Just to remind you, this Street Debate was recorded before CoronaVirus forced many governments to impose social distancing. Thank you @Muchie for reminding us of this.

Yes, you have to do it yourself, you are like a child if you are dependent. Becoming an adult means talking responsibility for your life, your family, your community, your country. It requires thinking ahead and self-control. Using your head not your emotions. It will take longer but then it's yours and you can be proud. It took the colonizers 6,000 years to get to where they were when they colonized Africa. So it doesn't happen quickly.

I find it hypocritical to blame all of Europe (50+) countries for the actions of 13 or less that actually had colonies and colonial empires.
Not only that, but a lot of cental and eastern countries have suffered themselves tremendously under invading empires.
To have the people getting interviewed throw around generalist terms like "white people" or Europeans tells me that they aren't interested in having an honest and fair discussion, they just want someone to blame for the failure of their government and communities.
One thing I am absolutely sure of, is that a better future for everyone wonbe built on changing perceived double standards with different ones.

Sub saharan Africa lacks visionary and foresighted leaders like the ones you find in Asia, Europe, Americas and other parts of the world. Sub saharan Africa makes 12% of the world population but only just above 2% of world economy, despite all natural resources. It Will be hard for Africans to earn any respect from anyone with such extreme image of poverty.

@qwecy I was talking about the region sub sahara Africa , that there is no need for it to be poor with all those natural resources and fertile land and good climate, east Asia regions or middle East or anywhere on the planet have little to nothing of all that but they outshine Africa development wise.

Honestly, I understand about losing a victim mentality. Doesn't make me like or appreciate or excuse British violating African people and others they've colonized. I think countries like Singapore did the right thing. They were ultra-disciplined and made themselves into economic powers. Africa needs an economic power that is not South Africa. Rwanda is trying to get there but I don't think they're big enough.

I love this reporter's energy, and the fact that she disclosed that she was now with German owned media - I love her format of trying to give people and opportunity to speak, and I love her "Donahue" format of going from person to person. One of the respondents, Tony, the guy with the blond dreds is getting on my nerves - he's clearly delusional - he is so brainwashed, I fear the hair color has penetrated his brains. I think she should and could have developed the Chinese invasion and abuse of Kenya a lot more deeply - but it appeared as though every time it was brought up she pulled the mike away much too soon. I truly hope Kenya is now ready to resolve the Neo-colonial invasion of China and the re-invasion of eruope - it's time to bite the bullet and kick them all out, and go solo - I.e. without depending on the white uberstructure. Stay Blessed & ECLECTICALLY BLACK - Gloria Dulan-Wilson

I don't think colonization is the problem of Africa, the real problem of Africans lie within them, talk about the political system, economic system, people's mindset and way of life. Don't forget other countries were equally colonized and they're doing quite good, take Asia for example, a lot of countries are doimg well within the Asia region and they're colonized countries. It is high time for Africa to stop playing game and face the reality this is the only way the region can survive and build a meaningful development for the future generations.

You're right. Time to move. Asia reverse engineered. Bring in the Chinese. Take a look at all their technology, make your own version, sell it at a lower price. That's how China got where they are. They took American, European, Japanese technology apart and now they make their own version of it. Once we have the technology, then we can make our own better technology. Kenyans, Ghanaians, Nigerians, and other people of Africa are making technology out of nothing. Imagine what they can do with better technology.

The problem started during the slave trade when Africa began to selling their people for good and products. As time went on more African people were being shipped, the weaker Africa became. This allowed other countries to come in and take land position. And whatever goods they traded for, they did not use it to educate or built up theirs countries.

First of all, WESTERN FOREIGN AID to AFRICA 🌍, is just a MYTH... I witnessed this when I was younger, you ask the WESTERNERS a help of building a local Hospital and train the nurses and Cadres to operate it, instead of doing it, they show up with 10 Flat TV'S purchased from abroad, not even locally.
And they tell you to sign for the delivery, later they make a report that a certain Town in any Country received 1 million$ in Aid...😂

This while exsoldiers and the mentality handicapped live, sleep and die on the bitterly cold streets of Canada. Our Canadian politicians and bureaucrats on their way to work, stepped over the homeless. Let that sink in. Why? Enquiring minds need to know.

Collaboration is only mutually beneficial when you collaborate as equals. Elsewise it is just exploitation.
Kenya has only had 57 years of independence. It took the US from 1776 to 1859 to stop deciding political office by way of duel. That's 83 years, in a country where the people decided their own borders.
Kenya's growth is going to take time. It is not going to be instant. This isn't a matter of blame, this is a matter of understanding and context. From where Kenya has started, it's growth is tremendous. Keep going and be proud of your accomplishments.

Foreign aid is a new form of colonization and I blame it on our poor governance .Africa needs a second independence ,from our colonizers and from our AFRICAN leaders .However ,we also need to refrain from the victim mentality . We can not wait for the world to be equal inorder for us to be seen ,to be heard and to apply change on the continent . We are a new breed of Africans , more informed ,more conscious and educated. What is stopping us from implementing change ? It is ourselves who can bring forth change and not our leaders. We need to stop the blaming game. All we know is to blame and to fight behind our phone screens, tweeting ,posting on our instagram and whatsapp stories but no action. All talk ...talk...talk..blaming...blaming ...blaming....Wake up africa !!!!!!!!!! ( Follow me on instagram at kuhle_ngubane)

Enough talk! Time to shift focus. All Africans MUST wake up!! PLO Lumumba said it. In 25 years we will be right back to where we crawled out of. We are so far behind and need to catch up by any means necessary. And by that I mean we must put our differences aside - this tribal bla bla - and focus on moving forward. We can do it! The black race has spent enough time talking about this. It’s time for action. Otherwise our Lord Jesus will come back and find us having these same conversations 🙄

This is not a victim mentality, this is simply stating historical facts! You cannot compromise historical facts for thinking that you might look as a "victim", which itself is not far from the truth. Africa as a whole is indeed a victim in this neocolonial structure, it's just the truth! Is Africa exploiting Europe and its military and its politics? Or is it Europe that is doing that to Africa? There is your answer!
And so we are talking about a centuries old problem, and about ways to solve it, and we cannot address any problem by denying or overlooking where the harm has been, and is still being, done! This has NOTHING to do with having a victim mentality! I hate how some people look so smart in how they dress and talk, but their reasoning is shit!
