    This is the best video so far. Thank you for taking the time to create this video. Could you do a follow up video and talk about your experience with the lenses and the pro grip. Also, could take a granular approach to the lenses and provide info regarding the diameter and if we can swap other filters or if the diameter size is specific to Shiftcam.

    Interesting! I think I especially like that the hand grip is also a back-up battery! I have the 12 Pro Max, so may look into the Macro lens. Thanks for the review

    Great video! I think you sold me on investing with shift cam and not sandmarc!

    Has anybody else noticed that the phone is very rapidly heating up after connecting to the Grip's Bluetooth? I'm using the Galaxy S22+ and charging the phone is set to "off".

    Hi Rad! I'd love to know if you are upgrading to the 14 and plan to use the shiftcam. I have just unboxed my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and only just discovered ShiftCam a few days ago. I also wonder how their new snapgrip will compare. I do a lot of landscape/sunset photography but haven't ever used an accessory to improve my shots. I have a lot to learn but can't wait to play around with different types of lens' . I'll keep a lookout for a Rad Drew update!

      Hi, Dawn, Yes, I’ve ordered but haven’t yet received the 14 Pro Max. Until I receive the new device, I won’t know if the existing pro grip works and haven’t ordered a new one yet. Stay tuned!

    Hi Rad…thanks so much for the review. I am wondering how much weight is added with their case and grip. Looks like a very stable way to hold the phone, but am concerned about losing that light feel of the current Moment case. I have come to detest the lack of durability with the Moment attachment system., so am very tempted by the possibilities of this case and grip. Also, do you know how much magnification there is with the macro lens? I love the idea of one hand free to control leakage in macro shots. Again, I so appreciate your reviews!

      Hi, Susan, Thanks for the kind words about the review!
      The case + the grip weigh 10 oz, according to my little kitchen scale. I know what you mean about that light feel you don't want to loose. It's definitely not as light as just the phone in your hand, but, in this situation, that's sort of the point. The grip gives some stability, and you have a one-handed option that is so ergonomically sound and secure that, to me, it feels like an extension of my hand. I've not used their macro lens yet, but, on their website, the macro is a 10x and looks very similar to the Moment macro, but with the threaded attachment method that I love! See you around! - Rad

    Do you know that the lenses work just as well on Pixel phones as Iphone? I have a Pixel 5 and want to use Shiftcam, but haven't seen any reviews for Pixel phones on this product other than the site saying it works for other phones with the adapters. I was wanting to get the big bundle but don't want to waste money if the shift cam is primarily best only for iphones!

      Hi, Nina, While I have no personal experience with these lenses or ProGrip working with Pixel, if you look at the ShiftCam.com website, you'll see that they do say both the ProGrip and the Lenses are compatible with the Pixel phones.

    Can you tell me how secure the phone is in this? Thank you

      Hi, Richard, I’ve used it with the 11 pro max, 12 pro Max and 13 ProMax phones and it’s quite secure. For smaller phones there is an adapter that allows a secure fit.

    What do you recommend for ND or Polarizing filters?

    • @TotallyRadImages
      @TotallyRadImages  2 года назад +1

      Hi, Juan, I find very little need for ND filters with the iPhone and haven't used them. I rarely use a polarizer either, but I do have one from a company called PolarPro, but you need to use it with their set up. I do use infrared filters for creating infrared images on the iPhone.
      Sources of filters are Spencer's Camera (www.spencerscamera.com), a company called NEWER, and Moment (www.shopmoment.com). Most filters are made for traditional camera lenses, so to use them on the iPhone (or Androids) you either need to manually hold them in front of the camera, or, you need to have a case and a piece that attaches to that case and then allows you to screw the filter into that little piece. For that, MoonDogLabs is a good source (moondoglabs.com). They have a product called a Multi-Camera Filter Mount that can be the connector for filters, but it all depends on the case and system you're using.
      If you purchase from Spencers, use my code, RADDREW25 for a discount on your purchase. Also, for a discount with MoonDogLabs, use my link moondoglabs.com/?ref=RadDrewPhotographyLLC.

    Can you use the Moondog mount for filters?

    • @TotallyRadImages
      @TotallyRadImages  2 года назад

      Hi, Sandy, I wish, but, unfortunately, not. The Moon Dog Multi-Camera filter mount uses the bayonet type of connector to fit the Moment system. The ShiftCam case and lenses use a threaded attachment system.
      But... If you use Apple's silicone case and the 52mm, 720nm infrared filter from Spencers, you can use the ShiftCam ProGrip with the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. You wouldn't use the ShiftCam Case, and you couldn't use the ShiftCam lenses, but, you could use the IR filter on the Apple silicon case and have the stability of the ProGrip for making IR photos.
      I wish there was more compatibility across products from different manufacturers, but there just isn't. It the Wild Wild West of innovation out there!
      I am looking to see if ShiftCam makes a 52mm step-up ring that screws into their case so that we could screw on a 52mm IR filter, but so far I'm not seeing that they have that.

      Do other IR filters work with the Apple case or just Spencer’s, I already own a good IR filter made by Hoya

    • @TotallyRadImages
      @TotallyRadImages  2 года назад

      @@sandykreit1752 I’ve not tried a Hoya, Sandy. I’ve tried others and the only one I’ve found that fits is the one from Spencer’s. There may be others, but I don’t of them. If you have a Hoya, try it and see if it is the right diameter to catch and hold on the rim or lip that surrounds the lenses. That’s the only way to know for sure.
