Lightfire LP that means a huge amount mate Thankyou so much. I’m hoping to make some more videos soon just the weather has been so bad I’ve only had the board out twice in the last 3/4 months. Glad the video helped and you enjoyed it :)
Hey I'm a total newbie to skateboards, I do go Snowboarding if it makes a difference, I'm thinking getting one of these looks fun, question what board would you recommend? And how long do you think, would it take for a newbie to ride it effortlessly?
Bruce Doyle hey buddy, well the snowboarding is definitely going to work in your advantage and I expect you will pick it up quick! As you will obviously have good balance from the snowboarding. I would say after a couple of weeks of practice you will feel quite comfortable on the board and as time goes on you get more and more relaxed on it. Obviously have to be careful at all times. I recommend either of these boards mate depending on what your budget is, the NLS PRO is a smoother experience in every way, but lacks the handle and a few features of the v3 that come with the v3’s new ESC like push to start which I forgot to mention on the video. The brakes are also more punchy on the v3. If you want an aggressive, responsive riding experience with slightly better acceleration and uphill capabilities the v3 is the one. Whereas the NLS PRO has a higher top end and feels more premium, and am not going to lie is a little easier to get used to with it’s smoother braking and accelerating. Hope that helps, and Let me know what you decide on if you do go for the purchase!
@@ESKATEUK Thanks man! Very much appreciated! I'm leaning towards the Nsl Pro, I just have few questions left, How waterproof is that Board? Like can I use it while it rains and do I have to avoid small puddles? Or do i break the board if accidentally drive over a small puddle or drive through a rainy day? And also what exactly comes with the Nsl Pro if i order one?(extra battery's, remotes, wheels etc).
No problem dude, the board isn’t water proof, I certainly wouldn’t take it out in rain or if it has just rained where there will be puddles everywhere, I don’t see how small puddles would do harm but still can’t recommend it, as you don’t want to break the board. The NLS pro comes with a board stand, a special meepo hard case to put everything in, charging cables for board and remote, different bushings for board set up and then stickers and a manual. I may have missed some things as I didn’t open it up myself, my dad did. Hope that helps though mate :)
Thanks for a video dude. I'll prob get V3 ER because it's the most popular model and they mastered it so good for years. Also the main reason why I don't want to buy NLS PRO because they don't have a handle...I had Ownboard before with that handle and after I used Boosted, it was so uncomfortable to carry the heavy board. Also you sold V3 when you said it rides more aggressively. Will make my purchase this week. Thanks again!
Hello man, It’s great to see my video is still helping many people world wide! You have made a great choice my friend and won’t regret your decision. It’s a fantastic board and it is still serving me well to this day with no faults at all. The v3 is definitely more aggressive, however they may have revised it a little bit as I know they have made some minor changes to the boards. Enjoy your new board, be patient for it’s delivery, it’s not very fast but it is worth the wait. All the best!
Hi mate, with the ER battery the v3 and NLS PRO have the same range. The v3 with standard battery I can’t recommend as you will get way less miles, and the power will drop much quicker
Hey Dylan! Thanks for making this video! I’m on a fence between these two boards atm. Have years of windsurfing experience and some longboard riding (with windsurfing sail mounted on it 😁) Think NLS sounds like a smooth ride and what I prefer really, but what do you think about city riding and particularly with bike traffic? We have dedicated bicycle lines here, separated from roads. Would NLS keep up on in that situation? Most roads are either ok or great, rarely any big issues. Oh and what about water resistance, any comments regarding that? Thanks in advance and good summer. Wish I could ride with my dad too.. take care!
Thankyou for the comment my dude, the conditions you describe sound perfect for the board and it will do over 30mph so definitely adequate enough for the bike lane! It’s a very smooth experience on the NLS PRO, so comfort will be good. These boards are used a lot in the city in Japan and America, however in the U.K. they’re only just coming around. Hope that helps, take care 😎
@@ESKATEUK Thanks buddy! I think i saw all reviews by now and seems like brakes are much better on V3, so I'm under impression that its the way to go. What do you think about that? i think one can only go as fast as good he's brakes are..
I’m glad you enjoyed my friend! And I forgot to mention that the V3 has roll to start! And as long as you get the V3 with the ER battery (which is absolutely essential) then their range is exactly the same. I’m so impressed with the range, I’ve been on and off it for a day and still been above 80%. Absolutely fantastic. I’m not sure what he adjustable braking is? I know the brakes definitely feel a little different between the two, I leave my brake mode in pro on my v3 and it’s astonishing how responsive and powerful they are.
That’s great to hear I hope it helped! Take into account that the NLS PRO now ships with the same ESC as the V3 so that part of the video no longer applies :)
The price difference between the v3 er and nls pro is only 50 dollars and they have the same range. Do you think it's just better to go with the nls pro?
Yes that is true they’re fairly close, and honestly it depends on what you are looking for. The new NLS pro uses an adapted V3 ESC instead of the hobbywing ESC, and it is much softer, the acceleration is very smooth, even more so than the old hobbywing version, I’d go as far to say it’s a bit too smooth as it seems like the power has been very limited on the lower end. It’s still much more comfortable and I would say the better board out of the two, if you don’t mind the fact it’s definitely a bit slower off the line. I’m hoping to do a comparison between the original NLS Pro and the new NLS Pro soon.
Stuck between the two boards, I like the acceleration of the v3 more than the comfort of the NLS, but debating on the NLS because I’m a city rider. I was wondering if you could provide your input on how much less powerful the acceleration is on the NLS than the v3. If the v3 can accelerate to 20mph in about 4 seconds, how does the NLS compare in terms of seconds? Would you happen to know if the acceleration is faster still than the v2?
There isn’t a huge difference mate, both boards are extremely quick, and the NLS PRO has a higher top end. But the v3 just feels a bit more aggressive and has the edge on the acceleration. Both of the boards would destroy the v2 in acceleration. Either board you go for are plenty quick enough and you won’t be dissatisfied with either. Hope that helps 😁
If you haven't ordered yet, the nls pro come now comes with the same Esc as v3. Since the v3 has smaller wheels it will be on 30mkh half a second fast (4.5 vs 5 seconds). Honestly though if your a city rider get the nls pro the bigger wheels and flex of the deck make it so much more comfi and smooth, also Esc is like I said the same anyways, so rly not much the v3 has going for itself over nls pro anymore, before the Esc almost single-handedly made me go for the v3, but I went for the nls pro and bought the nls pro and will most likely grab the v3 Esc seperately soon, since I like riding aggressive in a big city and got to be able stop in an instance if needed. Hf with it, hard to make a wrong choice here really.
I think I would prefer the power of the v3 but I need the flexible deck and the 100mm wheels because I need to go over some rough roads with my commute to school.
They’re both great mate, the NLS pro is just as quick as the v3 just not quite as quick off the line. But once it gets going there isn’t much in it at all. So if I was to choose out of the two I’d say the NLS PRO is better for you if you can afford the extra cost. However with the ER Battery on the v3 which is essential, the price isn’t that different. The NLS PRO now uses the v3 esc anyway so there will be no difference in speed. This was a poor choice on meepo’s behalf though, the original ESC suited the NLS PRO well. Hope that helps
So where I live theres lots of like cracks and or pot holes. And I dont wanna ruin the board, I'm stuck between the v3 and the nls pro. Definitely will like suggestion.
Hello mate, well I can tell you that the NLS PRO will handle them cracks and bumps much better than the v3 does because of the bigger thicker wheels, bamboo deck and spongey grip tape, that overall make it a very smooth experience. The v3 is definitely firmer and the vibrations more pronounced. So the NLS PRO is definitely for you. However do be careful when using these boards not to hit big potholes with them. Hope that helps!
Awesome stuff! Hopefully you get it In decent time! Will never be super quick obviously because of international shipping and preparing the board etc. But let me know how long it takes man!
Hi! I am thinking about getting meepo nls pro, but I live in area where there is a lot of gravel on the roads, sometimes potholes. My question is - can nls pro deal with gravel and bad roads? And also how strong are the vibrations from road and wheels? Thanks
Hey man, The NLS PRO is about the best you’re going to get when it comes to standard boards for smoothness. But if it’s really really bad, have you thought about the city rider? It’s got different wheels made for very rough road but it is a little more expensive. For me the NLS PRO is plenty smooth enough, and the roads aren’t great here, but I don’t know to what level of roughness your roads are at haha! Hope I could be of help
Hey mate I’m interested in both these boards just wanted your opinion on my situation, I live in the uk and there is quite a lot of uneven pavements so the nls would be better there because of the flex and also I really like the speed of the nls however I’m also interested in the remote of the v3 and the acceleration as well, just wanted to know how much u look at the remote screen and if it’s worth me getting the v3 mainly for the remote I hope you understand my point Thanks a lot great video please do more soon
Hey mate, I’m from U.K. too and pavements aren’t great are they 🤣 the NLS PRO is definitely smoother on the feet when going over rougher pavements, but you can’t notice so much when you’re on a smooth surface. The speed isn’t really much different, you’ll still get about 29/30mph out of the v3 and the NLS PRO can see 32mph. Both very fast. The acceleration isn’t hugely different but it’s noticeable, with the v3 having the edge for sure. However with the remote, while the screen is really nice, I’m actually going to buy an NLS PRO remote for my v3. It’s much better built and is much nicer to use. Can’t fault it really, other than the fact it’s a little more noticeable that you’re holding something. Hope that helps mate :)
Floor Boi and more videos will be coming soon, I work a lot and haven’t really had the chance to make a video, as I like to do it as well as I can. But I have many ideas for videos to come soon as possible! The next video will be a very steep hill challenge for my v3 to see how it copes 😁
Dylan Smith perfect I literally live at the bottom of a massive and steep hill, also thanks for the reply it’s much appreciated, pretty sure I’m going to get the nls pro thanks to you, I had my ways set on the v3 but the nls has only just come on to my radar and I’m pretty glad it has.
Good honest review. I have the Classic, got it just before these came out.😆 Probably would have got the V3 if I'd waited a bit. Didn't get the ER battery either. Still very happy with the classic anyway.
Very similar mate, I’m at work at the moment but I can measure them and get back to you at some point today? I’d say the NLS PRO has a little more clearance but when you stand on it, it flexes more so it’s very close
Cheers for the sub man means a lot! And ah it’s exciting stuff mate, make sure you’re padded up with head gear, elbow and knee pads, a fall can be bad when you’re going 20+ mph. You’ll love it mate, enjoy 🤙🏻
Hello. Great video by the way. I've read som bad news about nls Pro having way to weak brakes. What you think about that. It's the only thing holding me back from ordering one
Fatos Blakaj the brakes are a little soft, but they work just fine for me. They’re no where near as bad as people have made them out to be, and most people comment without even riding it giving the board a bad name. The brakes have never failed me and I ride quick. they’re not as strong as the V3 brakes but they are strong enough to bring you down to a fast walking pace down hill. Which is fine and easy to jump off if need be. The board is fantastic and a good investment. Hope that helps sway your mind!
That is exactly what I weigh also :). Hence the concern. A bit of a shame that they can't be adjusted like v3. Anyway thanks and good luck with your channel. I did subscribe and look forward to new videos.
It is a shame they can’t be adjusted I must admit! And Thankyou so much for the subscribe mate, can’t believe I’m almost at 100! I’ll be making more videos soon, I’ve just been busy with work lately, but I’ve got a few planned, stay tuned!
Shak 420 id say that the NLS PRO is the better for a beginner as it’s a smoother experience with the acceleration and braking. However you would get used to either fairly quickly, but if you’re not careful you could easily be on your arse with the v3. The NLS PRO is just smoother but i personally really like the aggressive acceleration and braking of the v3, you soon get used to it. Hope that helps, either way what you get you will be happy with.
Good job on this comparison! I almost made the mistake of buying the V3 but I think the NLS Pro is better suited for me. Is one heavier than the other? I think with the ER on the V3 they should weigh the same Meepo is not so good with specs on the website sometimes. I've had to rely on youtube videos for info.
Thanks mate! Strangely enough the NLS PRO actually weighs a bit more, I reckon it is down to the very thick grip tape and the big thick wheels, it was about 1kg heavier if my scales are accurate. You won’t be disappointed with NLS PRO mate, fantastic board.
Where I live has been really bad weather lately and rained almost every day and the boards can not run in the rain as you risk damage to the motors and ESC. So we are just waiting for a day both me and my dad are free where the weather is good enough to do it.
I’d say you can’t really go wrong with either, if you can spend the little extra on the NLS PRO I’d say go for it. But if you go for the V3 I highly recommend the ER battery, which brings it up to almost NLS PRO price anyway. The only thing you’ll miss is a handle, but it’s still fairly easy to hold without one. Hope that helps :)
. I TRIED TO WATCH THE VIDEO 2X BUT I COULD NOT REALLY HEAR THE AUDIO GOOD ENOUGH WITH BACKGROUND NOISE... SO COULD YOU OR SOMEONE ANSWER: what is the pros of getting the nls pro over the v3 if you get the v3 with the ER BATTERY??? THEY BOTH GO THE SAME SPEED I BELIEVE AND BOTH GET THE SAME RANGE IF THE V3 HAS THE EXTENDED RANGE BATTERY... BUT THE V3 HAS A HANDLE AND WOULD BE $50 CHEAPER AS WELL CORRECT?
Hey man thanks for the video, greetings from TX! Can you comment on the durability of the battery on the nls pro? How is the sag compared to when you 1st received it?
Hey mate, I can say I’ve noticed no sag in either of the boards in the time I have had them, the batteries still last a long time, I notice very small power drops that come in blocks. When it’s at 100% the board is incredibly responsive, it loses a tiny bit of this below 80%, it then stays the same until 60% where it then loses a little bit more and then below 50% you can notice a decent difference between that and full charge. It not unusable though, still can go over 25mph, it just takes longer to get there. Hope that helps mate
Hi mate, it’s a bit of a grey area with the police currently, and so far I haven’t had any issues. But they aren’t legal as you probably know. Whenever I see the police I slow down and push with my foot to make it look like a manual board, however I have had police cars drive past me while I’m doing about 20mph+ and they haven’t said anything. So I suppose it depends on the officer and area mate.
@@41mnv1 sadly I don’t have anybody to lend me a backfire to review, I’d love to be able to get my hands on all of these boards so I could review and compare them for people to see but none of the companies sponsor me and I don’t have the money to buy them myself :( but from what I could see when looking into the two companies, MEEPO seemed the safest option, However backfire are a decent company too that also do a good value board. But when it comes down to what you get for the money meepo seem to offer the most. The meepo NLS PRO feels incredibly premium, super smooth and the deck feels like it is made out of very premium materials. But I am hoping to do some more reviews and videos soon so stay tuned for that :)
@@ESKATEUK Dylan, you are the most responsive blogger, you are a great fellow, I respect you very much)) The final two questions, please tell me what to take in addition to the standard configuration of the NLS PRO? And is it comfortable to wear without a handle? Thank you very much in advance)))
That means the world to me thank you so much, it’s great how many people this video has helped out over the past year and a half. The board turns up pretty much good to go, however I would say it is worth trying out different bushing adjustments, people often put 1 hard bushing at the rear truck to keep the ride stable, with a softer bushing at the front to make it easier to turn. You can also invest in different branded bushings which change the ride completely. I have another video called “how to change your eskate experience.” It’s worth having a watch as I go into detail. And with regards to the board not having a handle, I’ve carried the NLS PRO around a fair bit and it isn’t too bad to carry, obviously it’s not as nice as the v3 handle to carry, however the handle on the v3 deck is a weak point so the NLS PRO deck is a bit more durable. So there are advantages and disadvantages to either. Hope that helps :)
Jakub is it takes a while mate, because it’s coming from China. They usually make to order and will make them by batches, so they could even be making yours now, it will then go through quality control and then be sent off. It took about 3 weeks after ordering for mine and my dads to arrive. Can promise you it’s worth the wait though! Let me know when it turns up mate and what ya think!
Hey nice video, i got a question. You reckon it is possible if i take the screwdriver with me to change the battery on the nls pro on the way for unlimited range as long as i got batteries with me? The classic 2 is coming out soon with better range, but that board looks impossible to change the battery.
Hi mate I’m not entirely sure if I’m honest! I’ll have a look into it and get back to you about that. However personally I doubt you’d need it, the battery lasts so long and can be charged on the go with an in car charger fairly quickly 😁
I saw your comment on Kieran’s new video about the change of ESC. I ordered the Hobbywing version and I realized both controllers don’t come with a screen. Is it a pain in the ass to check the battery level, speed, and mileage using an app (if there is any)? Also is there a battery cover gap on the NLS pro like the V3?
Hey, it’s not hard to check the battery as it’s done on a bar level using lights, you have 1 to 4 bars of battery which is what the screen shows you on the v3. I suggest the best thing to do regarding speed and mileage would be using a cycle app, my dad uses one, I’ll ask him tomorrow what it’s called and it tells him all the details. And I will have a look tomorrow regarding the battery cover gap, I expect it probably does have a gap as the board is the same shape, but will let you know for sure tomorrow.
Great comparison and review. And it's sssssooooo awesome that you and your dad can go riding together. That's cool as ice. Just be safe you have a little kid that luvs and needs you behind the glass door behind you 😏.
It depends on your price limit mate, and what characteristics you prefer a board to have. If you like smooth, comfortable ride with a slightly more premium finish and a smooth esc then the NLS PRO is for you. If you like a more aggressive board with harder acceleration and braking along with a stiffer deck and a few other features like push to start, then the v3 is for you. However the v3 does not come with the ER battery as standard and I think that is essential to pay the extra for. Hope this helps
I dont have a price limit , I want a board that will be able to adjust to the bumby road with lots of cracks( in highbridge) NYC)fast speeds also , so what do u prefer- including others on the website
If they're about the same when it comes to the NLS Pro and the V3 except for comfort and a little bit of speed/wheel size, then the V3 should be a little better than the standard NLS yea? I was looking into the normal NLS till I realized they came out with the V3 for around the same price.
Bashfulfruit the V3 is superior to the original NLS mate, no reason to go for the old NLS over the v3, its much slower, has a worse ESC and battery. The v3 is a huge step up, definitely go for the V3 mate.
MartinBlanchette no problem mate, I’m glad it helped! And sadly it cannot, however, I prefer the NLS PRO remote over the v3 remote in every way other than the fact the v3 has a screen which is really cool. Stay tuned for more similar vids 😎
matt green hey man! I think times can vary a bit depending on the demand, and obviously because of this coronavirus I’m not sure if that will effect things either. But the wait for me was around 4 weeks after ordering. Definitely worth the wait and recommend you getting one!
@@ESKATEUK is that still with there express delivery? the boards look sweet! buzzing to get one for this isolation but i dont think it will be here in time :(
matt green I don’t think I had the choice of express delivery when I ordered to be fair mate?! Maybe it will come quicker then if you get express. And you never know, this is going to be going on for a fair bit of time I think so you might be lucky! I love them though they’re amazing boards and great fun.
@@ESKATEUK yeah thats true ! where abouts are you located ? im thinking of ordering the 100mm wheels with the v3 and just change from the start so hopefully will get the better ride comfort!
Are you planning on going with the ER battery? I recommend it hugely but it obviously is down to your budget. If you was going to go ER then I’d just go straight with the NLS PRO for sure because of the bamboo flex deck. Its beautiful to ride on, definitely going to upgrade my V3 deck at some point. But whatever you go for you will not be dissatisfied. :)
Hi mate, I use a damp sponge for most and for grip tape I use a tooth brush with some soapy water. Make sure you don’t get ESC wet or motors. Not sure if there is a better way to clean it but it does the job. I hear you can get a special rubber to use on the grip tape that takes out dirt.
Thanks for the video and details man! Sorry to be a noob, but do you know of anything that can interfere with the remotes signal with the board? Read a reddit post about someone's remote disconnected while going at a high speed
Hi mate Thankyou for the comment, no need to worry about sounding like a noob on here! I think the remote disconnecting is very rare it’s never happened to me and I’ve only heard of a couple of cases, but I’d say it’s most likely due to loose wiring, so if you want to be safe then you can always take the ESC housing off and check that all the wires are connected properly, obviously be careful not to knock them or anything. If they’re all in place then there isn’t any reason why the board would disconnect. Are You looking at getting a board yourself then?
They’re very good, very smooth and controlled like the acceleration. Not quite as strong as the v3 brakes though which I think stop you faster but will throw you off if you aren’t planted. Hope that helps mate
woody peterkin personally I’ve not found a problem with them where they haven’t stopped me but I haven’t gone down a steep hill on the NLS PRO, only the V3. But the v3 does have stronger brakes. I believe the NLS PRO brakes change modes with whatever mode you have the board in. So pro being strongest, whereas with the v3 you can have the power on low mode but the brakes on pro still. Whatever mode you put it in though, the v3 brakes are definitely stronger, which is down to the ESC.
Dawson James Thankyou I’m glad it helped! However some of these facts now need a bit of an update mainly being the ESC, they both now use the V3 ESC just so you know 🙂
Dawson James yes mate that is sadly right. I am not sure why they did this as to me they were aimed at different markets and after a while of owning these boards I came to prefer the hobbywing. I’ve fallen off the V3 a fair few times due to accidentally touching the accelerator while cruising because it is that touchy and responsive, however I’ve never done that on the NLS PRO. It was a mistake changing the ESC in my opinion but you still won’t be disappointed. It’s just the NLS PRO Hobbywing feels more relaxed, which makes it very enjoyable to ride. I think you can buy the hobbywing ESC separately which might be worth it so you can choose which one you like then. Hope that helps
@@ESKATEUK thanks for this. I've only ever ridden a V2, and am actually looking at off-road boards too. The V2 was pretty sore on the ankles when not on a perfectly pathed road. There's so much to choose from out there...
Dawson James yes I expect the v3 would be similar, the 100mm wheels make a big difference though, so I’ll be upgrading mine to 100’s soon. The NLS PRO really is super smooth I’d probably always recommend that one now, it’s deck is super absorbent and comfortable.
They aren’t as long as I was expecting honestly. Your little sister I want to say (sorry if that is wrong) was very interested in what you were doing 😂
Yeah this one is a medium sized board, my normal longboard is longer. Such an amazing piece of kit though, the best way to get around as long as the distance isn’t over 15 miles.
Dylan Smith ahh that’s why I bought it was long, got it confused with your other one. 15 miles isn’t to bad. That would get me to my local town and back.
Yes that’s what it is perfect for, people commuting around town and going to work locally, it’s very efficient and good for the atmosphere. It will actually do 20 miles but you don’t obviously want to keep running it flat, so 15 miles will be comfortable. I hope it picks up a bit in the U.K. so groups could go around, meet up and have some fun!
Elena Hancock definitely that’s where it will be used most. In places like New York and in China they’re so popular and common. They’re only just really hitting U.K.
Both exactly the same bro, get a good 17 miles on one charge with either and I’m 208lb so fairly heavy. That’s with the ER battery on the v3 though. The standard battery would be more like 8/9 miles. ER Battery is essential
@@ESKATEUK I'm between picking the nls pro or throw in 400 more for the evolve bamboo gt. I'm a heavier rider like yourself. Im looking for long range and comfort. The bamboo gt looks ideal but I'm not sure if it is worth the extra cash
Dr G I know evolve are very good but you obviously pay a premium price. I haven’t had the opportunity to ride an evolve sadly. The NLS PRO is incredibly comfy and I think I’ll one day upgrade my v3 to an NLS PRO deck. Comfort wise I think you would be very happy, the NLS PRO has very thick rubber on the wheels along with the bamboo flexy deck, Chuck some high quality bushings on there too also improves ride quality as they’re like dampers. Let me know what you go for bro.
@@ESKATEUK I just ordered the NLS Pro hopefully it comes in on a decent time. I live in the Midwest of the US so things always take forever to come in here.
Dr G sweet dude, you’ll love it. I’m not sure how long it would take for you, it took about 3/4 to get to England. Hopefully it won’t take too long mate, but it’s worth the wait, let me know when it turns up and what you think 😁
Bruce Tseng the V3 isn’t as springy as the NLS pro because it’s not a concave deck and is not made of bamboo, but the v3 still has a nice bit of spring underfoot that makes it an enjoyable, comfortable ride.
Does the V3 ER comes with the same charger as the NLS pro? NLS pro comes with 3Ah charger i think. Standard before on older boards was 2Ah. Does the V3 also have that charger?
Haha no definitely not. These boards and water do not go well together. I never take mine out when it has rained or is going to rain. Will destroy the ESC and motors.
A backfire is rated to the very minimum, which is ip55. where if you get any water on it, you need to dry it off as quickly as possible to ensure it doesn’t damage the ESC and motors, so as soon as you go through any water on a backfire board it recommends you do a series of steps to make sure it doesn’t go wrong. And even then it may be too late. Meepo just don’t state that the board is resistant to such a small extent, however it’s about the same level, I know people who take their meepo through water and puddles, and after a while it will go wrong. That will happen with the backfire boards too. It’s just different marketing. But you definitely wouldn’t want to go through water with a backfire board either.
Kevin Chan no you can’t mate, the NLS pro doesn’t come with one though. I love the handle and it will only ever break if you are careless and jump all your weight over the handle.
Hi mate, I don’t personally have the meepo classic myself, so I’m afraid I’m unable to review it. But from research and seeing what others have to say, there is little point in going for a classic over a v3. The price difference is not much, and the v3 is the better board in most ways, the handle is highly useful, it’s much quicker as it has the latest motors and esc, along with the latest remote. There isn’t really much point in the classic now that the prices are very close. But there are some other reviewers out there who have done an in depth review of the classic, I recommend John Pauls channel. Hope that helps at all mate.
Alexander Vlogs I completely agree mate. And there is not enough of a price difference between the classic and the v3 to justify going for the classic at all.
Hey, this is exactly the video I was looking for! Thank you! One question: how do these boards do on hill climbs? Say 20-30% grade. I’ve heard that some of the earlier Meepo boards had difficulty with hills. Thanks!
Thankyou for the comment mate I’m glad the video has helped! The v3 and NLS pro both have much more torque for going up hills compared to their earlier counterparts, the new esc pushes the motors much harder and they chew up hills. The v3 a little better than the NLS PRO. I’ll be doing a video going up an incredibly steep hill to see if my v3 can do it, I’m hoping to record it tonight and if I successfully get up this hill.. then that’s the perfect answer for your question! So stay tuned for that if you haven’t subbed already 😁
The meepo NLS PRO would embarrass the juiced board dual. They aren’t even comparable mate. The NLS PRO would beat it in every area including torque. These boards chew up hills like they’re nothing. The juiced board only has a 6-7 mile radius, whereas the NLS PRO you will be seeing close to 20miles. The juiced board does 20mph, the NLS PRO does 32mph. They’re not even comparable mate.
This is what I understand.. please correct me if I'm wrong. V3 Slightly quicker acceleration and braking Stiffer deck ( less smooth but more stable) Has a handle Nls pro Slightly slower acceleration /braking Smoother ride No handle What do these mean? Roll to start? Autostart? Does either one have Cruise control?
Hi there, firstly I’m sorry for the late reply.. and yes you got all them points right, however the NLS PRO now uses the V3 ESC, which in my opinion was a mistake and will change things up a bit. Making both boards too similar to each other. Push to Start means you can just roll the board forward and it turns it on. And there is a cruise control, on the v3, I’m not sure about the NLS pro, however I suggest you NEVER use it. It is incredibly dangerous, you want your hand controlling your speed at all times or you will cause serious injury and I know others who have from cruise control. Hope that helps, happy cruising :)
Dylan Smith 😂 like dee-yek? Well I like the a good floppy deck like the bamboo. I’m in the market for an electric board, again. Last one I had was a 2016 and 2017 koolwheel, but the board would only go 4-5-6 miles until it died. It was not a great experience, other than being a fun board for $550
Lee ah bro either of these two boards would more than satisfy your needs. Both will get 15+ miles out of one charge and are incredibly quick and well built, they’ve come a long way. 👌🏼
I have two Meepo boards (V2 & V3) for over three years. When these boards work, they are great fun. However, This is my major issue with Meepo. After riding your new Meepo board, fully expect the ESC AND /OR BATTERIES TO FAIL! It has happened to me four times. If your board is problem free for more than a year, consider yourself lucky. The proof is in the warranty. 6 months & 3 months for spare parts. This shows that Meepo does not believe in their products.
I’d have to disagree with you there my friend. I have owned my meepo v3 for almost 2 years since it was released, my Dad has NLS pro for almost 2 years, my cousin has had mini 2 for a year and my uncle has a v3 for 6 months. We all ride in good conditions and have not had a single problem between us. If you treat the boards like crap they will break, running through puddles, riding in rain, jumping off curbs all will do the trick. I have absolutely no idea what you’re doing to go through 4 different ESCs and batteries though, and I can assure you it won’t be down to the board, as the ESCs, batteries and hub motors are all universally used in nearly any budget eboard company. it’s not that that they don’t believe in their parts, they just don’t want to lose a large amount of money replacing peoples spare parts who are careless, which is completely understandable. You’re paying £500 for something that performs nearly as well and in a lot of ways better than a £1500 market leading boosted board. They can’t be perfect, what you get for the money is a bargain.
@@ESKATEUK LIke I said, If your board is problem free for over a year, consider yourself lucky. I am the average rider. I my honest opinion, quaility & control are lacking.
@@ESKATEUK For sure! For me the hobby wing ESC is just unbeatable. I'm not racing my board, I'm riding it. The NLS is defiantly good but I like the concave board design on the classic because, again, adds to the ride smoothness. To me that's all that matters and the classic nails that aspect super well. All the boards are great tho
I’ve been doing longboarding for quite a while now and have had my fair share of longboards and trying out different types of longboards, I own a lush legend x flex and my dad has a loaded Bhangra which are two of the comfiest boards you can get. And I can tell you the closest to them in terms of comfort is the NLS PRO. With the huge thick wheels, the concave bamboo deck and its new hobbywing ESC, nothing compares. The classic is made of a much stiffer maple deck that in terms of comfort can’t compare. If you get a chance to step onto an NLS PRO at any time, then you will see bro.
Good commentary! You've got a good personality for making the review enjoyable to watch!
Ah Thankyou mate that means a lot! I’m starting to get a little more comfortable on camera now, so am really enjoying it. More videos coming soon 😁
You had me dead when you called the handle handy
😂😂 I thought about it and thought “hmm, is there any better word to use? Nope!” 😂
I dont know why but for me This is the best Video on the RUclipss
Lightfire LP that means a huge amount mate Thankyou so much. I’m hoping to make some more videos soon just the weather has been so bad I’ve only had the board out twice in the last 3/4 months. Glad the video helped and you enjoyed it :)
4:02 that toddler in the background xD!
So funny isn’t it 😂 I never noticed until after I published the video 😂😂
@@ESKATEUK Thanks man! Your were a big Help! Subbed.
Thanks mate! Really appreciate that 😁
Thanks for a video dude.
Hello man,
It’s great to see my video is still helping many people world wide!
@@ESKATEUK thanks bro! I appreciate your content:)
I hope they would deliver it within 7 days to New York :)
Stay safe!
I hope they do too, enjoy it when it does turn up 😁
All the best, take care and stay safe!
Great review, it's been very helpful. Thank you
Wei-Zheng Tan I’m glad it helped friend :)
So for a heavy rider who would like to go fast but still maximize range, what would the best board be. Comfort is not necessarily a priority.
Hi mate, with the ER battery the v3 and NLS PRO have the same range. The v3 with standard battery I can’t recommend as you will get way less miles, and the power will drop much quicker
Everything about this video made me happy lol thank you!
Ah that’s what I like to hear! I’m glad 😜
Hey Dylan!
Thanks for making this video!
I’m on a fence between these two boards atm. Have years of windsurfing experience and some longboard riding (with windsurfing sail mounted on it 😁)
Think NLS sounds like a smooth ride and what I prefer really, but what do you think about city riding and particularly with bike traffic?
Fine comparison mate! Any range differences? I don't think the pro has adjustable braking, it def does not have roll to start function like the v3.
The pro does actually have adjustable brakingcurves.
Albert Hösl yes I know what he means now, it deffo has different brake modes for sure
Really appreciate this!!!
Nice overview, thanks! Do you have the make or model number of the hobby wing ESC by any chance?
Film and Fire hey mate I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Yes it’s called MEEPO FOC 30A by hobbywing
@@ESKATEUK Thanks 🤘
@@ESKATEUK what's the max mph for the meepo v3
xDECISI0Nx it’s been clocked at 29.5 mph mate. Probably could hit 30mph
@@ESKATEUK ok thanks probably clocked at 29 mph bc the battery life I would think
Dylan Smith so does the nls pro no longer have the hobby wing esc it now has the same one as the v3?
@@ESKATEUK definitely does!! I can avoid pot holes for sure.
Then you’ll be fine good sir, just avoid water like it’s lava, nothing kills more ESKATE boards than water! Enjoy dude
@@ESKATEUK definitely will just ordered a day or 2 ago! Now we wait!
@@ESKATEUK Thank you for rply
Hey mate I’m interested in both these boards just wanted your opinion on my situation, I live in the uk and there is quite a lot of uneven pavements so the nls would be better there because of the flex and also I really like the speed of the nls however I’m also interested in the remote of the v3 and the acceleration as well, just wanted to know how much u look at the remote screen and if it’s worth me getting the v3 mainly for the remote
I hope you understand my point
Thanks a lot great video please do more soon
The classic is still a quality board man, hope you enjoy it! And you can always upgrade in the future 😉
Wear yours out and the V4 or V4.5 will be out by then;)
Hcildwold that’s an idea! 😉
Whats the difference in the clearance between the ground and battery of both boards?
Very similar mate, I’m at work at the moment but I can measure them and get back to you at some point today? I’d say the NLS PRO has a little more clearance but when you stand on it, it flexes more so it’s very close
Very nice video man. I ordered a V3 last night and this will be my first time doing this. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Subbed
Cheers for the sub man means a lot! And ah it’s exciting stuff mate, make sure you’re padded up with head gear, elbow and knee pads, a fall can be bad when you’re going 20+ mph. You’ll love it mate, enjoy 🤙🏻
@@ESKATEUK thanks for the advice man. I'll update when I have it and had my first run.
MrReddington 77 sweet, enjoy mate!
Fatos Blakaj Oh and I’ll add I weigh 210lb so I’m fairly heavy, and it still stops me okay.
They are now, just updated!!
I am still up in the air about either getting the V3 or NLS Pro. Which is best for first timer?
Shak 420 id say that the NLS PRO is the better for a beginner as it’s a smoother experience with the acceleration and braking. However you would get used to either fairly quickly, but if you’re not careful you could easily be on your arse with the v3. The NLS PRO is just smoother but i personally really like the aggressive acceleration and braking of the v3, you soon get used to it. Hope that helps, either way what you get you will be happy with.
@@ESKATEUK thanks!!!!!!
Shak 420 no problem dude!
Dylan Smith Yeah I’m definitely going with the NLS P. Cheers!
Sweet man, let me know what you think when you get it, happy carving 🤙🏻
Which has a better range?
Ben Nemzek with the ER battery on the v3 which in my eyes is essential, they’re exactly the same range
Can you do the drag race?
Where I live has been really bad weather lately and rained almost every day and the boards can not run in the rain as you risk damage to the motors and ESC. So we are just waiting for a day both me and my dad are free where the weather is good enough to do it.
nice review !
Thankyou!
Which one should I go for you think?
The only difference... Or main difference at least is just the deck flex between the two if the v3 has tbe ER BATTERY??
Thanks Dylan very informative 😁🤙
No problem my dude I’m glad it helped! More to come 😁
Much bother with the fuzz riding in the Uk ?
Hi mate, it’s a bit of a grey area with the police currently, and so far I haven’t had any issues. But they aren’t legal as you probably know. Whenever I see the police I slow down and push with my foot to make it look like a manual board, however I have had police cars drive past me while I’m doing about 20mph+ and they haven’t said anything. So I suppose it depends on the officer and area mate.
My plan exactly, thanks for getting back to me dude , you’ve convinced me to order a v3 , can’t wait ✌🏻
Lewis Pratt no worries at all fella, I’m glad I helped out! You’ll enjoy that, they take a while to turn up but it’s worth the wait 😁
Dilan, Hi from Russia. Thank you so much and good luck Bro!!!
Hello! It’s great to hear my video has got coverage all around the world! Have a good day, all the best! :)
@@ESKATEUK Dylan, can I please give you a tip, Backfire G3 vs Meepo NLS Pro, what to choose?)) Or maybe another option up to $ 700?
How long is shipping to UK matey?
Hi mate, it probably varies but both mine and my dads board took around 4 weeks to arrive from being ordered.
@@ESKATEUK cheers mate.
How long did you wait for it? I've ordered mine nls pro 3 days ago and it's still on "We're currently processing your order" and I can't wait for it.
Ive waited 11 days for my nls pro to begin shipping
Hey nice video, i got a question. You reckon it is possible if i take the screwdriver with me to change the battery on the nls pro on the way for unlimited range as long as i got batteries with me? The classic 2 is coming out soon with better range, but that board looks impossible to change the battery.
Hi mate I’m not entirely sure if I’m honest! I’ll have a look into it and get back to you about that. However personally I doubt you’d need it, the battery lasts so long and can be charged on the go with an in car charger fairly quickly 😁
These look like good beginner boards to gradually upgrade if you tech minded
They definitely are mate. Plenty of potential in these boards.
Their for any level rider. That’s why theirs 4 speed modes.
Dylan Smith Thanks a lot man, just let me know bout the gap !
How long did the shipping take from China to Uk ?
Back when i ordered it took around 4 weeks to arrive :)
Great comparison and review. And it's sssssooooo awesome that you and your dad can go riding together. That's cool as ice. Just be safe you have a little kid that luvs and needs you behind the glass door behind you 😏.
rottimus prime thanks so much mate, that’s a lovely comment. I always wear a helmet and protection as safety is paramount! Have a good day man 🤙🏻
Hello fella where did you get your silver deck guard from ?
Hello mate, that’s actually my dads, so I’ll ask him later where he got it from and get back to you 🤙🏻
Dylan Smith cheers 👍
So umm
Which one should I get
It depends on your price limit mate, and what characteristics you prefer a board to have.
I dont have a price limit , I want a board that will be able to adjust to the bumby road with lots of cracks( in highbridge) NYC)fast speeds also , so what do u prefer- including others on the website
gods id say the nls pro would suit you best as it’s smoother, so would suit rougher roads better.
@@ESKATEUK thx for the advice
If they're about the same when it comes to the NLS Pro and the V3 except for comfort and a little bit of speed/wheel size, then the V3 should be a little better than the standard NLS yea? I was looking into the normal NLS till I realized they came out with the V3 for around the same price.
Bashfulfruit the V3 is superior to the original NLS mate, no reason to go for the old NLS over the v3, its much slower, has a worse ESC and battery. The v3 is a huge step up, definitely go for the V3 mate.
Thank you very much for this video. Do you know if it is possible to use the V3 remote on nls pro?
MartinBlanchette no problem mate, I’m glad it helped! And sadly it cannot, however, I prefer the NLS PRO remote over the v3 remote in every way other than the fact the v3 has a screen which is really cool. Stay tuned for more similar vids 😎
The V3 remote can't be used on NLS Pro. Such a shame. I would buy it otherwise.
I prefer the NLS PRO remote to the v3 remote personally mate, it’s better quality
@@arcrides6841 www.meepoboard.com/accessories/mr-screen-remote-controller/
this makes it sound like the v3 remote will work with the NLS.
how long for delivery to the UK mate looking to order one asap!
matt green hey man!
how do you wash the boards keep em clean ?
Do you have any thoughts on the breaks of the NLS pro are they good or bad?
They’re very good, very smooth and controlled like the acceleration. Not quite as strong as the v3 brakes though which I think stop you faster but will throw you off if you aren’t planted. Hope that helps mate
Dylan Smith some people are saying they are not strong enough to stop u on a hill going dwn. Are there different breaking modes u can access?
woody peterkin personally I’ve not found a problem with them where they haven’t stopped me but I haven’t gone down a steep hill on the NLS PRO, only the V3.
Very useful!
Dawson James Thankyou I’m glad it helped! However some of these facts now need a bit of an update mainly being the ESC, they both now use the V3 ESC just so you know 🙂
@@ESKATEUK ah cool thanks. Does that mean the NLS pro has more of a 'kick' to it now? Not smooth acceleration/breaking anymore?
Dylan Smith it would be great for places like London. More economical.
Elena Hancock definitely that’s where it will be used most. In places like New York and in China they’re so popular and common. They’re only just really hitting U.K.
After test riding them which one has a better range?
Is there any different? Does meepo V3 have bad spring?
Bruce Tseng the V3 isn’t as springy as the NLS pro because it’s not a concave deck and is not made of bamboo, but the v3 still has a nice bit of spring underfoot that makes it an enjoyable, comfortable ride.
Does Nls pro have autostart?
That’s something I forgot to mention in video! The NLS PRO does not have push to start however the V3 does. 🙂
@@ESKATEUK my NLS Pro has it. :)
Fabian Kehrer you’ve got the new one with v3 ESC mate :)
Does the V3 ER comes with the same charger as the NLS pro? NLS pro comes with 3Ah charger i think. Standard before on older boards was 2Ah. Does the V3 also have that charger?
The v3 has a less powerful charger than the NLS PRO mate, found that out yesterday when my dad told me, so NLS PRO will probably charge quicker.
Waterproof??
Haha no definitely not. These boards and water do not go well together. I never take mine out when it has rained or is going to rain. Will destroy the ESC and motors.
@@ESKATEUK it’s not IP rated at all? It can’t touch water like a backfire board or a exway?
FINALLY
Gfjchjvb Jhczknjk enjoy! There will be further comparisons in the future, hopefully a drag race 😆
Thanks good video
Thanks mate, hope it helped
I bought v3 idk why
Cheaper
ProbablyXD
Szymek Banasik so did I mate, with ER battery. I don’t regret my decision though.
Can you get the v3 without the handle as an option
Kevin Chan no you can’t mate, the NLS pro doesn’t come with one though. I love the handle and it will only ever break if you are careless and jump all your weight over the handle.
Sick with it
Is there sound on this video?
Yes mate? Try resetting your RUclips/app as nobody else has had an Audio problem, hopefully that works
do you have the meepo classic? Thinking of getting one just theres no handle to carry it! hah. Can you review the classic
I would definitely not buy the classic as the esc is very poor, the newer meepos are much better to invest in
Alexander Vlogs I completely agree mate.
@@ESKATEUK when are u uploading that video because i am interested. Thanks
I was really hoping the nls pro would have more torque than you juiced board dual but now I have second thoughts
V3
Slightly quicker acceleration and braking
Stiffer deck ( less smooth but more stable)
Has a handle
Nls pro
Slightly slower acceleration /braking
Smoother ride
No handle
What do these mean?
Dylan prefers a stiff deck
Lee especially if you say deck in an Australian accent 🤣🤣
Dylan Smith 😂 like dee-yek? Well I like the a good floppy deck like the bamboo. I’m in the market for an electric board, again. Last one I had was a 2016 and 2017 koolwheel, but the board would only go 4-5-6 miles until it died. It was not a great experience, other than being a fun board for $550
Lee ah bro either of these two boards would more than satisfy your needs. Both will get 15+ miles out of one charge and are incredibly quick and well built, they’ve come a long way. 👌🏼
👌
Cheers bro 🙏🏼
👏🏼👏🏼
"Stiffer deck", say that with a Kiwi accent...
Rhys Williams I was tempted 🤣🤣🤣
When I saw this videos I though something wrong with ur eyes like it was rip out
Really 🤣
Mine was nowhere as in depth as this 😂
B CLARK that’s because I actually know what I’m on about 😂
I have two Meepo boards (V2 & V3) for over three years.
Neither, the classic (imo)
Omar H thanks for the comment bro. Personally I can’t see any reason to take a classic over the NLS PRO or V3, but each to their own!
If you get a chance to step onto an NLS PRO at any time, then you will see bro.
what a Bri-ish man haha.
Hahah very Bri-ish indeed!
