This season was about Jentry coming to terms with her identity and carving her own path, but there are a lot of places they could go with the other characters.

@thealmightypharaoh7106 Just today I booted up Disney+ and watched American Dragon for the first time in many years. It almost feels intentional how much Jentry Chau replicated the vibe. Supernatural young hero struggling to balance school life with their magic life, training under an old mentor and non human comic relief, with a love interest that has a dark secret. They even got the whole world of fantasy hidden in plain sight. Jentry Chau not only feels like a send up to this era of show but a logical progression of it. Jentry's powers are genuinely harmful to herself and others, giving her extreme emotional baggage and trauma. It acknowledges an elder making a minor fight their battles is a bit messed up. The comic relief oversteps their bounds by telling people about the hero, causing issues. They took a classic premise and made it engaging again. Season 1 had a great finale but I'd never say no if this show has more to give.
I think that they could have someone steal Kit's corpse to use it for some purpose (ingredients for a spell or ritual or something). Since painted skins are immortal (though not invulnerable), I think it would make sense that Kit's corpse doesn't decompose and is therefore intact. Through some series of events, Jentry uses the resurrection abilities of the Yellow Emperor powers to bring Kit's corpse back to life. We have established that bringing beings back to life is not a good idea, but since Kit does not have a traditional soul, Kit is basically nowhere until his body is brought back to life and maybe that ends up with a better outcome. Of course there will probably need to be a plot thread for a few episodes dealing with some kind of negative consequence to Kit being resurrected from the dead. I'm thinking that in a season 2, instead of dealing with just Chinese mythology, we also start to deal with some figures of concepts from Nigerian mythology (because we never really got the full explanation for Michael's powers).

Exactly, Kit made a good sacrifice, (almost cried to it hehehe), even without a true soul, he showed that even the most lost and hostile people can have souls, amazing writing.@@guncedurucelebioglu6943
Kit lowkey deserved better than his ending. The main girl was like, "Believe in yourself! I wouldn’t care if you didn’t have a soul!" (She definitely ditched him and dumped him without asking anything. And when she got his help, she left him.) I wanted so badly to kill her and her grandma. I know he stalked her, BUT like, he just wanted to be human and have a soul. Truthfully, he deserved a better romantic interest than someone who would leave him without a second thought to be "normal." Honestly, I need a fan fiction where he gets a better romantic interest. For some reason, this main character is so annoying to me. Why was she flirting with Mogie? Wasn’t he dating the other girl? And she’s so badly trying to "not be like the other girls," but at the same time, she is? I don’t get it.
@AryamHani-hn1ts I shipped them until I remembered she was 16 and he's like hundreds of years old. Yup that's just creepy. But yeah he had more chemistry with Jentry in the start than she ever had with Michael through the end
I know I'm late, but I was noticing how at 0:24 it says "You say that I'm the one for you" while showing Michael, but then it says "but deep inside that can't be true" and shows Kit. Also they show Kit in one of Michael's visions OF THE FUTURE. All of this points to one conclusion....season 2, Kit is coming back and stealing Jentry away😌(sorry Michael, but I'm team Kit forever😔✊🏼)
I hope there will be a second season, maybe if the series has a good rating and a lot of likes there's a small chance that Netflix will release a second season I want Kit to come back to life
I don't think Kit deserves Jentry. Sure, he sacrificed himself for her, but that was his ONE selfless act of the entire show, and as Jentry's mom said, "just because she gave her life for you, doesn't mean that you owe her yours." All of what he did was, initially, to attempt to KILL Jentry on Cheng's orders, and yes, he did reconsider, but when she wanted space, telling him no? He stalked her, physically intimidated her, and cornered her ALONE, slamming his extra powerful fist against a locker when she rejected him. And keep in mind, she has NO powers at that point, so it's even scarier for her. Plus, Jentry is way too young for Kit.
@guardianangel1468 OK yeah, I get your point, maybe they made too many mistakes to be healthy together, but, and I know I probably come off as a Kit-crazy fangirl, but I don't really think it is he doesn't deserve Jentry, at the very least, it is a mutual undeserving. Yes, u r right, he did try to kill Jentry in the beginning, but he also lived what, HUNDREDS of years trying to live in peace with humans and EVERYONE turned on him, in those hundreds of years, this was the slip-up that cost him any chance of redemption after centuries of trying to be worth a humans heart? Yes ik, killing a human is more than a slip-up, but who wouldn't be desperate after centuries of rejection? Humans probably tried to kill HIM several times. He reconsidered almost immediately. He wasn't even willing to kiss Jentry without telling her everything, despite the fact that Cheng had threatened him. He tried to tell her and Jentry LIED to him about having a bf just cuz she felt awkward(I know it seems small compared to what he did, but in the span of a relationship it's a pretty big deal if ur prone to lying when u feel awkward and don't communicate very well and don't allow ur partner to speak their piece) he was literally after her the WHOLE time and nearly collapsed at one of the stalls and Jentry barely gave him the time of day. Also, u mentioned his death was the only big sacrifice, but I think jumping into that flaming statue to save Jentry was a sacrifice in itself, considering it melted his painted skin off and risked exposure to other humans, not to mention he didn't want Jentry to find out like that, since he tried to walk away. Despite that leap of faith(he saved her, she was knocked out, it would have been so easy to just take her soul in that moment and claim the fire killed her) she called him a monster, assuming he only told the truth because he got caught, and didn't even give him a chance to explain. Then, knowing how angry she is, he still risks himself to talk to her, and even saves Ed along the way, and again, cutting off his every explanation, even Ed and Gugu's protests, she tries to toss him to the underworld! Then she goes for his help, they have a very romantic episode, during which Kit confesses his feelings and makes it very clear that he still feels that way and Jentry tells him off! She even blushes at him, but when he tries to make it official later, after doing her request and helping her, she just says "yeah no sorry I'm done with the supernatural....and ur supernatural." Not even "we can still be friends" just "I'm done with u" (if I am remembering any of the scenes I am referencing wrong pls tell me haha) Anyway, after that we are entering controversial territory, yes I admit he could have handled that all better, but 1. Jentry moved so fast with Michael, like if she felt that way she should have let Kit down after he confessed. 2. I think the line "so I'm more human than I think, but still not human enough for u" basically encompasses how I feel about that....Jentry was a bit of a hypocrite. The angry scene didn't sit right with me either but...he didn't hurt her or yell at her to release more anger after and I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with that....I'll just include it in his apology death. Plus, with giving the robes to cheng, Cheng promised he could give him a soul, ofc he thought giving a soul back wouldn't be that disastrous, and Jentry gave him hope and then took it away, plus she also thought using the pearls Cheng sent her to find out about her parents would be harmless....and then she set another fire and almost killed Michael.....and then stormed the underworld and almost got everyone in her school killed. What? Does she get special protagonist forgiveness? So yeah this was my Kit redemption paper.....jeez I did not think this would be this long....sorry about that but if u finished it.....uhh...u r a true Jentry Chau vs the underworld fan! Congrats👏 (P.S. about the age thing....people dream about dating centuries old vampires😩 his age is probably proportionate to hers in demon years idk)🫠
@@CannotpickoneT-T ok so i read the whole thing and in my response im mainly gonna focus on how kit's age SHOULD have affected his relationship with jentry and how jentry didn't do anything unforgivable (to hit both sides of the "undeserving" spectrum" yes, he's gone a long time without people accepting him for who he is, it's true. but he's also lived a long time in human society. he should know that 1) it's frowned upon to be involved with someone so much younger, 2) that sometimes people need space, and 3) that lying to people is going to cause them to mistrust you, even if the lie is understandable (which imo it wasn't because he was trying to kill her for his own benefit) for the first point, he's been in human society for a long time, and while yes, he is currently in a 16 year old body, it's clear he's also had interactions with many many people over the years, which should have given him the experience to realize that a 16 year old is TOO YOUNG. for the space thing, it's clear that he's not able to give Jentry even a little bit of space. In my last comment, i pointed out that he physically intimidated and stalked her very shortly after being rejected. this is NOT healthy behavior. what stops him from doing this more when he doesn't get his way again? his conscience? he's obviously fine with scaring the shit out of a powerless Jentry; you saw the look on her face as well as I did. (I was so scared for her in that scene :( now for the lies, which will also include Jentry's perspective: In the beginning, he copies all her interest and stalks her to try and get close, for his own benefit of killing her for his soul. When he reveals himself, she knows that painted demons like himself are emotionless fakes but still ends up trusting him for a while, and later realizes that he must have planted the pearl on her (which really really fucked her up as we saw in the burning restaurant), and honestly planting the pearl her in a normal situation would easily justify never ever wanting to see someone again. She does actually somewhat forgive him, at least not killing him (after he tried to kill her..), but just wanted space, which he did NOT give her (again showing how selfish he is at this stage). She is fine with trusting him until he betrays her and invades her space! She could have let him down better, yes, but as SHE SAID in the show, it doesn't matter WHY the answer is no, it's NO!
@guardianangel1468 Alright I see ur points, ur right there wasn't really a very good way to excuse his behavior towards the end. I would hate if someone acted to me the way he acted to Jentry at the end, and ur right that we did see him in a relationship with another adult in one of his memories, and honestly I was a bit scared for her too in that scene. I guess we'll just agree that Jentry and Kit shouldn't be together, they're just too unhealthy in the end, yes? I'm fine with that🙂I just want him to come back🥲
I hope there will be a second season, maybe if the series has a good rating and a lot of likes there's a small chance that Netflix will release a second season I want Kit to come back to life

ok so i read the whole thing and in my response im mainly gonna focus on how kit's age SHOULD have affected his relationship with jentry and how jentry didn't do anything unforgivable (to hit both sides of the "undeserving" spectrum"
yes, he's gone a long time without people accepting him for who he is, it's true. but he's also lived a long time in human society. he should know that 1) it's frowned upon to be involved with someone so much younger, 2) that sometimes people need space, and 3) that lying to people is going to cause them to mistrust you, even if the lie is understandable (which imo it wasn't because he was trying to kill her for his own benefit)
for the first point, he's been in human society for a long time, and while yes, he is currently in a 16 year old body, it's clear he's also had interactions with many many people over the years, which should have given him the experience to realize that a 16 year old is TOO YOUNG.
for the space thing, it's clear that he's not able to give Jentry even a little bit of space. (I was so scared for her in that scene :(
now for the lies, which will also include Jentry's perspective: In the beginning, he copies all her interest and stalks her to try and get close, for his own benefit of killing her for his soul.
I'm fine with that🙂I just want him to come back🥲
Ive rewatched this show 6 times already
The moment I first watched the series, I immediately fell in love with it. It got me sitting on the edge of my seat.
I’m ready for season 2 🔥
Same
Don't get your hopes up
@BKation_13 that’s to bad
Kit ❤
I hope there will be a second season, maybe if the series has a good rating and a lot of likes there's a small chance that Netflix will release a second season I want Kit to come back to life
the show had a really good art style and was unique. blended really well manga, comics , and anime into it's own thing. The lighting in the show was really good and I liked how it took place in TX 🤠
Just started watching this show with my 11 + 12 year old sons today. We're on ep 4 and love it so far!!
I love everything about the into. The song especially. I loved this show so much I watched it in a day and now I’m sad that it has only one season. But then again it having one season means that it’s not stretched out too much making it boring.
This show looks so fun omg!
Omg literally the best intro ever I am totally obsessed over the show aswell
Hell yea!! KATSEYE!!
This show is majorly slept on tbh
Gen Z Juniper Lee-
(someone had to make the connection, though I'm pretty sure the two will be very different from each other)
"Super Gen Z" is exactly my thought) It's a very good series (just in general how it is made) , but I'm waaay out of its CA...
@burunuk666 I mean hey, just because you are doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed! I'm pretty sure I'm the same way but I'll still give it a look-
Indeed) That's why only 2 episodes left for me)
Eu também senti uma vibe de Juniper Lee da nueva generación.
I also got a Juniper Lee vibe from the nueva generación.
Yessss, it reminds so much of juniper lee
The fact that the song is by KatsEye
I was already thinking about watching this show, and this intro just sold me on it.
I legit thought Gugu would come back to life solely because of that one clip in the intro where she is training Jentry and Jentry’s roots are showing. :/ They tricked me.
Hope this show does well, looks like a ton of effort went into it 🙏
IM OBSESSED WITH THIS INTRO AND SHOW AHHH
Great show. My only complaint was how Kit was treated but for the most part everyone was written super well and it was nice hearing Ali Wong be the lead of yet another amazing series
Never heard of this, no idea what it's about, but this intro has me wanting to give it a shot.
Best intro in Netflix
0:24 this part is the best omg
We gotta have a season 2 man
For people asking the song is "Flame" by KATSEYE ;)
At first I thought this would be not a kids show but honestly bro reminds me of the old show kipo 10/10
Disappointed that they locked Kipo so lower-paying tiers can’t watch it. I liked that show too.
@@ivoryphoenix7 feel y’a man
AYOO THIS IS EXACTLY THE SHOW I WAS COMPARING THIS TOO WHEN I WAS TALKING ABOUT IT!!
This song is called Flame by KATSEYE and it is so good! I didn’t know that they will be using this for the opening all throughout the series I thought it is only for the trailer. This is such a pleasant surprise 😍
Cette intro est incroyable on recent une véritable énergie en l'écoutant
oh man i really hope kit is just maybe still roaming around duyin bc why did he have wings in the intro, and michael too, what was his storyline??? clearly his parents know something, here's to hoping there is a 2nd second season!!!
just watched it and i loved it! STAN KATSEYE
I miss the times where the intros has lyrics and much longer instead of now is short and has no lyrics 😔
Bro this intro is fire
I LOVEEE THE INTRO SO MUCHH😫
Me too.
ITS PEAK
The animation is giving Rotmnt vibes and that's a good thing
Oh Flying Bark (animators behind RoTMNT) is amazing. I especially love their work on Monkie Kid.
Sometimes I come back and rewatch this intro just to feel smth
0:27 maybe we can all just pretend that Kit got his soul and is now living his best life in our universe as a Rockstar thru his voice actor so we can sleep in peace despite there bring a S2 or not 😭
Here's his voice actor, Woosung, btw. Looks kinda like him in these vids:

This intro is so aggressively Chinese American and Pop, I love it for it.😂

Bless you for doing this!
They did my guy kit dirty 😭😭
Şimdiya kadar duyduğum en iyi şarkı bu
This is the greatest song of all time
