    Getting that disassembled was impressive. Too bad the thumb nut broke.

    Always love your videos- awesome work! Question if you dont mind. I found a very old, very brittle cowbell in the ground today. I think its mild steel and it is very rusty. I do not have an electrolysis machine. How do you suggest i restore it?

  • @neonxvices
    @neonxvices 9 месяцев назад

    love your content, question about the process: at 2:10 why do you use that tool to clean off small sections of rust before doing the electrolysis?

    Mis respetos y reconocimiento para usted, señor!!. Tiempo, dinero y mucho esfuerzo fue invertido en esta pieza; dañada en extremo. Obvio el resultado es sumamente reconfortante y bello y, también me queda claro que será meramente decorativa o de exhibición en algún museo... Ya no es operante (al menos no es segura). Ojalá se lograra duplicar en una pieza 100% nueva y comercializarla en escala decente. Yo la verdad, SI compraría una!!. 😊

    Maybe WW1, I’m 90 years old and that configuration was ancient when I was a kid. Crescent Wrench would be WW2.

    AMAZING! When I first saw that I said to myself 'If ReX can get the jaws to open and close I'll take my pants off'. Well, here ya go... I literally took my pants off (and put them back on, naturally.) Possibly your best resto yet. Keep up the good work. Any idea of the maker from that circular mark?

    Does the electrolysis process cause the water to boil?

    • @rcx575
      @rcx575 11 месяцев назад +1

      No. It causes bubbles to form at the surface of the metal. The bubbles then dislodge the rust.

    А чому завжди початкове очищення робите на суху? Чому б не замочити артефакт в гарячій воді з миючим засобом і почистити його з водою?

    I do believe that you should consider other techniques, instead of the electrolysis, wire brushes and cold bluing combination, that you are using every time... A muriatic acid solution for rust removal, followed by abrasive blasting and finally zinc powder coating, would be way more interesting and I believe would produce a very nice result!

    • @georgejones3526
      @georgejones3526 11 месяцев назад

      Well for one thing, for abrasive blasting he’d need a cabinet, air compressor and abrasive media and the space for them. Far easier to use electrolysis and wire brushes.
