Thanks Scott. My Hepburn story: in the 80's I wrote her at this house, a fan letter and I asked her if she would send me a signed photo. She sent a beautiful letter stating she didn't sign photos anymore. Ms Hepburn signed it in her scraggilly manor as she had Parkinson's I think. Thanks for the memory Scott.

As a Connecticut native,I have taken many rides to Old Saybrook and enjoyed seeing Kate’s place in Fenwick! I always got a kick out of the sign that used to be posted at the entrance to her property. In typical Katharine Hepburn fashion,it did not say”no trespassing”,but, instead,”Please go away”! Love it! Loved her!❤️

The studio protected their images. Bette Davis was one of the first to sue out of her contract. Hepburn had an affair with Spencer Tracy. He would not divorce his wife but the studio kept it quiet. He had numerous affairs. Their images were protected. They're just like today in scandals.

I love this video!! Katharine Hepburn was such an incredible actress and person. They just don't make them like her anymore. Maybe because it was from my era but On Golden Pond was such a favorite movie of mine. I bought the VHS tape and later the DVD version. It's funny, when I saw her house with that pond, it immediately reminded me of that movie. It's strange how times have changed and how they made such a big deal about her wearing pants instead of dresses. Thank God times have changed for the better. Such a trivial thing to get upset over. So, she was a bit of a trailblazer too going against the grain. She had such a beauty to her until the day she died, and I still miss her on the silver screen. Great video Scott! May Katharine and the rest of her family forever RIP. What an icon! ❤💐

Hey Scott that's Old Saybrook. I lived there in the area in Clinton 30 years. The Shoreline. I went by that house the scenic route is what they call it . I drove there all the time. Their a Katherine Hepburn theater in downtown sold Saybrook. I attended many plays and evens even participated in some there. She was a beautiful nice lady. Was there during the hurricanes even Sandy.
I took many family and friend visitors there as well as NYC the ferries, port Jefferson etc. I miss the place badly, we sold the house and moved in 22. But this is cool what you do. I been right up to the house the family let me come up. I didn't ask to come in. But felt privileged to do what I did. It's a cool a little cool richy but down to earth people. I still got many friends there. Too bad you couldn't get closer. Lots of mm & pop Restaurants and Inns. B& B's. It was really cool. Hope you got to go in The Theater. Some of her stuff on display if I remember right an Academy Award on display there. She did in 2023. I was there! Remember it well. Tag is for all you do. Bet it's be cool to hang out and talk with you. Hartford? Well not all that cool a lot of crime etc etc.... I v ch old take you to some old cool cemeteries up there. Off the beaten path. Graves go way back! 1600's. Captains of ships, to politicians. Most are closed. If you are still there check out Derp River Library!!
Also in Old Lyme home of the Lyme tick disease. Is the grave of the Dark Shadow's star Elisabeth career Joan Bennett is brief in Lyme.
    Pleasant View Cemetery

I have a pretty funny story about how I first saw a Katherine Hepburn movie-we were renting the Dick Tracy detective series and my dad accidentally included one with Spencer Tracy simply because of his name. When we were watching it my mom mistook Katherine Hepburn for Audrey Hepburn and started commenting on how different she looked in this from what she remembered! Needless to say, both my parents aren’t very good with names but I did end up looking both Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn up at the library out of curiosity (years before Google) and discovering their impressive body of work. What Katherine was doing was cultivating mystique, by being both knowable through her works on stage and screen and yet unknowable by not being as accessible as everyone else. This is something the most successful ‘It’ girls of today do so we can’t get enough of them. RIP Katherine. Still doing as she damn well pleased up to the very end.

Katherine was one of the greats from the "golden age" of Hollywood. She only started to sporadically do interviews after the Dick Cavett 2 hr interview, that was done without a studio audience. She went to see what the studio was like and just decided to do the interview then. I love it!
She swam and played tennis every morning, even in winter up until the age of 87. She didn't believe in God and said this about dying "it must be wonderful, like a long sleep".
Thanks sweetie for the wonderful video, only you could get special permission with that wonderful personality of yours! Peace...

You werent alone out there, you has that bug in your eye with you!
Seriously, Katherine Hepburn was an incredibly strong, beautiful, independent, and talented woman. Wish we had more like her today.

Kathrine Hepburn, is one of my favorite actresses. While I loved most of her movies, my favorite was Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Most people don't know, her niece Kathrine Houghton played her daughter Joey. Thank you for this video.

I grew up in a small town…. Something nice about one day leaving the city and going back to a small town to live out your days… She was a great actress and no doubt enjoyed her later years living back home
