Just for your own safety, please remember to strap your ice axe upside down on your backpack (with the shaft upwards). If you slip and fall backwards, you don't want the pick or adze sticking into your skull of it's behind your head (like at 2:00 in). You can also cut a slot in a tennis ball to go over the tip of the spike at the end of the shaft. This is helpful to avoid piercing the rain cover on your backpack. 👍
Cheers Scott, I have been trying to figure out a way to get my ice axe the other way round but my bag just has pockets, so think I am going to invest in a bag that has loops to hold it the right way 😁 Thanks for the tips, Atb, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney I have picked up a niggling back injury James so I will be resting up for a few weeks. A pain but I think it's best. Old age eh! 🙄🙄. Plus I now have at least a 3 hour drive to my nearest new Munro so not ideal in these shorter days.. so rest up, eat food and plan next years walks...cheers. Paul
@@PAADVENTURES1 ah sorry to hear that Paul, hopefully you will get out and about soon 😁 I have the same problem, driving is the hardest part of the day 😂 Atb, James
Nice James, a long drive for the most northerly munro and you just beat the weather too 👌 a week later and the hills are covered In the white stuff but hopefully you stayed safe from the storm . Atb, Steve.
I would love to James but I'm attending a Winter Skills course through Mountaineering Scotland on Sunday, hopefully weather's fair next week🙏. Enjoy your day, look forward to the vid. 😎
Cheers Kev, done it as a day trip 😂 luckily not too bad from Inverness, all the ones I have to do are a couple of hours drive away now.. Thats sometimes the hardest part of the day!
Loving your videos dude! Each one keeps getting better than the last. Keep up the good work, and hopefully I'll bump into you and Lexi on a hill sometime :)
Great content man, I found one of your videos through the recommendations after watching one from Scottish Mountains, and I'm so glad I did. Keep up the good work! Gear question, what are the Revolution Race trousers you're wearing in some of your videos and what's your experience with them? I've been eyeballing hiking trousers from that company for a little while but I have no previous experience so I'd appreciate your insight. Cheers!
Thanks Kevin! My ones are the GP Pro, I really like them, great fitting and the material is pretty hard wearing. I'm on to my second pair now 😀 plenty of pockets too, which suits me as i'm usually carrying a few cameras/tripods 😂 Atb, James
Even in late summer it's baltic up there, lovely hill to climb. I saved a suicidal collie on that rock @ 3.58, I was taking a photo and the dog leapt at me like a long lost friend, I grabbed the doggy with both hands out of instinct like a four legged rugby ball and calmed him down, only then realising that I had my camera on a wrist strap, phew ! I wouldn't have minded had I forgotten the wrist strap, a dogs worth a thousand cameras.
Its a great hill, one that you will remember forever with that experience! Crazy, I’m always scared to take my dog up the Munros as shes not wise with the drops - thats why she has only done 20/134 with me 😂 great company though! Atb, James
Boy the weather was out to get you this time! From what views you did get, it did look amazing. Have you done all of these munroes before or are some of these your first time up them?

@@MrSteveemac ah nice one! Enjoy, you picked a fantastic day for it! I have a Winter skills course booked in Aviemore in a few weeks time 😁
Another excellent production, the time you spend backtracking to the camera to get the shot you want is very thoughtful. Great stuff.
It does add a bit of time to my day but most of the time its worth the effort 😁 Thanks for watching,
Cheers, James
Another good one. Nice new ice axe.
Thanks Annie, my axe hasn’t had much use.. but I have a Winter Skills course soon to test it out properly 😁 atb, James
