's for Babydoll to mentally escape and go somewhere else, finding her freedom.
because it's not for us - it's for her. It's her escape from the world around us, even though blue and the cook and the clients all think it's a show just for them. It's what madame Gorsky is trying to do for the girls - Blue controls her and he sells the girls to the clients and makes them dance to get them in a spending mood and the girls don't even get to choose their clients or turn one away if they don't like them, so Gorsky tries to help them reclaim ownership of their own bodies and sexuality by teaching themselves how to express themselves or find some sort of power through their dance (just like how in the real world Dr Gorsky is trying to help her patients by getting them to act out what happened to but Blue treats it all like a show for him and the other orderlies and uses the girls as a means of 'running the place'). Babydoll's able to take it on fully and be free of her surroundings completely where she dances because it helps her go somewhere else in her mind"
But it's not for us. It's for the girls to find their literal escape by stealing the things they need to escape, and it's for Babydoll to mentally escape and go somewhere else, finding her freedom.
I guess its about the rating. To much sex > only elder people can watch it > loss money on ticket sells for premature kiddies wanting to watch some hot woman shoting on stuff (:
That's actually not the director's cut. He said the distribution rights expire in the next few years, and if he gets them back he'll release his 3hr cut which has a lot more context to help explain the more confusing parts. I like the extended cut but I can see parts where there's been major scenes cut, so it should be interesting.
I get it but my dad doesn't and he was just really confused when we watched it. Than he tried to explain what the movie was about to my mom and I laughed like "No dad. No. That's wayyy off."
But like... didn't you get that from the film anyway? Did you NEED that explained? I don't think this scene does anything useful, nor conveys any additional information. I can see why it was dropped.
Seeing this scene, I'm really surprised they cut it. It gives a good illustration the actual happenings of the club and what Babydoll had to do before her plots. It would have given it a nice flow if this was the only non-backstage scene they showed since most of the rest of the movie took place outside of the clubs open hours. It gives us an illustration on what the girls had been put through with having to put themselves out there and make to look risque and why they wanted to escape.
There seem to be a lot of crack pot theories about what this film means, so I'll just add my own to the bunch. In the true reality, (The Asylum) after the lobotomy, Dr. Gorski says that Baby Doll helped another patient escape (Sweet Pea). Clearly then, we can determine that the other girls in the group (Sweet Pea, Blondie, Rocket & Amber) DO exist, and are not figments of Baby Doll's imagination. In my opinion, the reason Baby Doll re-imagines the asylum as a bordello is because it is easier to cope with the idea that it's your body being taken by force, rather than your mind.
We actually see all of them in the scene when she enters the recreation room, the fight between the patients. It's Rocket, Blondie and Amber. Sweet Pea is on stage.
But her body is taken in real life as well - she gets raped repeatedly. It's just a gross, gross movie from a man who understands nothing about sexual trauma, exploiting it for titilation. Disgusting.
@@ninninin656 Oh look, another person who didn't get the movie or any of the symbolism. As somebody who has ACTUALLY survived sexual traumas I found this movie so moving because of the way it represented trauma through an artistic media. +WellDoneTurner Because they don't have any other dance scene in the movie, whenever Babydoll has to dance it goes into a fighting sequence. It just wouldn't fit within the context of the movie, where dance equals fight and the dancing prep stuff is all paralleled to her attempt to escape. I'm happy they posted this, but it'd make the movie make less sense if it was left in.

It’s crazy to me that Snyder isn’t more respected in the industry, by all accounts he treats everyone who works for him with respect, and he genuinely loves making movies. Every actor who works with him says they would sign up for any of his future projects in a heartbeat.
This scene is actually shown in the Extended Cut of the movie. Let me tell you, with Zach Snyder, ALWAYS watch his full cuts. They’re so much better and more enlightening with details that way.
This was one of the most beautifully artistic films EVER created. Pure vision. Pure talent gorgeously and effortlessly created. The director, cast, and wardrobe. Pure genius.
i thought it was pretty clever how they told a story (which is s sensitive subject for some I assume) and just replaced it and put it in a different setting that still conveys what is going on without having to show a dingy asylum or a typical plot but, portrays it how the main character sees it. Its something that was similarly done in the Life of Pi much later on and its something I find very interesting and wish more films would do
I'm glad they took out this scene, as glamorous as it is, it would have changed the film's focal points of illusion of man's power into a comedic factor, rather than to juxtapose a serious symbolic freedom for women. Even thinking they did it on purpose, is filmed just for the deleted scenes.
I think that's the point. This dance is the image they're selling to the public. We see what they're selling and how they're presenting it, but then we see the reality - the beds they sleep in rather than the beds they work in, and the shooting scene in the dressing room. We think the Madam is in on it because she's teaching the girls how to dance but actually she's helping them regain some form of the control over their bodies that Blue and the clients have taken from them by teaching them to express themselves through dance, making it about them rather than about the men visiting the club, her way of protecting them and helping them get through each day.
this scene is highest level of awsomeness. i love dance, dancing, musicals, broadway, cabaret like performances.... this is pure joy for my eyes and ears.
Most people who cry about this movie being 'anti-women' are just mad because all those girls look good in those outfits and can kick ass while they sit around bitching because they are average....all of those actresses did their own scenes. So of course they are going to look good from all the working out/training they had to do.
I love what Jena Malone said about this movie. "No girl fantasizes herself being a kickass warrior in sweat pants" I'm like "That is so true" Hell I thought Sailor Moon was a badass all my life and her fuku is very similar to Baby Doll's. I have to give this a rewatch because I don't think I paid much attention the first time I saw it. I don't remember feeling oppressed by it. I was more like "HELL YEAH" when it came out.
I think this scene is supposed to show what they're selling - meaning the cover of a sexy glamorous club where the girls are in charge of their sexuality and it's always exciting and you'd want to be a part of it. But then we're shown behind the scenes, the beds where the girls actually sleep instead of the rooms they take their clients too. And then the shooting scene in the dressing room to show us that all this dance is an image, it's not the reality of the club. Blue is using and selling their bodies, the madam/dance instructress is trying to help them regain some control in their lives and over their bodies by teaching them to express themselves through dance and to help them get through the nightmare they're all trapped in (herself included) one day at a time (like when she told Babydoll that they "don't keep things that have no purpose" and at first it sounds like a threat but in fact she's warning her because she's trying to protect her like she does all the girls).
I actually just watched this movie online and this scene was shown at the beginning of the movie around the time baby doll arrived at the asylum/brothel. Idk what version I watched but it made sense to me lol
It was cut for time and rating purposes. You probably watched the director's cut version which had a lot more dance scenes. I honestly would've taken more of these over Baby Doll's "dances." It adds a totally different feel to the movie. Makes it very Moulin Rouge-esque.
this is actually a pretty deep movie ... too bad unfortunately, as always, majority of people are unthinking, simple-minded, shallow, dumb, and will probably only see/think of this movie as a mere "chick-action" flicks, or worse, some 'sexy/sexual' visual for their eyes & shallow lust.
Niki Wonoto You're wrong, you should stop seeing people as dumb fucks, a lot of people seen the metaphoric aspect of the movie, as well as the serious issues the movie tries to emphazize on. It doesn' make it a better movie, it's poorly done in my opinion even if it had a lot of good ideas and potential. It ended up being a deception .
Niki Wonoto For me, it was one of the most meaningful movie that I've watched in my entire life. If you guys would just observe carefully with its plot, you could definitely understand the movie how emotional it is. Try rewatching the movie again, it has a great big and deep meaning that suits for teenagers also who are struggling with their life. Just my opinion, sharing. :)
Aww man, this was so good! All the choreography, the styling, the themes,.....it's all art in motion. I would have loved to seen this in the film, although where? I know it was edited for a reason.
Haha, tbh we never found anything 'bout her past not in the book nor in the film. Just the fact she "lost everything". Maybe this was her past (except her dying)..... dum-dum-duuuuuuum!!!!
THIS....... was not used in the movie? What the hell! This is utterly amazing. I can't imagine the time and effort it took to plan, practice, choreograph, perform, and shoot this amazing scene. I suppose it was cut due to time constraints, but it is so good it should have been used. Let's remember, the Lord of the Rings movies were very long so time constraints should not have been a big deal.
This scene was needed for this film. It's showing how everybody see this type of "houses". But with time we see everything in the true form... And of course we needed this scene because Carla and Oscar was learning this dance probably for long time. They deserve a admiration!
I remember watching this in the cinema when it first came out and this was my favourite scene. Why of all the scenes to delete did they delete this one 😟. Love is the drug. ❤
Sucker Punch had amazing special effects and costuming, but the story line didn't make any sense and was confusing to follow. And when you have a bad story line, everything else doesn't matter in the end.
you might think about it like that, but I don't. I like certain movies because of the story and other movies because of the visuals. It's a movie, a combination of storytelling, music, costumes and so on. If only the story matters, why not read a book instead?
I tend to agree. I did actually get the story line in this movie, as convoluted as it may have been. But the special effects were just awesome. And yes, being a guy, I did find a lot of eye candy to enjoy...lol. Overall, I think this movie is a whole lot better than many deem it to be.
The story is easy to follow, a person who experienced a traumatic event is put in a mental hospital and decides to break free but she needs to battle her own demons while she breaks out from the mental institute.
Sadly a lot of people nowadays are unable to understand allegory, and need Basil Exposition to pop up every five minutes. The biggest clue is right at the beginning - as the titles are rolling, you can see the stage footlights briefly. That tells you that the whole part from the very beginning to the super close up of the eye is actually a "play within a play", which in turn is all happening in the mind of an unknown character (presumably a woman who is in a real mental institution, probably suffering due to abuse as a child). All of the girls are aspects of her character, but in order to move on with her treatment (e.g. getting on the bus at the end) every part of her character except one has to die.
They CUT that? That scene took days to choreograph and film and contained half a dozen other scenes. Probably cost half a million dollars! I suspect they planed an "extended version" of the film, like LOTR did, selling it all over again. Good scene too!
This dance scene was beautifully choreographed, yet the tone is somehow too upbeat for a dangerous environment like the brothel! It's probably a good choice, yet you can't deny how beautiful this sequence is!
There where some nice scenes here, but it made it seem like the all of the girls were all having fun working at this place. Also probably spent a million if not more on everything needed to film this scene alone.
Chris Ayers Well, actually I thinks its more "lust" than "love". The guy sings about being addicted to love, but its ironic because he he treats the girls with love for their bodies. Not for who they are. -SPOILERS ALERT- Even at the end of the movie, when he is getting arrested by the cops, he tells the cops that he takes care them, but really he doesn't. He does not "love" them, and that's obvious since he is making money off of there bodies and also not to mention, kills two of his own women(Amber & Blondie) when he feels betrayed by them. If you love someone, you will not try to sell their bodies to anyone. And if you love someone, you will not kill them because they have betrayed/hurt you or were simply just trying to leave you. And if someone tries to leave you, its obvious you're doing something wrong.
I watch this movie when I was maybe 5 or 6 .... Didn't knew the name of the movie or who these were all I knew was that I wanna fight like this girls ... Now I know the movie name and the actresses ... One hell of a movie that I will never forget
In "Sucker Punch," the dance scenes are performed by the main characters in a stylized, surreal environment. They symbolize the characters' attempts to escape their harsh realities and showcase their inner strength and resilience. These moments often blend with the action sequences, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality.
I understand why the director cut this part as it is really a bit more of an upbeat song and would have not of further added dark tones to the movies, but it was a shame that they couldn't do a re shoot with a different song. I feel like this puts the show into better context as those baby doll dance scenarios can be shown as an over dramatization on what her stage act would be, and the fact that it shows the importance of there dances as its the way they can attract there clientele which I don't think was clear enough in the final cut of the movie
Why the hell did they remove this...? Whats next, removing the dance scene from Ex Machina? It's not REALLY important for the story (no, no, no, its not, it's just a really cool scene).
The deleted scenes for this are just epic - I don't care how long the film would have been, they should have kept these
+greekgodlamb I think having him in the spotlight like this would have been good in the movie as it shows how narcissistic he is and how he needs control - my interpretation obviously

Mhm
This should have been kept in
I agree 100%
If they did! it would become a Bollywood supernatural Flick! ;-)
It was in the credits (:
qwaerzd
Beth Sharpe it would’ve make more sense to me
Wow. All of that effort to make that scene and they cut it? Too bad. Glad it was posted, thx.
Very underrated film.
carla as jessica rabbit
I actually just watched this movie online and this scene was shown at the beginning of the movie around the time baby doll arrived at the asylum/brothel. Idk what version I watched but it made sense to me lol
It was cut for time and rating purposes. You probably watched the director's cut version which had a lot more dance scenes. I honestly would've taken more of these over Baby Doll's "dances." It adds a totally different feel to the movie. Makes it very Moulin Rouge-esque.
Sarah M one of the best dance and a really deep movie also
Sarah M But having the dance scenes of babydoll's add's an element to it that show's the fight,
you might have seen the directors cut
One of the most under-rated movies to be watched.
I hate cover versions, but this movie ROCKS!
this is actually a pretty deep movie ... too bad unfortunately, as always, majority of people are unthinking, simple-minded, shallow, dumb, and will probably only see/think of this movie as a mere "chick-action" flicks, or worse, some 'sexy/sexual' visual for their eyes & shallow lust.
The movie was actually pretty stupid...
Rayan Ahmed again, that's because you can't see the hidden, deeper meaning of this movie
Niki Wonoto What is the deeper meaning, oh wise sage?
Niki Wonoto
You're wrong, you should stop seeing people as dumb fucks, a lot of people seen the metaphoric aspect of the movie, as well as the serious issues the movie tries to emphazize on.
It was in the extended cut after babydoll meets blondie sweetpea and amber
Sweet Pea ascending at the end (foreshadowing) ⭐️
What's up with Oscar Issac having a dance number in movies? Its literally almost come to be a tradition.
Well, at least he didn't have one in Star Wars or X-Men Apocalypse.
Imagine Apocalypse singing and dancing...
wait for the behind the scenes
Well he is a singer in his spare time.
+WhatReallyMatters And he does it well.
2:40 Johanna Mason what are you doing there...
umm.... she's in the movie...
Sam Elias
i know...she's in the movie....I. Was. Just. Joking.........................
Well, Snow did want to make her a prostitute.
Haha, tbh we never found anything 'bout her past not in the book nor in the film. Just the fact she "lost everything". Maybe this was her past (except her dying)..... dum-dum-duuuuuuum!!!!
you weird little roleplayers...................................
One of my all-time favorite films. Wish this scene had made the final cut but thanks for posting it so I could seebit here.
Most underrated movie ever.
Now that’s entertainment! Seen a version with this only once, great! Thx for putting it out there
THIS....... was not used in the movie? What the hell! This is utterly amazing. I can't imagine the time and effort it took to plan, practice, choreograph, perform, and shoot this amazing scene. I suppose it was cut due to time constraints, but it is so good it should have been used. Let's remember, the Lord of the Rings movies were very long so time constraints should not have been a big deal.
Poe, whadya doin?
+EuRice Queen same
You mean Apocalypse
Maybe he started fighting the First Order to redeem himself for the horrible things he did in Sucker Punch.
Oscar Isaac is too good to be true.
Oscar Isaac has a really suave and sexy voice lol love him =D ! This scene is amazing.
WOW! This scene should've stayed in the film. Well done, in my humble opinion. I'd pay to see that! : )
I'll never see Poe Dameron the same way again. I'll expect him to do a duet with Kylo in the next Star Wars movie.
You'll be glad to know that Oscar Isaac has a song with Adam Driver in the movie Inside Llewyn Davis called "Please Mr. Kennedy"
I like Blondie's dance scene
They did good work with this scene. Should have left it in there.
2:59 didn't even know I was into this before watching the video.
this was one of my fav movies
I love the start of this song! And I love his voice :))
I would have thought this was a music video for the movie more than just a deleted scene
+MISSlaButterfly YES!
All of the girls are aspects of her character, but in order to move on with her treatment (e.g. getting on the bus at the end) every part of her character except one has to die.
whaaat!? why was this scene cut!? its was so beautiful
I hav been seeing alot of hype abt Sucker Punch lately, or is it just me?
that's how it works with zack snyder's movies
sharpEAGLES I've been obsessed for 2 years now haha
@@matt9579 Zack Snyder is a great director
Sucker Punch is one of my favorite movies of all time... 🤓 I love the whole performance by the way...
my pick for one of the most underrated movies of all time. i still don't get all the dislike it got
A great film all around. Great cast, great special effects. I've seen it several times.
It's very good
They CUT that? That scene took days to choreograph and film and contained half a dozen other scenes. Probably cost half a million dollars! I suspect they planed an "extended version" of the film, like LOTR did, selling it all over again. Good scene too!
Poe Dameron got some major dance moves. Can't wait to see him on Dancing With The Starkiller Base.
This shouldn't have been cut, it shows what all the girls actually did.
Actually girls should not see this
@@CharlotteWellingtor wdym??
A Fucking Master Piece. Yes, with capital letters.
OMG Vanessa Hudgens's dance is amazing
Oscar isaac was PERFECT for this role.
This movie is literally my most favorite movie! It showed Girl power and fighting! Tough women!!
Triste saber que esse filme foi lançado fora de época. Hoje em dia (2020) esse filme teria feito muito mais sucesso!
I have the extended edition, and this is in there
same i watched this movie again last weekend and was like i don't remember this part then realised the version i was watching had the deleted scene
My favorite movie ever!!!! Sucker Punch forever
I looooove the movie but this is iconic, it shouldn't have been cut. SO GOOD
Vanessa looks like Selena Gomez in the thumbnail
CherrieCupcakex omg yeah she does 😂
CherrieCupcakex yeah but better version
Selena wishes she was that awesome 💅😂
I don’t know who she is but when I saw Selena I clicked, turns out it wasn’t her at all. 😂
Really does. I clicked it thinking wait a minute I didn't know Selena Gomez came out in a deleted scene in sucker punch. Lol
Also probably spent a million if not more on everything needed to film this scene alone.
this scene was way better than the whole of the actual movie
The film is about fight reality vs. scaping reality when you are trapped in there, that scene shows that just as much as any fight scene on the movie
Wasn’t really deleted in the truest sense.
Yes, it wasn’t in the main movie, but it was at the beginning of the end credits.
1:22 y 3:55 ohhh Vanessa Hudgens!!! Splendidly beautiful!!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I'm still upset that they didn't include their individual performances on the DVD. What the fuck?
+tnargtnarud what so you can tap to it?
Как? Как❓ КАК⁉️ ОНИ ПОСМЕЛИ ЭТО УДАЛИТЬ ⁉️⁉️⁉️ это же шедевр 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
I loved the movie but the scene wouldn't fit in there anyway.
***** its a little out of place but i think it shows how the guy in the asylum feels, hes addicted to "love". its jsut kinda giving him backround
Chris Ayers Well, actually I thinks its more "lust" than "love". The guy sings about being addicted to love, but its ironic because he he treats the girls with love for their bodies. Not for who they are.
-SPOILERS ALERT-
Even at the end of the movie, when he is getting arrested by the cops, he tells the cops that he takes care them, but really he doesn't.
***** Would be great for a stand-alone music video though.
Talia al Ghul Yeah, indeed.
So much work just to throw out.. Sad.. I liked it!
I watch this movie when I was maybe 5 or 6 .... Didn't knew the name of the movie or who these were all I knew was that I wanna fight like this girls ... Now I know the movie name and the actresses ... One hell of a movie that I will never forget
This scene was always in the version I watched!
i really love the makeup+costumes in this movie!
In "Sucker Punch," the dance scenes are performed by the main characters in a stylized, surreal environment. They symbolize the characters' attempts to escape their harsh realities and showcase their inner strength and resilience. These moments often blend with the action sequences, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality.
Also, Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) is my favorite character. She's so hot.
Exactly what I think!
the greatest video music i ever seen.
Why the hell did they remove this...? Whats next, removing the dance scene from Ex Machina? It's not REALLY important for the story (no, no, no, its not, it's just a really cool scene).
*Ex Machina
Lj Pictures Thank you.
they took it out because they felt it was too upbeat
liked that movie a lot, fantasy, delusion, glamour...a grim fairy tale
